- We're trying Terraria Shimmerblock (based on Terraria Skyblock!) In this let's play challenge series we're going to see if you can beat Terraria Shimmerblock in Master Mode!

What is Shimmerblock in Terraria? Can you progress from nothing but a small pool of Shimmer all the way to defeating the Moon Lord? In this Terraria challenge map inspired by Skyblock, you start in a Master Mode world with nothing but your starter tools and a pool of shimmer in a mediumcore world.
Your goal is to not only survive but progress all the way to the Moon Lord and defeat them!

Hey Happy! Creator of the map here, was a lot of fun to see you struggle through the start of the map! Impressed that you managed to figure out the initial gameplay loop without watching any spoilers of the map. There's quite a lot of research you'll need to find out the rest of progression. If you want any tips don't hesitate to reach out, I can be as cryptic in my answers as you like. Either way good luck! You're in for a lot of pain in the late game with the mediumcore restriction :)
oh its a blast seeing Stacey back after all these years. Her original playthrough basically taught me English, I havent watched terraria content for a while but ill have to keep my eyes on this one

I actually thought that happy stopped posting entirely. Nice to see that one of the RUclipsrs I’ve watched for years is still active! I was able to get into the calamity mod because of you happy (thx a lot calamity is super fun)

hey happy! I think you can stab the slimes if you have the middle block open instead of the bottom one (could be remembering incorrectly just thought I would mention it)

Happy you can trap slimes with in a box they jump into with platforms as a bottom. slimes cant fall through platforms like that so you can safely attack them from below.
also you can just buy an anvil from the merchant.
Oh wow, that's such a good tip! I didn't realize slimes can't fall through platforms! Oh yeah, merchant sells anvils, I need NPCs! 🍪
Tip: There's a specific item you need to craft from iron that'll hugely increase the amount of things you can obtain through a roundabout way.
Second Tip: It's only possible to do this on Expert or Master Mode.

Here's a tip to make your slime trap better. Since slimes can't go through platforms like the player can, you can use that to your advantage by making a wall that forces the slimes to jump up into a box with a platform floor. Then you can stab the slimes from underneath with your sword.
It should look something like this:

Shimmerblock is a fun bit of challenge. I played it some time ago.
The main information I can give you that will help is: Off to the right and up a little you will find a Lihzahrd block with the old man on it and a lihzahrd alter. Everything else you'll need to work out from what you can get out of mobs of various biomes and figuring out what shimmers into what.
I hope you have fun with the challenge Happy and I'd love to see how you do in it!

Hey happy great video as always, also slimes can’t fall though platform so instead of having them fall into a pit you can have them be trapped in a platform above you while you poke them with the short sword, that way you not at risk of dying

I think if you place the block at the bottom of your slime trap and stab thru the middle it should work. Instead of mining the middle block, getting hit, then killing the slimes and putting it back.

It would be interesting to know/see if it's possible to play this and eventually beat the Moon Lord on Shimmerblock. I figure some bosses will be hard to spawn, like Queen Bee since you'd need a honey block biome and a jungle biome so she isn't enraged.
The way to make the killing chamber requires the use of a hammer. I don't remember how to do it from memory, but think it has to do with slabs and slants (right triangle blocks)

you can actually just kept the wall and just build a small boxtrap above(where slimes can jump inside) and put platforms for the floor bcs slimes cant get down on platforms and then you can poke them from below
