    I think that paddy field is more lower than the river stream. If so. A simple lone pipe can do the job.
    Good job though.

      It will still work even if the paddy field is higher than the river as long as the reservoir tank is higher than the paddy field.

    Tahun 1986 waktu saya kelas 5 SD.Saya pernah melakukan percobaan seperti ini dengan material 2 kaleng biskuit dan selang diameter 20 mm.Hasilnya selang inlet dan kaleng biskuit berubah bentuk...tapi tetap bekerja.

      Yes , it is a good demonstratrion purpose esp. for those doubtful in the system.
      I've tried it successfully 2 years ago, using transparent container and a hose.
      Considerable understanding of the system is a must to succeed.

      @@cenoncapitulo5185 if the outlet is higher than the river it will not work! If the outlet is low enough, the whole “thing” can be substituted with a single tube, but you will have some difficulty to fill it with water.

    It is NOT a pump it is a siphon with the barrel used as an air trap.
    The outlet discharge pipe has to be lower than the water level of the river.
    A simple siphon system with the barrel used as an air trap.
    If the intake sucks air in from a spiral vortex same as when the water runs out of the bath .
    A straight pipe would collect the air at the highest point and stop working
    The air will collect in the barrel and the outlet continue to run creating negative air pressure pulling water into the barrel intake pipe until the water level fails to cover the outlet pipe.

    Nguyên lý hoạt động gần giống như dùng ống tyzo hút xăng từ can xăng ra khỏi can của máy bà bán xăng thôi. Ở đây thiết kế thêm cái phi để tạo chân không để tạo thêm lực chảy nhưng nguyên tắc của nó để vận hành là cốt của đầu ra phải thấp hơn đầu vào nước mới chảy liên tục đươc. Giả sử cốt vào bằng cốt ra thì sẽ xẩy ra hiện tượng lực hút của chưng không của ống đầu vào và ra bằng nhau nước sẽ dừng chảy . Hêt !!!

      Dimesions does not matter. But, this will only work if outlet is lower than source, here the river. A siphon can not lit the water.

      No foot valve are needed here. The system only works if the output is lower than the river.

      @@gi.etgiacchocovang3soco.921 khi nguồn nước cao hơn ống xả thì thùng phuy hút nước là điều đương nhiên. Khi thấp hơn thì không thể hút, nếu không có van 1 chiều ở ống hút thì nước sẽ hút ngược trở lại, lúc này ống xả trở thành ống hút.
      Điều khiến bà con ta sai lầm chính là khi nghe thấy nước chảy vào phuy đã nghĩ rằng bơm hút được nước từ thấp lên cao. Và "truyền thuyết" về bơm nước vĩnh cửu bắt nguồn từ cái sai lầm đó.

      @@gi.etgiacchocovang3soco.921 Cứ nguồn nước cao hơn ống xả thì sẽ hút được, van 1 chiều chỉ cần lúc mồi nước thôi.
      Đầu ống hút cần lắp chìm xuống thấp hơn ống xả. Đầu ống ra nên lắp thêm co 90 độ hướng lên trên để tránh hút khí ngược vào khi mực nước nguồn thấp hơn ống xả. Lắp như vậy khi mực nước nguồn xuống thấp sẽ ngừng hút, khi dâng cao sẽ tự hút trở lại mà không phải mồi lại nước.
      Hệ thống này cũng không hoàn toàn là vô dụng, vẫn có ích trong việc lấy nước từ kênh mương có mực nước cao hơn ruộng vào ruộng mà không thể đào đắp qua chướng ngại vật.

      This uses siphon principle, where the water exit level should be lower than the inlet level, otherwise flow will stop. If for other procedure has been hidden from the camera, that is considered ur skill or shall we a trict.

      From the video it appears that Outlet valve is at a lower level when compared to the river bank and intake is from a level much lower than the output valve.

      There are many videos demonstrating drum pumps. The videos show fixing of drum, pipes etc. None of them shows how the holes are drilled in the drums and the flanges are fixed in the drums

      If the water is too deep we need the output water is big and long but the drum may deformed sometime

      No. This is a siphon and a siphon can not lift water up from any well

    I have only learned and experienced that water always flow from high level to low level, without external force or vacuum it can't flow lower level to higher level. I only want to know on which principle it flows fr lower level to higher level?

      Potential energy of barel..When 1st time ejected water then deformed size of barrel then potential energy increase ,,we know all the body tends to lower energy ...Then the barrel wants to come own size ,,

      A siphon does not work from a low to a high level. Forget abot the barrel, it is only a starting device in a syphon.

      if the outlet is higher than inlet, you should fill

      if the outlet lower than inlet, you do not need the barrel, just fill one tube water.
