Hi there. Really insightful channel! I’m using my redundancy pay to put me in the right position to learn how to fly as soon as I find my replacement job. Really enjoying the content - it’s helping me stay familiar / motivated
Nice one @Matthew Desmond! It was going through a redundancy process myself a few years ago that gave me the kick up the backside to get going! Wishing you all the best and thanks for watching
Hi! Firstly well done on your achievements it's definitely been a journey for you! Love the video - very insightful. I'm really considering commercial flying looking to do a ppl after this lockdown hopefully that will be the first step.
Enjoy watching your videos, keep it up 👍🏻 If you don’t mind me asking, what age did you start your flight training and have you any tips for funding all the courses? I am 36, I do work but can’t afford to pay out 65k with a family and mortgage. I have started my PPL as a hobby but would love an airline job, the debt puts me off quite a lot 😬 Just wondered if you had any advice on that?
Thanks @Christian Davis! I got my PPL at 22 but didn’t really start seriously working towards fatpl until well into my 30’s - for much the same reasons as you! I started off with savings and then topped up the rest from high street lending and salary. Your approach is perfect, ppl as a hobby and go from there. There is no rush - it took me 10+ years from PPL to CPL + IR but had a lot of fun along the way! Best of luck with the PPL!!
Hi KC thank you for sharing your experiences the videos they are fantastic. I’m currently on an integrated course in Spain. I am just trying to budget for the course. How much are the CPL and IR examiner fees.
Hi @Thomas Barry, thanks for watching. Fees depend on the CAA. I just checked the UK CAA website and CPL or IR fees are £826. For my each test (CPL the. IR), all in including aircraft hire, was about £2k for each 🥴
@Petershonsi_fitness I did it part time (every Saturday for about 6months) and as I got closer to the end, increased the frequency to get ready for the test

Great informative video btw. I'm interested in a career in aviation and was wondering if a degree would be helpful for getting an airline job.
How many weeks brushups did you have to do with cats?
@Peterhonsi_fitness good question sir. It was 4 days per module (3 modules in total) but check their website/ call them for the latest 👍🏾😅
What flight school?
Did you do the MEIR on a fulltime basis ?
@Petershonsi_fitness I did it part time (every Saturday for about 6months) and as I got closer to the end, increased the frequency to get ready for the test
