Krenko is my current best deck, my recommendation would be to throw in a goblin chiggurn, you can sac a goblin to regenerate another goblin, that alongside some artifacts that provide hex proof/ward really help, top recommendations for those would be swiftfoot and lava spur boots, both of those are great since they also give haste which lets you start using kremlins ability sooner. Another reccomendation would be anything that untaps creatures, thorn bite staff is amazing for this and goes infinite but it is a 20-30$ card. Something like skirk prospector also helps , it gives you a red mana for sacrificing a goblin which is great because if you can get enough goblins and have a way to give krenko haste, even if he’s getting killed every turn if you have enough goblins you can continuously increase the number you have and just continue paying the commander tax(haste and a sacrifice outlet is another way to go infinite with him)
Hancock is actually a rather good choice for Zombie Anthem Decks IMHO. Ounce he ETBs, you can easily get him up to 10+ counters if you build the Deck right....
That’s so interesting! I really would have thought lower power commanders would have been higher on the most popular lists since I’m pretty sure most of these have some type of a salt score. Maybe less so for Gihada, and Krenko, but I digress. Also I could see any of these decks comfortably competing in the same game.
Krrik isn’t just “generally good” he’s the reason mono black is a viable cedh color. Casting spells for free is busted and krrik is maybe the fastest deck in cedh, netting you shittons of turn one wins
Not fastest but pretty fast. But even if he is not the commander if you are running Mono Black i feel he is still a staple to include in the deck because he cuts the cost of all your black cards. And no Turn 1 wins don't happen often as odds are a opponent has a counter spell such as Force of Will so it is better to not act like a turbo deck and try to win turn 1 even if you could. Like you can delay it to turn 2 or 3 and be fairly safe about their counter spells and then win with certainty K'rrik in of himself is a High Priority counter spell target so no matter what they would try to counter spell him unless there is another threat they had to use their counter spell on. So again it is tactically advantageous if you don't try to win turn 1 unless your god hand had a Conqueror's Flail as the important part reads "As long as Conqueror's Flail is attached to a creature, your opponents can't cast spells during your turn." so play a mook then try to cast that and if they counter it then you can still win with K'rrik turn 1
One of my favorite EDH memories was playing Changling Tribal against a Krenko deck and triggering a Coercive Recruiter everyturn to steal and tap Krenko. I had several times more goblins than him by the end. Nothing more satisfying than watching Krenko fall to his own minions.
I managed to guess urza, krenko and kyrrk surprisingly. I didn't get the angel I thought it might have been some token deck and I thought one of the kodamas or maybe one version of phyrexian praetor himself vorinclex
Giada is just the BEST small Angel available, providing what white heavy Angel decks (like my own ones) really need : mana Edit: angels hage now access to card draw through combat triggers, especially in Boros

I have 3 of these built, K'rrik Krenko and Urza 😂 I own a deck of each color combo. My other mono decks include Heliod Ballista Cedh, and Ghalta draw 12 🎉
I’m surprised Gix isn’t the top or one of the top mono black commanders. It can be a really clutch win con late game as it was for me when I was nearly outmatched but I used his discard ability a few times and ended up turning the fight 180 and winning by using their strategy against them. He’s become one of my favorite commanders.
Love Selvala, HoW. Marwyn, the Nurturer gets sadly overshadowed by Golgari Elfballs, which I think is a real shame. Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma is still the better Power 4 Matters Commander. Vaultborn Tyrant is stronger, sure, but VT’s strengths are capabilities your deck almost certainly already possesses… Toski, Bearer of Secrets is such a fun deck to play. There are so many ways to build an effective Toski deck. Hell, I don’t see this one often, but Old Gnawbone has so much potential. Dig in on mana doublers. Play other Treasure-makers and mana-adders like Tireless Provisioner and Lotus Cobra, while leaning into duping those guys. Such a great opportunity to play either really big spells, or Artifacts that aren’t normally feasible due to expense. (One of the only good Old Gnawbone decks I’ve seen was leveraging Helm of the Host and Unbound Flourishing to go nuts.) Ghalta, Primal Hunger got a lot better recently with Railway Brawler. Seen some people do a Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant cheat-out sub-theme that seemed like it would be a ton of fun. My boy, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, vanilla Vorinclex, and the #1 Legend that Vorinclex Secrets for, Kodama of the East Tree. All a blast if you stay out of Infect. Add Surrak and Goreclaw or even the good Nylea to this cluster of Commanders. Hell, Aeve, Progenitor Ooze is a Ye Olden Days classic Commander. *Fynn* ? FYNN is the majority of Mono Green players’ idea of the apex of Green Commander-dom? No wonder no one respects us Green players. :( All of these Commanders are great fun, and I missed so, so many! Don’t cheat yourself. Fynn is the embodiment of the sweatiest, most no-fun-for-anyone-else thing that Mono Green does. There’s better out there, I swear it.
Fynn is as toxic as you can get for mono green Commander. It is no fun to play against. It's about as bad as mass blue counterspells or mono black discard. Green is my favorite color and there's definitely a lot of good ones to choose from Surrak and Goreclaw are incredibly powerful giving your creatures that come in haste ❤
My favorite mono red commander is Lovisa Coldeyes! She is so amazing, very low mid in power, but damn is it fun to bring her out. Also que new art is cool, i just love that woman.
When he said Krenko for red, i was not surprised and thought of the infinite damage combo with him. Krenko, Mob boss, Thornbite Staff, Goblin Bombardment.
It's interesting that monogreen is so far below the others for it's most popular commander. The other 4 aren't surprising at all though. Giada had an entire secret lair deck built around her. The other 3 have insane combo potential and explosiveness. Krenko is the only one of these I've built, because I love Goblins. Usually I prefer more interesting unique builds though
Didn't guess the others, but I knew Krenko would be the monk red one. I've had goblins thrown at me too many times by too many people to not know when Krenko is nearby.
I made a run of mono color commanders to prove to my friends that I don’t just play three color 😂 Oswald Fiddlebender artifact pod Rhonas the indomitable (stompy deathtouch tramplers) Kefnet God Eternal (instant and sorcery draw and clones and steals) Birgi, Ragavan, and I forget other red were all fun. I guess my Kriik deck was too meta out of my mono color run
Giada is cool, but I like Sigada, Font of Blessing. The green ramp, Sigarda protecting your board and letting dig one card deeper , and a human sub theme really helps smooth out games
Krenko is such a good cards even similar cards with minor set back like Marrow Gnawer which requires you to sac a rat first is insanely good. I think it helps that for both you can easily go infinite with Umbral mantel or staff of domination and any sac outlet for your creature's that gives mana
Personally I prefer Krenko, tin street kingpin. Over mob boss. I've ran both, and i find with mob boss, I'm either going to win or lose by turn 4-5. All depending on if my commander gets killed right away. Where as with kingpin, I'm able to attack, and start making gobbos a whole turn earlier then if i was running mob boss. And I've had better odds of coming back from losing kingpin as well. Like MB can make loads more gobblins quickly. But KP can make you enough to win faster. And it doesn't matter if you have 10,000 if 10 is enough to win with.
I wanted to be original at one point with my mono red but my friend who I played some of my first matches with inherited me his Krenko before he moved away, so I HAD to craft it as a memento to him.
My monogreen commander of choice is Radagast the Brown. I don't like building tribal, so antitribal was a lot of fun. For red, I use the god from new Ixalan. Voltron him up and use all the creatures that ping for 1 repeatedly >:3
Although understandable, i think it is a little sad, that the most popular kinda is same as the strongest commander. Norin, the wary is such a funny commander. Hes basically flickering... In mono red! Or the mono blue braids. Its a blue deck that wins with huge creatures! In what other blue deck would that work? There is so much more to magic than just playing the strongest deck you can find online. My favourite commander at the moment is the four colored omnath. But my deck is not a landfall deck. Its flicker. And it is hilarious when i play omnath and keep flickering him only for the card draw xD
@@steamh4mmer264 thats why i said kinda. It is hard to determine a strongest card anyway, but they all are definitely up there with the strongest commanders in their colors. At least i can tell you that a krenko deck is absurdly powerful even if its built by an inexperienced player...
TLDR: my friend created over a thousand goblins. I went up against a Krenko with my Karador deck recently. Neither of us had an answer to the others play. His being goblin assassin my board into nothing and I would just keep casting Karador for his reduced 3 cost then cast spore frog from the graveyard. This went on for an hour until finally he won. But we had to start using coin flip generators for when his goblin assassin went off as he was creating hundreds of goblin tokens in our stalemate. By the end he won with 1150ish goblin token after having to sacrifice hundreds of them a turn each Krenko tap.
I had a Krenko mob boss deck before, and I gotta say, I think Krenko tin street kingpin is better. he get's out a turn sooner, and it's not that hard for him to get out of hand either, and while he's growing your army, he's getting bigger as well, plus you can put in other creatures to use the equipment and enchantments you'll have in there, in case he gets killed to often to bring back. and once you've crapped out enough goblins, you don't really need more
i was expecting Green to be something like Ghalta, Azusa, or Selvala. you know, Mono Green rampy stompy stuff. I got the rest right though, K'rrik is a no-brainer, Krenko is a no-brainer, and the only Mono blue commanders that are any kind of competitive other than Urza is Memnarch, but there's not much of a reason to choose Memnarch over Urza, they're the same deck which leaves Thassa, Deep-Dwelling. I figured mono white could have also been something like Light-paws or Danitha, otherwise i would have assumed Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines. (Panhar-mommy-con)
I have a Fynn deck, but only because it's actually a Dread Pirate Roberts deck. It's not something I would have made if it was just the regular version of the card.
No surprises, per se, but I only knew Krenko. I guessed the 15th most popular white commander, the 7 4th most popular blue commander, the 7th most popular black commander and the 24th most popular green commander. A little embarrassing on that last one, but, hey, despite being my lowest ranked guess, Nissa actually has nearly as many decks to her name as Odric, Talrand, and Yawgmoth combined. I think that's just too many people playing mono-green.
I remember someone in arena making a video where they made like 16,000 goblin tokens using krenko using a combo. Needless to say, turns took a long time, and it crashed the game
Fynn is top in green probably because the generic green ramp value deck can basically use like any one of a hundred different commanders and play the same, so no one green ramp commander makes it to the top.
Never underestimate an uncommon as a commander and yes I am the kind of scumbag playing Fynn. He is so fun and actually straightforward for newer or less experienced players to play. I much rather play against poison players than infinite turns spells. One will at least kill me in combat and not by boredom
I got 3 of them....fynn? Seriously? Fynn is the most obscure commander I have ever chosen for a deck to make. I never even heard of anyone else making a fynn deck.
I have a Giada and Fynn deck, Giada feels okay and Fynn feels slightly underwhelming for me. I have.. Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus for blue.. Starscream, Power Hungry for black.. Solphim, Mayhem Dominus for red
The fact that all of the rest are over 10k but greens highest is at 7k shows me that people diversify green a lot more and I personally think it’s because people enjoy playing mono green the most

Something like skirk prospector also helps , it gives you a red mana for sacrificing a goblin which is great because if you can get enough goblins and have a way to give krenko haste, even if he’s getting killed every turn if you have enough goblins you can continuously increase the number you have and just continue paying the commander tax(haste and a sacrifice outlet is another way to go infinite with him)
I know that feeling. Some games I don't even try to cast him until I've got all the parts of a combo ready to go infinite.
Like you can delay it to turn 2 or 3 and be fairly safe about their counter spells and then win with certainty
K'rrik in of himself is a High Priority counter spell target so no matter what they would try to counter spell him unless there is another threat they had to use their counter spell on.
Giada is just the BEST small Angel available, providing what white heavy Angel decks (like my own ones) really need : mana
Edit: angels hage now access to card draw through combat triggers, especially in Boros
lol 3 of the cards i got and said "hey this would be a fun commander!" and fynn being one is the only surprise. although i think thats simply due to Green being quite possibly the best mono color for commander so theres alot of good options
Vaultborn Tyrant is stronger, sure, but VT’s strengths are capabilities your deck almost certainly already possesses…
Toski, Bearer of Secrets is such a fun deck to play.
(One of the only good Old Gnawbone decks I’ve seen was leveraging Helm of the Host and Unbound Flourishing to go nuts.)
Ghalta, Primal Hunger got a lot better recently with Railway Brawler.
All of these Commanders are great fun, and I missed so, so many!
My favorite mono green commander is Toski, Bearer of Secrets. Man I love value
I made a run of mono color commanders to prove to my friends that I don’t just play three color 😂
Oswald Fiddlebender artifact pod
Rhonas the indomitable (stompy deathtouch tramplers)
Kefnet God Eternal (instant and sorcery draw and clones and steals)
Birgi, Ragavan, and I forget other red were all fun.
I guess my Kriik deck was too meta out of my mono color run
White -Skrelv
Blue-Bruvac
Black-K'rrik
Red- Krenko, Mob Boss
Green- Gargos
For my decks
Prof is obviously jealous of Gavin’s awesome jacket
I did not expect that I had 2.5 of these and had just never finished the black one….
Mono black commander is actually pretty fun I like playing Tergrid and stealing everyone’s cards lol
@@ihave0hp you….. don’t have many friends do you…. 🥺
Green: Fynn White: idk light paws? black: krikk blue: urza(?) red:krenko
post-video: ok yeah giada makes sense, a bit embarrassed that i missed that.
„In green its Fynn“
Lol never heard of him and i play 4 mono green decks. 😂
Giada is just so damn good as Angel support, though I've tooled my angel deck as an Clue subtheme
I dont think giada, krenko and fynn are the strongest of their color
I run Erebos, God of the Dead as my Mono Black Commander and Avacyn Angel of Hope for my Mono White
I had them all right except black, I thought Marrow-Gnawer was taking that one home
I have a mono green voltron deck with thrun breaker of silence that is pretty fun.
Would never have guessed Fynn and cant believe I didn't get Krenko. Lol, I've seen so many of them.
Green gotta be ashaya soul of the wild
Built decks in mtg website there are only about 2,000. Quite a few not nearly as much as some of the other mono green ones
I have a Fynn deck, but only because it's actually a Dread Pirate Roberts deck. It's not something I would have made if it was just the regular version of the card.
Honestly in a free for all among these guys I’m going to guess it’s “dump your library onto the battlefield” Urza.
4/5 I thought Syvala instead of Fynn but he makes sense. I've never seen someone at a table with him though
Krenko is so fun to play haha, I love goblins so much
i would say giada, krenko, kriik, urza high artificer, not sure for green
No surprises, per se, but I only knew Krenko. I guessed the 15th most popular white commander, the 7
4th most popular blue commander, the 7th most popular black commander and the 24th most popular green commander. A little embarrassing on that last one, but, hey, despite being my lowest ranked guess, Nissa actually has nearly as many decks to her name as Odric, Talrand, and Yawgmoth combined. I think that's just too many people playing mono-green.
Me: "I don't waste my time with MTG anymore."
Also me: "Entering battlefield, must be the new Elesh Norn." :D
I remember someone in arena making a video where they made like 16,000 goblin tokens using krenko using a combo. Needless to say, turns took a long time, and it crashed the game
Here I was thinking Omnath was gonna be green’s choice.
Kyrrk surprised me thought it would have been Yawgmoth
Fynn is top in green probably because the generic green ramp value deck can basically use like any one of a hundred different commanders and play the same, so no one green ramp commander makes it to the top.
Never underestimate an uncommon as a commander and yes I am the kind of scumbag playing Fynn. He is so fun and actually straightforward for newer or less experienced players to play. I much rather play against poison players than infinite turns spells. One will at least kill me in combat and not by boredom
Neheb the eternal is probably high up on the list as well for mono-red because of the ability to burn your opponents out so easily
I have both the black and the green ones but they are in my rakdos and my mono green elf decks
Where are these numbers of decks taken from?
What does it say about Krenko Mob Boss, that he's a 12 year old card and still one of if not the best goblin commander
You should do the second and third most popular too
We need more Gargos, Vicious Watcher decks for mono green
I have Giada and my play group have the other Commanders in this short... we are sooo basic 😅.
Why no colorless cmdr?
I couldn't pause in time so i didn't have a chance to guess White before reveal but got 3/4 of others... Only real surprise is Fyn to mean.
I guessed the alright except for Fynn. I don't know how he slipped my mind. MF is strong as hell.
2 right. Was thinking selvala krenko tegrid urza and sram
3/5 is not bad. I missed on Fynn and Giada but hit all the other three.
I was expecting one of the rats for black just because of rat colony decks.
I got them all wrong😂, I was thinking dragons and praetors and elf's and rats
Nodding, while watching.
vinylscratch ...
Fynn
Red has never changed since krenko dropped.
It's funny the fastest is also the most consistent
Dang, I have all of these built except Urza - and I use +1/+1 Krenko
Dang, I thought red would be Magda for sure
I'm sorry but as a non commander player I wish you would do more timeless
Only the Urza deck is actually fun to play more than a couple times (with, or against).
Hey give me my junji any day. He doesn't do much, but I like him.
My favorite colors red and black were the more predictable answers 😂
So I swear I heard you say Urza makes a "Karnstruct", and now I refuse to call them anything else
Insane its still Krenko after like over 10 years
Damn, I have built all but one of these
I wouldve thought fynn would be a lot less popular, i expected mono green elf ball commander
The fact that all of the rest are over 10k but greens highest is at 7k shows me that people diversify green a lot more and I personally think it’s because people enjoy playing mono green the most
for blue im using kefnet for 4 mana its a really good card
Only ever done mono white and honestly it's probably one of my better decks. Danitha, Benalia's Hope
Had a Giada deck. Tore it apart to take the good cards out of it. While she’s fun angels are so slow
