It's RIDICULOUS how good he is at sharpening.
It's NOT the stones. It's not the knives. It's him.
BELIEVE ME. I have a good FAS & great stones.
    I get absolute MIRROR finishes & strop w 2um.
My angle's perfect + consistency from heel - tip.
Many of you don't understand what you're looking at.
Slicing paper is EASY - once you've initiated the cut.
Slicing thin cuts of paper is easy (esp w adequate speed)
He slows down & changes direction back & forth (at the tip! no less)
He drops the knife into paper and it immediately cuts!
He smooshes paper into knives that are inside a jig!
THOSE kinds of things ..? Those are next level sharp.
And that's what his channel SHOULD'VE been named: _NEXT LEVEL SHARP_

The best thing is to do this in his bathtub.
Otherwise there is talent there is not to say.
Joking aside, if we can do that with a kit at 45€ I don't see the point of buying Shapton stones at 60€ each. Even if the lifespan is 3 times longer, it's still worth it.

Get the title right! That thing is a whetstone*. From "to whet" = to sharpen. The name has nothing to do with the fact that you have to soak the stone in water ("get it wet") before sharpening.

Relax, this is not good for your blood pressure. I think that Americans use "wetstone" because they understand what that means, and likely are not familiar with the etimology of the correct term. Have a good day. 😀

Didn't show you anything about the white flattening stone or the use of the leather supplyed or even how long to soak the stones for !!

@@ArtTemaMixI just got my set in the mail today. I have quite a bit of experience but not with a set. When I was about 8 my dad gave me a stone and his pocket knife and I would do the sharping how you make little circles. Got so good at it I could do it by sound and didn't even have to look at it lol. So that's how iv always done it . I going to be learning how all over again. I just ment you made a great video but I would have learned more if you just explained what you were doing 😆

You hate it when people don't talk? What's there to say in a video about sharpening a knife? The method for sharpening is all that matters, what kind of philosophical revelation are you attempting to glean from knife sharpening??????
Clearly your lonely incel self is desperate for any amount of human interaction. You obviously need to go out more, once you've listened to enough people you'll learn most people speak dishonestly, topics are usually pointless, most people are just being narcissistic and ironically devoid of life.
If you're still young then you'll probably go learn this truth the hard way. If you're older now and haven't realized this yet then I have pity for you.
