Two-Tone (A short film about the cleanest S13 out there)

- This car got featured in Performance And Sound Magazine (PAS mag). It is one of the first Nissan Silvias imported into Quebec. It's a Nissan Silvia S13 1989. The owner now had it for 5 years. It's been his summer car and drift car. Normally, drift cars are all destroyed and have the "drifting style" with zip-ties and destroyed corner panels and are most of the time in a garage because theirs something wrong with it.
This car is an exception. He never got back home on a tow-truck. The car has only one small scratch because of a tire that exploded a couple of years ago and that's it. The car is mint! The engine bay is also among one of the cleanest ones I've seen.
He is passionate about his car and that's what I tried to show in the video. Two-Tone was a school project, I only had a couple of weeks to film it and out of luck, it was raining most of the time.
I hope you will like this video and enjoy the cleanest of the car.

to you , the creater of this film, I give thanks. 4 years ago this video introduced me to the idea that a car can be more than the sum of its parts. as well as showing me that there is a different part to car culture, more than just the exotics, as then I was a 12 year old reading 0-60 times on the internet who didn't yet understand the relationship that us car people develop with our cars and driving as a whole.

I saw this for the first time when I was around 15 and it made me cry. It wasn't pain or sadness, it was imagining that I'd be able to relate to this video for real one day. Like every other racing/car video, this short film gave me goosebumps, and I had this feeling as if I knew what I wanted to do with myself in life. Almost 9 years later, I'm watching this again. My s13 dream, became a 350z dream, and that dream became a reality. Seeing every beautiful shot of your s13 whether parked, cruising, or sliding.....? It touches my heart. It reminds me of every moment growing up that I wanted to truly feel the freedom and joy of bond between driver and car more than anything. Now when I watch this, and I listen to that speech, and I hear the sound of tires being obliterated, I feel it, I feel every second of it, every set of rears turned to nothing but wire and rope. The satisfaction every time you slide, knowing even though thousands of other people do this, this is your thing.This is YOU and ME and ALL of us and metaphorically I feel as though nobody can ever take that away from any of us. Brought back some good memory's of my S13 I lost to street drifting... She was on her way to looking as clean... The original heart from my S13 now sits in my 66 Volvo, hoping some day to take her sideways like I did my beloved Silvia....
Yeah this film still makes me feel some type of way after all the years lol. I still love the video. it's still inspires me to this day lol.

First people started slightly modifying them (150HP sports car is pretty shit, even by 90s standards)
Then they figured out "hey, this is a good drift car".
Then they fucking destroyed every single one of them.
And the same thing will happen to the Toyobaru FR-S.
Just waiting for the production to end so that people will start breaking them.
The bolt-on craze already happened and still is happening.
Recently they started being used in Formula Drift.
Pat Cyr already started breaking them.
So yeah.
Invest in one now and take care of it, expect it to be a gold mine in 10-15 years.

The Toyobaru chassis is pretty amazing for drifting as well, not as good as the 240SX (then again, what is?), but it's easily the best drift car being produced right now.
And the 240SX won't last forever, it will become too old and too rare to just be a drift missile so people will have to start using "newer" cars.

Jake Russel man, how things have changed in a year, brz's are being thrown away because of the shitty boxer motor, a ka24e and ka24de both have iron blocks. Motor makes the car not the hp my guy, brz, the 86 and the frs are garbage rn today, things changed a lot during the year and u were wrong bitch boy

I have a s13 240 coupe conversion with everything Silvia .its not stanced out and its simply a blast to drive.
i had an S13 that looked quite similar to this, tidy in and out, 2 tone clean panels only difference is it had an rb25det swap, i sold it for an s15 afew years ago and i miss it, if only i can turn back the hands of time... lol, now all i can do is watch this video to remind me how special a tidy s13 is

The thought that I can't go sit in my baby(s13) rips me apart. It kills me inside. I've never wanted anything as bad as I want to drift. As bad as I want to drift an S13 It's like being in love with someone
I really do think about this all day every day. And I crave it enough to cry.
Maybe one day I'll be in a position to find/buy an s13.

Back in early march I picked up an s13 coupe for $500 and a 180sx half cut with a blacktop. Finished the swap a week ago, something like this is my end goal. Mine is the same color and everything.
