    Did the same 6am - 11pm as a general contractor's "Apprentice" for 2 years worked weekends and even Christmas day, We would drive an Hour to the Job, Work until 5pm renovating a luxury bathroom for a dog. Then drive an hour and do another job closer to home putting in dry wall ceilings and custom trim. Could be painting an Exterior in the Morning and Tiling a bathroom or basement in the evening. We did everything so there was always work. too much work. Wasn't worth it for the money I was making. Now I do my 9-5 tool an die job and make more so I'm happy.

    • @GTStuning-
      @GTStuning- Год назад +1

      Probably never worth it as time is so valuable in life. Even a good wage won't compensate for the time you can't spend with family, friends and enjoying life.
      Nowadays I'll take a 9-5 without hesitation, when you're young it isn't a big deal to work in remote areas for 18 hours a day, been there done that.

    • @KStewart-th4sk
      @KStewart-th4sk 6 месяцев назад

      @@GTStuning- You are right about that. Spent 10 years on the road over 3 Provinces, remote areas as well. During the work season the only time you got home was long weekends. When i settled down and we had our first daughter, i had enough seniority to stay in the shop. BUT other mechanics with seniority loved that lifestyle and kept going out even with a family at home. Good money but they would miss a lot of their kids growing up. I didn't want that, but it was a fun time on the railway gangs.

      In the aviation industry, we use a type of synthetic fluid called skydrol for the hydraulic system. It was developed by Monsanto to replace the mineral based oil 5606. Your skin feels burning when it contacts with Skydrol and it can last for hours. I think the engineers/ chemists who developed should be held accountable but in reality, they are enjoying their retirement lives.

    You should look at that backoes PCV valve or filter. I've seen it before the engine oil glugs like that when draining. If you crack the dipstick it'll flow better. The. You change the pcv filter and it goes away. Wether or not you get any difference in performance who knows. But I've seen engines with horrible filter condition because it had never been changed in 5000 hours.

    The common western man has a disconnect between the physical and the abstract. You are the exception.

    What brand is the battery powered grease gun you’re using in the end of the video?

    • @TekamoHD
      @TekamoHD  2 года назад +2

      It's a Milwaukee M18 grease gun (2646-20). Here's a short video we did on it: ruclips.net/video/-hDmz1xJLFY/видео.html. We put the link in the description too but if you decide to buy it (or other tools) from Amazon, using this affiliate link supports the channel and helps us create more content: amzn.to/3iBx4jI

    What is your opinion on Cats think big program for the apprentice and is the Finning program a quality program compared to the others in the states? Thank you for another informative video.

      Idk about finning but the dealer I work for I wish I could’ve gone through their program. They put two of the smartest TCs on the apprenticeship program.
