- In June 2023, over 150 James Bond fans from all over the world gathered in Peterborough (UK) at the Nene Valley Railway, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the James Bond film OCTOPUSSY. Together with cast members like Kristina Wayborn ('Magda') and David & Tony Meyer ('Mischka & Grischka') and crew members likie director John Glen, SFX supervisor John Richardson and many others, the group visited the filming locations on the historical railway and celebrated a gala dinner evening.
Ken Burns made this video report, presented by event co-ordinator Martijn Mulder (Onthetracksof007.com), and together with the commentary by local co-organisers Marc Hernandez and Del Singh this video is an excellent way to experience (or re-live) the event.
The event also launched Marc Hernandez' book ON THE TRAIN TRACKS, FILMING OCTOPUSSY & GOLDENEYE AT NENE VALLEY RAILWAY, which is available online at www.dmd-digita... and at the Nene Valley Railway Wansford Station gift shop.

Im 57, and it feels like it was 100 years ago that i saw this movie when it came out. Unreal, how great the cast still looks.
The greatest fandom in the world. 😊
Thanks for posting, it's my favorite Bond film.
My pleasure. Despite a lot of sillyness, I have always liked it myself a lot too.
@@onthetracksof007 Well, that was the Roger era.
Kristina Weyborn (However one spells her name) is STILL gorgeous! 💕
She absolutely is!
Octopussy is one of my favourite Bond films every. So great to see Mishka and Griska back again, and Kristina Wayborn being there was even more awesome. Going to the Nene Valley railway to host it is is the icing on the cake.
That's where it all came together
Superb fellas, well done. Brought it all back.
Lovely to see all the old guys. Making me watching this video with such a big smile. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!

Kristina Wayborn ❤❤❤ chef's kiss

Thanks!
Absolutely brilliant video! Thank you for this. It is positively fantastic.
Thanks!
Roger should've been there 😢..
Great to see cast and crew especially John Glen director
We all miss Sir Roger.
I love John Glen - for his films first and foremost, but also for ALWAYS appearing when anything Bond-related is scheduled. He is about to be 92 years old, and he never misses out.
Well done Martijn. Great intro. Loving the ''little boy reference'' 🤣
Thank YOU for the splendid footage, Ken! And in retrospect, you weren't THAT little, were you? 😆
Love your intro, your crazy but a good and funny kinda crazy.
Peace and love from Glasgow.
Ha, thanks for the kind words. It's always so much fun to come up with and film these intros 😆
Great film! I wish i had gone to the 40th but having not long lost a parent my thoughts were elsewhere. I remember as a kid being there when it was filmed, I've got lots of photos and a few call sheets, a shell casing and continuity photos. I think I was 10-11 at the time and spent quite a few days just hanging around nearby as I was such a massive bond fan. I remember getting given the Merc badge off of one of the crashed Orlov mercedes after I'd told them my dad had got his stolen (from the same model of merc). He put it on and sadly sold the car a few years later with it still on. Little did they know what they had! The crew were very kind to me and the bond girls messed up my hair a few times lol. Great times, thanks for putting this up!
What a lovely story!
Great, great, great video. I was entertained indeed 🙂
Thanks!
Awesome opening
🤣 thanks
I still prefer Moonraker, but Octopussy is still prime Bond. The last great Bond film, in fact. Top 5. And extremely underrated.
A pity that the origal music score of octopussy isn't played but that could be a copyright issue?
