Dr Bergsma, always brings simple clarity and union and relationship to the monthly readings, love that. Also I have taken to writing my sins and faults and then burning them after confession, very satisfying. We also did it with my CCD students after they went, it made real the Grace of Gods forgiveness.
Today is First Friday and tomorrow First Saturday- we need reparations for our sinful world.
    Ave Maria

Stump the Professor Question: Dr. Bergsma - Great job, as usual. My question concerns 1 John 4:12:
"No man has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us,"
and how that jives with Exodus 33:11:
"Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend." Thanks for your time - Ray

God is often seen in the Old Testament. Yet the New Testament says the father has never been seen. This could be a pre incarnate second person of the trinity who people throughout history have encountered. But I don’t know I could be wrong

These monthly videos are a joy and a delight. I think I understand how to apply the reading to my personal life, but wonder what message we can take from the scriptures this fall as it relates to the election year? I’m already getting hives and planning a Ferris-inspired “day off” just thinking about it. God bless!
