Okay, Jules, I’m sure you and your neck vein, Jeremy, know the drill by no-HOLY SHIT! You actually did it! Thanks much for obliging my, mildly, manic persistence. Live a Live and Citizen Sleeper look quite tempting, and I had no idea Undertale was bite-sized. Including Chrono Trigger? Didn’t know that one respected my time until well after the fact, but I know that one was a brilliant addition. Thanks much! Oh, and justin9886’s suggestion about Video Games Based On Books? That’s totally got my vote!
How about a Top 10 Video Games Based On Books? I find it shocking how few people know that many of their favorite games are based on even more amazing books. At the least, it could get some viewers to read more about the games they love.
Jules: "This game really only takes about 10 hours to complete Me: "Does it though?" *spends 10 hours rying to climb every rock and tree, looking behind ever crack and crevasse, trying to glitch out of the map, and deliberating going the wrong way and do all the things wrong just to see what happens*
My suggestion is: Story arcs in video games’ main quests that made you feel like you needed to rush through the game, but really didn’t. (Like Meteor falling in “Final Fantasy VII,” or Batman needing to find the cure for he and Joker’s TITAN sickness in “Batman: Arkham City.”)
All of the oddball games that Square put out on PS1 between Final Fantasies (Parasite Eve, Einhander, Ergheiz, Brave Fencer Musashi, etc) need to be remastered/re-released at some point.
I am an adult with limited time for games but I have found a hack that lets me game. I have a Steam Deck and take mass transit. Instead of getting stressed out by my commute, I just sit back and relax while playing Baldur's Gate 3.
Jules, as someone who has been watching regularly since the Southwest Savage days, this was one of your best videos in a while. I'm sure its hard to find niche or underrepresented games, but this was a delight. I had my Steam wishlist open the whole video. Kudos and keep up the great work!
There's a pretty short RPG that came out last month. It's called Beyond Galaxyland and I'm having a lot of fun playing it. Maybe not on the level of the games from the list but it's pretty sweet.
while mainlining the story of Chrono Trigger can take 30 hours?? at most it takes much more then that (and many NG+ playthroughs) to 100% and if you just mainline the story and never hit that NG+ option you may not necessarily see the BEST possible ending (still one BANGER of a game though)
Pretty sure I’m the only one that really enjoyed this game, but I remember Chaos Legion being a fairly short game. Has replayability by going back to chapters and unlock stuff that you couldn’t get the first time, but I think the main story was pretty quick, and the hack n slash gameplay was fun
Not sure if anyone mentioned it but what about Way of the Samurai it was only about an hour long but once you got the hang of the game was really great short story.
After nearly 300 episodes and potentially great list ideas that came up short with enough entries maybe I was just hit with an inexplicable curiosity about something. And maybe there is a list to make out of it or maybe not. 10 videogames too unique to define or for comparison for a top 10 list. Or something better than I could some up with.
Not trying to undermine anyone there. A favourite indie RUclipsr of mine (and big Whatculture fan himself) admitted to having list video ideas that got adandoned after exhaustively researching and one coming up with two or three entries. (Think Vegetarian videogame characters was one)
The difference being, is it just unique but classifiable like Portal and Baba is You, etc. or abstract games, such as Chuchel, QWOP, Untitled Goose Game, Return of the Obra Dinn, etc.?
Hey Jules, always love the videos I have a weird one for you but I am not sure what to call it...but I have a friend that can be overwhelmed by game mechanics but like games geared toward adult players with storylines that stay on point or at least make sense for the world its written in( such as Horizon Zero Dawn (Forbidden West was too much, Avatar,Ark) and we have been struggling for a while finding a new game for him to play. So maybe something like best games that the Story let you have a beginning middle and end that didn't twist you around much or games that are great for the grown ups with easier mechanics...doesn't even have to be a Tues list...and if any of the great community have ideas...I am all ears :D Thank you as always for your positivity :D
Definitely agree that Child of Light is amazing. Bit surprised that Transistor didn´t make the cut, given single (and afaik the only really necessary) playthrough is like 7 hours.
Phantasy Star 4 can be beaten in around 10-12 hours without too much trouble and is on the same tier of quality as Chrono Trigger, especially if you have at least some familiarity with the the first two Phantasy Star games, which PS4 is the wrap up for (PS3 is taking place at more or less the same time as PS4).
I was too! I wonder if it was because it's been in the media so much that they figured we already knew about it? But if that were the case, why would they include the South Park games and Undertale games?
Hey Jules, first time posting on the channel. Got 2 ideas that would be cool. 1) Great games that you can return to at any time (games that give you a brief summary of what’s going on in the story so you can come back a year later and be good). 2) Good games that didn’t make it internationally, but still popping sequels back home (games that are good, but only in country of origin)
Thanks for the suggestions - very much appreciated! Haven't heard of most of these. Last night, I started playing the 2012 Alan Wake for the first time last... soooo, how about when a video game should have been a movie or a mini-series instead. Now granted, I've spent the last year in New Vegas and the Capital Wasteland, and I've spent the past month aboard (and outside of) Talos I. I have had so much agency for so long, AW is jarring... and people call out Fallout's shooting mechanics🙃
Games that the Warhammer 40k universe cloned or genres they made the silver medal winner (XCOM/ Mechanicus, gears/ Space Marine, diablo3 / inquisitor, baldurs / rogue trader) etc
whoa whoa... golf story? A mix of golf and rpg? I swear this was made by steven universe fans, I would be surprised if this was not the case XD In this regard, I also recoomend dodgeball academia, basicly a dodgeball rpg.
I think not mentioning cat quest here is a crime 😢 You can get a platinum trophy in this game in one weekend so the story is quite short (and super fun).
Revisiting the ps3 and theres a lot of games from that generation on the 9 hour side. Recently played example BRAVE and currently playing alice madness returns
As an adult with no time this video is almost the opposite of what I thought it would be. I thought this would be long length rpgs that you could sink time into and make progress even if you only play 20 minutes, even if that took out just a small chunk of a bigger task. Think warcraft or runescape, or even more appropriately warcraft classic or osrs
Ever seen the back of the box of a game or read up online to see how long that certain game takes to finish its main campaign and it said “over 50 hours of content!” on the back of the box and you were like “Nope!” or were intimidated by it and didn’t bother to pick it up because of it?

I second justin9886!! That would make for a great video.
Congratulations! I’ve been pestering him for months for a video on Flash games, I’ll see when he breaks for me
@@monkofbob My fingers are crossed for you! And, thanks.
@@codytatro5721 Any examples? Aside from the obvious ones, I'm blanking. That's actually half the reason I seconded it.

Great idea, hope they do it
I can already see Metro & Witcher being on there. Both excellent franchises
As long as they are not comics also.
Let me guess, either the second or third Witcher games would be on that list?
@@civilwildman does that mean sesame street count. 😆 🤣
8 video game bosses who have violated the most terms of The Geneva Conventions
Kefka. Lol
Counter: 8 Video games where you, the protagonist, have to violate Geneva Conventions. And no, Spec Ops: The Line is too much of a layup to be used.

Child of Light is top tier. Exploration, combat and music are all amazing.
exactly, also the cute animations!

8 video game moments that make no sense (but are still awesome)
Gris is also a really great, short game. I spent less then 10 hours on it but artistically, it was wonderful.
All of the oddball games that Square put out on PS1 between Final Fantasies (Parasite Eve, Einhander, Ergheiz, Brave Fencer Musashi, etc) need to be remastered/re-released at some point.
I need parasite eve 1&2 remakes with the full re4 treatment 😩
