The most heartbreaking thing for me was that the developers of Trigun decided to not embrace the cliche of "being ready for death". That made the whole scene much more gritty and realistic, seeing a man who had just come across something good in his life get taken away so quickly... It was pure genius.
Nice to read someone else's awesome interpretation of Nicholas D. Wolfwood! I have been watching this video for 16 years (autistic) probably more than 5,000 times, because I LOVE the travelings priest who understood the real philosophy was balance, not all or none like Vash and he paid for the truth with his life. Vashes philosophy would have gotten the children killed, it was Nicholas's that kept them alive! Love.....11 years later my friend......is not a VICTORY MARCH.....it's a cold and a broken hallelujah!! God bless!

This not only clearly implies that Wolfwood truly loved Milly, but it also increases the impact his death scene had. Wolfwood DID sleep with Milly, and the series is better off for it.

I've finished the first two volumes of Trigun manga. I think, from what I can see so far, that the anime is better. The anime seems more refined and civilized and it really feels like it's going somewhere. The manga isn't bad, but the art style is hard to make out at times and the plot is presented in a more confusing and less appealing way than that of the anime version. You're also introduced to Knives early in the manga, whereas in the anime their is greater suspense in who Knives is at all.
In the manga he doesn't sleep with anyone, but he kills a lot more people. In short Trigun Maximum would be the most epic anime of all time! Also real nice AMV you got the pacing down really well.
