Its funny you mention that actually 2 years ago I went to Hungaroring for F1 for the first time in my life and when the GP2's went past was the only vehicle where I had to cover my ears. Was kinda disappointing knowing that I missed the F1 golden years :(
+UKFreedomFighters That bike is hell of fun to ride. You got just enough power to have fun, not too much to get seriously hurt (still possible if you're incompetent though) and the 20k rpm do the rest!
Hell, it wouldn't even bee THAT overpowered compared to 600cc shifter carts. If you bumped up tire and rim diameter to something like formula 1000 levels, it'd be downright TAME.
Just bought a '92 zxr250/zx2r with 22,000km & I'm stoked as ferk! If you can get your hands on one, do it now before they're all wrecked, tracked or collector's items.

owning the ZX2R 250C, its a lovely bike.. In the process of getting it back on the road.. Cant wait.. Still eats new 250s based on recent races with friends

My SR650 with the open megaphone is THE sound. The bike in this video sounds like a 120V sewing machine on 440V. Annoying. What is a "ZX2R"? Is it 200cc's?
juz4lolz So each piston is equal to 62 and a quarter cc's? Imagine, four moped engines being wrung out together! My 1979 YamahaSR500 has 40 cubic inches and only ONE piston. With an open megaphone, the sound is incredible. Not like a pissed-off beehive.
they were here or other models that are the equivalent would be a honda cbr250 or 250rr (mc17, mc19, and mc22 i think). they called it the zx2r but here think it was called the zxr-250.
i LOVE these tiny inline-4s... They sound and feel like they're doing a bazillion miles an hour while in the real world you're doing a safe and easily manageable 40.

back in the mid 90's west coast bikes in southport (uk) used to import cbr250 mini blades, gsx-r 250, there were loads of these screeming 250's from japan, nearly bought a suzy 250 katana. lol they had a red line at 19500 rpm.
2 Strokes have half the cycle of a 4 Stroke so... 4 Stroke running at 10000 is like a 2 Stroke running 5000. And I don't want an argument so please don't start one.
Leiberg I've got a v-twin 250 2-stroke that will do 15,000rpm, and I've had a single cylinder that would hit 13,500. This Kawasaki will deliver it's power throughout the rev range, and 2t delivers the whole whack in a space of 4 - 5000rpm and produces about 50% more power. I've just got to spend a lot on pistons! Each to their own, I love both, it depends what you like and what is affordable. Cheap pistons and expensive beer! Ride carefully guys.
Dig the little 250 4's. Have an 88 FZR and my sister has a 91 CBR. They sound fantastic. Expensive, a pain to work on but the sound and riding enjoyment make it all worth it. Granted they both have exhausts = quieter- CBR's is aftermarket - need one for my FZR. Hope that ZX2R was jetted correctly for the lack of exhaust!

Geez, that's the best sounding 250cc engine i've ever heard. I'm sure blasting through a tunnel on that at full throttle would be INSANE.
Forget speed, as long as it goes ok the sound is well worth it for cruising!
+UKFreedomFighters That bike is hell of fun to ride. You got just enough power to have fun, not too much to get seriously hurt (still possible if you're incompetent though) and the 20k rpm do the rest!

I love how your not even doing 30mph and it sounds like an F1 car screaming down at some ridiculous speed! This sound rocks!

These hit over 200kmh
@@unclejohn5012 but these are hard to find, CBR250rr are a great alternative.
@Dimas Putra the 90s Cbr250rr was an inline 4 that hit redline at 19,000rpm
@Dimas Putra fair enough mate, the new one is a parallel twin but the one sugar bombs is referring to would be and old mc19 or mc22
@Dimas Putra I 100% agree I still get confused when people talk about the new one I keep forgetting it exits and isn’t an inline 4
Cant still fucking believe that's a 250cc in-line 4 mechine!!
I had a ZXR250c, the exhaust note on these Kawas was simply amazing... That deep bellow sound increasing over the rev range to 20k is just eargasm!
Tom: i think ZX2R is the best sounding Bike i ever drove

A wankel is doing 3strokes at once and this (mazda) one has got 4 of them 3×4=12

Why did they stop making 4 cyl 250's?
xjado321 to heavy,to much fuel consumption, higher probability of breaking it
xjado321 Because they were pretty horrible to ride, and the carbie's frequently clog up because they are so tiny, and they were very expensive to manufacture compared to a single.
