As always from you Dave, another super video and excellent result of hours of hard work. And the slogan.... DEAN PARK STATION: A SUPERB PLACE TO STOP AND EXPLORE Cheers, Bob
Cheers Bob....lots of work went in to that. Thanks for the slogan....I shall add it to the list. I have had so many via fb, message and posts on here its going to be difficult. Lots I can use, some I cant lol. Cheers. Dave
Hi Dave, the detail work is fantastic and I love the stories behind them - adds so much depth to the layout. I'm sure it's in your plans as you''re going to be working on that area, but at 04:10 I'm really wishing there was something in the tunnel to mask that train rounding the corner... Oh and a slogan? "Dean Park Station - Scot it all!" (I'll get my coat...) Cheers, Nick
Superb video as always Dave, your detailing is phenomenal. If I may, here's my suggestion for a slogan. Dean Park: Great models. Great scenery. Great Scot.
Great update on the disused siding. Especially like the way you have graduated the disused-ness as it goes along. I still reckon you could use a manky puddle under that bridge - it is Scotland after all! Cheers
I’ve replaced most of my Hornby, Bachmann and Heljan Stock tension lock couplers with Bachmanns Roco style couplers that Bachmann used on there 166,170s and old tooling 158s. You get good close coupling and can cope with sharpish curves.
The siding is looking great Dave. Very realistic. I buy the Roco type couplers you have on the middle train in packs of 10 from Bachmann when I can find them. The last I got were £5.30. Make Dean Park station your destination Regular trains from all the nation.
Brilliant Dave, love the disused line area and the debris throw over the bridge. Youre giving me ideas... Really enjoy your videos, sooooo inspiring. Regarding your competition I thought ‘Exploring Scotland...’
Hi Dave. Great up date the embankment is looking fantastic love all the bits of detail. Also I am sure when you start your T.M.D. area it will all come together amazingly like the rest of your layout. Well done keep up the excellent work. Regards George...
Thanks George, I hope the tmd will turn out to be a success. I will take my time to make sure it can! The details make a layout, do you think? Cheers. Dave
Loving the little details, Dave. I have those bramble bushes along the embankment at the back of the house and over the past 30 years they have taken over everything. I used to play on the land at the top of the embankment as a kid but now those bushes are at least seven feet tall as far as the eye can see! Here's my suggestion for a slogan; "Getting you home on time every time." With fine print underneath reading; "Disclaimer : Timetables are subject to change in the event of delays." Mike.
Hi, yeah embankments etc have just been allowed to get out of hand....block out the view of the trains as well. Thanks for the suggestion...Cheers. Dave
Great update Dave, really enjoyable to watch. The new scenery additions have added even more to the look of your layout. I also like the sound of your plans for the area around the TMD. As for a slogan how about this "Dean Park Station - Scot's the way to do it". I look forward to your next video. Be well and keep safe, regards Gary.
HI, cheers. The tmd will take up most of my time for a few months yet! Lots a scratch building to be done and I don't plan to rush it, as I want to get it 'just right'...if I can. Cheers. Dave
About time you started that TMD, putting mine off cause I want to see how yours goes first. Love the embankment and siding, very run down part of Dean Park. Slogan This is Scotland so unlike Southern our trains run Andy
Hi Dave, Kevin from NZ. Looking awesome and I cannot wait to see how your TMD comes out. Hope you have luck with your slogan and you get one to suit your layout. I must admit I like Nick Keys one - It really sings!
Concerning your close coupling system. I use the fleischmann profi close couplers on everyhing, push-pull trains as pull only, I have little ot no issues with it. Succes.
I've got to the stage now Dave where I'm thinking that there must be some faults somewhere on the layout..but no...not one single thing!....Absolutely faultless as always.
Hi there I think that your layout is one of if not the best . For the attention to detail I must get on with my layout .Iam visting Scotland in two weeks Iam going to model rail Scotland which Iam looking forward too
Hi Paul, thank you so much for your kind words. I too will be at Model Rail Scotland....look out for me, I will be there on the Saturday wearing a blue hoodie with Dean Park writing on the back. If you see me, pop up and say hello. I always like to meet the guys who support my channel. Cheers. Dave
Really enjoy watching all your how to videos, they are really helping us with our layout thanks David, a few suggestions from the cadets of 163 Sqn ATC Detail That Goes the distance Driven by Detail
hi....thanks. I have had so many entires, some based on the real railways, ie "Scotrail in miniature" and lots to do with my layout "detail that goes the distance" etc. I will just put the best 10 or so in a hat and pick the winner. I have had a great response both on here and on my Dean Park Station face book group.
Hi Dave, details look great. It's surprising how a small area can take time when you're working out and setting up small cameos. How about "With Intercity you're sitting pretty". Regards Bobby "T".
It's bad that my first thought when seeing the disused part of the siding was "hope they've got the Network Change done to officially take it out of use"...
Hi Dave. Over the last few months and on the recommendation of Richard from Everard Junction, I have watched all 188 videos which are not only highly informative but also interesting. So much so I am intending to follow in your footsteps and will be investing time and funds into starting up my own model railway. Not to the extent you have gone to, which is phenomenal, but on a smaller scale. Thank you for bring your experience of Model Railways to the general public. On a lighter note, I would like to enter your slogan competition with my meagre offering, "Wats on at Dean Park Station?" which is a play on the surname, Watson. Hope you like it. Best regards.
Hi, thanks for getting in touch and for letting me know how you found me. I will get Richards 48,000 subbers ones day lol. I am impressed you'd sat through all of the videos lol....thanks. As for the slogan, very clever!...its added to the list. ;-) Dave
