    I want a video by the guy who tuned these snares. He is a God.

    • @dankatz3810
      @dankatz3810 6 лет назад +7

      It's kind of not fair. Most snares there have the CS head on them. You get the true nature of a drum with an ambassador. Any other drum head changes the fundamental sound of the drum.

    • @dankatz3810
      @dankatz3810 6 лет назад +8

      Or a G1... You get my point. Single ply, no dots, no rings, no vents. Let's not turn it into a Remo vs. Evans battle. Both companies manufacture very good products.

    • @AquaAnim
      @AquaAnim 6 лет назад +3

      Dan Katz whos says you get the true nature with an Ambassador, and what reasoning do you have for stating that?

    • @luke_sz77-49
      @luke_sz77-49 6 лет назад +4

      AquaAnim you get the true nature from a snare with an ambassador/G1 head because an ambassador/G1 brings out the true overtones of the snare. However, they have used a controlled sound coated on some of the snares which doesn’t bring out the true overtones as the controlled sound includes a dot which affects the sound of the drum. They still all sound sick tho.

      Blake Gowan There’s no magic to tuning snares. Tune the reso head to a 4th or a 5th above the batter and you’ll have a God tier tuning with any quality snare. A touch of moon gel or even a small piece of office paper taped to the head works for me in any setting.

    • @roybeckerman9253
      @roybeckerman9253 4 года назад +3

      Joe Rico
      Steve Maxwell tunes his batter head tighter than the bottom head, by about 30 percent and they all sound great.
      Maybe there is no right or wrong way...just personal taste.

      So the Phosphorus Bronze snare is a 5mm shell while the regular Bronze is a 1mm shell.
      The Phosphorus Bronze is going to be heavier both in weight and in tonal quality. The regular Bronze snare will be a little bit more warm sounding.
      Thanks for the inquiry.

    • @1dudecrush
      @1dudecrush 5 лет назад

      Yes, it's true they were bought by Gretsch. I've heard that it's the best thing that's happened to them in recent times. Their QC in the last decade or so suffered heavily for some reason, and is now better than ever before. DW is doing their best not to fuck with the sound or mojo in the Gretsch name too, just lending that helpful boost that a powerhouse like them can afford.
