Deciding not to push through not ending XC3 was a good decision. At least you'll get a better foundation on the blade series before finally finishing XC3. Hope you consider playing XC2 as well! I love this trilogy so much and I hope you get to enjoy it to its fullest too.

I think I'll have to move xenoblade up in my list, I knew the story would be interesting but liked the hybrid turn-based combat Guess I'll go the Rita route and play XC3 and watch XC1 with you! :)
-healers are optional in 1-2, defender are just attacker but less squishy and shulk is your do-it-all, heals buffs and deals damage -early game healers are essential, but mid-late game shulk and other party members with healing arts will do the job just fine -if you don't feel like thinking about your lineup a lot just use shulk and any other party member you like time to binge the vods
Xenoblade almost didn't get a North American release, as Reggie didn't think it would sell in the States due to it being a late Wii release. But then he changed his mind on it after Operation Rainfall took place which eventually got Xenoblade released in the States. The release of the game and getting it into the hands of the masses in the States was very turbulent. The Wii release of the game was a Gamestop exclusive for which Gamestop did some shady stuff with their exclusivity by withholding their allotted supply for regular buyers at launch, purposely opening those copies that weren't pre-order holds, then selling those opened copies to everyone at a later time for MSRP. After Nintendo found out about it, Nintendo ceased exclusivity of most major game titles to them for the scandal that took place. Then there was the New 3DS version of the game. Sure it was a damn good port of a Wii game to the 3DS platform with more copies circulated. But the problem with it was that it last limited to anyone who had the midlife upgrade system of the 3DS over the original base model. Therefore limiting the scope of who could play the game over not. The DE Switch version is the most accessible as it has all the things from the original base game RMed or refined in the style of the 2nd game, as well as all of the the cut content that didn't make it into the final build of the original game for the Wii and the New 3DS port. The epilogue add-on is luckily on the cart with no need to deal with downloading all of that to the SD card. Now that you are in Colony 6, ya now need to complete all the side quests with an orange clock next to it before defeating that area's final boss. Because once ya defeat the final boss in that area, those side quests will no longer be doable at all. The same will happen later on in the game when ya reach those areas.
It's also why we over in Europe got the UK translation and voice acting, which became a kinda unique like mainstay for the entire main series. Same happened with amazing Wii JRPG's The Last Story and Pandor's Tower at the time being UK translated with VAs. It was sad that NOA at the time went outta their way to bury what has now become a major IP and one of the great video game series :-)
