Russell has a downforce biased setup while Kubica has the opposite, there's how Robert gained on the straights and lost massive time carrying 20kph less than George on the fast right hander at turn 5 I think, there is the .5 sec difference
@@kas-lw7xz Russell is accelerating faster in the corners and thats why he has better exits. Its because of more downforce. Kubica is on the curb longer while driving with slower speed than Russell.
Actually Kubica brakes for T1 like 0.25 seconds later, somehow matches Russel at the end of S1. But more agressive approach takes toll on tire temperature and entering Ferradura he loses like half of the second which is lightyears on such short track.
I think it's more setup. Kubica seems to be driving with less downforce as he is at 5 mph higher speedwise at the breaking zone of the corner. This later breaking means that he gets on the acceleration later. That explains why they're equal after S1 the lower downforce.

Watched at 0.25 speed. Russel starts to accelerate way sooner than Robert. That’s the difference.
u dont need to watch at 0.25 speed to tell that
He also brakes earlier since he is ahead. The real big difference is cornering speed. Kubica running less downforce as you can see from the straights
Russel can also get way more lock on the steering wheel
@@NippyMoto That's due to Robert only having one arm

Russell's car run more downforce hence better acceleration, Kubica's car run less downforce hence better top speed but slow at acceleration.
Dkfilms no, you can see Kubica has high top speeds on the straights. That is only possible if he has less drag. So thats less downforce
