The true beauty of the Rammstein percussion is it's simplicity. There's no need for a "Danny Carey playing 50 gazillion different time signatures in the span of 5 minutes blasting your brain with insanity". Just clean playing that gets your body moving!

I agree! The groove on Rammstein is key! It's all about power and pocket! Although I am a fan of busy playing (when appropriate) it's always fun to just ply in the pocket!

Thanks for watching! I use a Shure SM-57 on the snare, electro-voice PL35s on all the toms, a Shure PGA-52 for the kick (through the port), two Rode NT5s as the overheads. They all connect into the Tascam US-16X08 Digital interface, which you can see over my right shoulder on my desk in the video. I use Mogami XLR cables. The Tascam is USB connected to the computer, and I record into Logic.
