When I was a kid I worked at Glen Bait near the Glen Hotel. We could never get enough of these worms and the arguments would rage over what was best, beach or blood worms. Both types catch fish well. The only real difference I could find is that the beach worm is the better prospect for preserving. Why would you preserve worms? Well, sometimes you have a lot of pickers when you are fishing and the little guys rob your bait. Salted beach worms are a tough bait that clings to the hook. Anyhow, I have used either type with success. Worms are a great bait, beach or blood. But get this; I have seen top bream caught on garden worms. Go figure . . .
We have been catching blood worms at cabbage tree point for years, the same mud bank for over 20 years , and the same volume of worms every time.......cabbage tree point, land based they are plentiful.... that's why you buy them from the gem bait and tackle so easily
Paul Grove, This video learns how to dig bloodworms when Youngy digs through the mud to get bloodworms, Not to make you cry. You should know that Digging Bloodworms don't make you cry. You should not cry over the video being bad.
It is odd becuase the regulations only pertain to the worms harvested commecially and commercial opperators are exempt from those bag limits. The worms dug in the mud foreshores by anglers are a different species and are not covered by the current per person bag limit. So if they are ment to protect the worms, it would seem the dollars raised by commercial permit fees are more important.
Thats right dave.

are the restrictions for harvesting blood worms due to environmental protection because im assuming there vital to the ecosystem?
is this salt shore?
looks like a lot of work.
i dont think u had to blur it out. just saying
I would stick with beach worms for catching whiting. Too much hustle with this bloodworm IMHO.
hey somebody knows how to keep alive the bloodworms...?
Cold salt water with aquarium air pump or keep them in a tray in a fridge
A excellent bait for Jewfish and bream also
@northernpike56 Yes, much better.
