How County Lines Gangs Are Using CHILDREN To Run Huge Drugs Networks Around Britain

  • In a recent episode of Crime Suspect, the focus was on the war on drugs and the impact it has on organised crime and vulnerable individuals. City gangs across the UK have been targeted by police in an effort to combat County Lines drug dealers. However, experts argue that more needs to be done to protect those who are most susceptible to the influence of ruthless gangsters.
The discussion also highlighted the need for a health-based approach to tackle the drug problem, as traditional policing efforts seem to only sharpen the sword of organised crime. On this week's Crime Suspect former Met Detective Peter Bleksley is joined by former Prisons Minister Ann Widdecombe and former undercover officer Neil Woods and former gang member turned mentor and youth worker Nequela Whittaker.
The panel on Crime Suspect emphasised the widespread nature of county lines operations and the dangers posed by the criminals running them. It was revealed that the estimated number of children being exploited into drug dealing and County Lines activities was around 50,000, a figure that is expected to increase. The exploitation of children is seen as a tactical response by organised crime to the successes of the police.
Despite the raids, seizures, and arrests, the size of the drug market remains the same, allowing criminals to continue exploiting vulnerable individuals. Former gang member turned mentor and youth worker, Nequela Whittaker, sheds light on the issue of peer-to-peer grooming within drug gangs. She highlighted the alarming trend of girls recruiting their friends into the cycle of exploitation. Young girls are coerced into drug dealing through manipulation and promises of glamour, perpetuating the cycle of victimisation.
Whittaker argued that the current arrests and imprisonment of low-level gang members are not enough to break the cycle, as the top players continue to evade capture. Click here for more from

There’s no surprise the MP who has served as one of the longest standing MP’s is so out of touch with the day to day reality of life and the majority of the population. Adamantly stamping on logical proven ways in many other countries of dealing with the issue, staying with an old style approach that has never worked and has made it all worse in all areas and thinking what they’re currently doing is effective!! Absolutely ridiculous we have so many out of touch people running the country where a huge percentage of MP’s & civil servants are sniffing up powder in the cubicle or room next to her in the Houses of Parliament, so naive.

But now they don't want to put their hands-on even a packet of rizla , ask yourself this question, Why did the british government have british soldiers guarding afghani heroin poppy Fields in the afghanistan war, yes its fact, its no secret if you research your history that the British government and royalty has made billions. And billions of pounds from the importation and moving around the world of heroin and opium, It is also a proven fact that the CIA in the US made billions from the import And export of cocaine into their own country and across europe,

How things change and how weak we have become as a nation, If an ocg, had decided to open shop in my granddad's neighbourhood For example, they would have be met with force in numbers, and they would be gotten rid of, By all means available, Because they knew back then if they didnt act forcefully And promptly. There children and community would be at serious risk from these type of people, We have reached a point that is called "normalcy bias", We are so weak that we just accept These drug dealers and drug addicts destroying our communities one by one is normal. Those that turn a blind eye And do not act to prevent it better except that it's going to be normal for their kids to be gang bangers and junkies as well. Stop hiding behind the curtains.

Some really good points made by all the guests - even Anne Widdecombe and I’m no fan of hers!!
4:30 - Former officer said the size of the market and the demand is the problem - too right!
13:58 - Anne says if you don’t combat demand the same way you combat supply, the problem will not go away!
Never thought I’d hear myself agree with anyone from the Conservative Party but this is so, so true.
So why has demand increased is really the issue? Well, the punishments for being in possession (for use not supply) don’t seem to be as great (if at all) for supply.
Also, these young children as well as other gang members and dealers help to create new users by giving freebies or getting people hooked.
Also, as someone else commented on here, the social and wealth inequality as well as the cost of living pressures have become incredibly great. Many people are struggling which leads to depression, which leads some to take drugs to numb the pain. Also as the former cop said, those users who self-medicate to combat (doesn’t work) trauma.
These are not even the reasons for all drug use but some.
But I agree - combat demand and supply will sort itself out.
Lastly, I forgot to say that count lines is nothing new but I agree that it probably has got worse in how it operates and the number of people involved.
The reality is, if you live in a city like London you will go past many, many people each day who are involved in this criminality as some level. Whether school kids, teens on bikes, scooters, standing or street corners or other than that. It’s now become woven into society.

The bald gentlemen is very well read, but when it comes to the lower class and his understanding on why things take place and how to realistically deal with the issues, he hasn't got a clue.
The exploitation part is just part and parcel of the industry.
The olders send out youngers to sell drugs in country and its a way for the youngers to get into the group/gang.
You only combat this road culture by de-glorifying it.
The girl is wrong as well, her suggestion of support just supports addicts to stay and play the victim card.
If young, impressionable people look at something as unappealing then they wont gravitate towards it.
Taking drugs away is not realistic as they don't supply it anyways and the government cant afford to keep so many people in custody over such small crimes when larger scale crimes are taking place! plus unavertable, when you deprive people of something then the demand goes up as does the price which cause more crime to take place to so criminals can afford the newer, higher prices criminals put on their product.

If alcohol was to be introduced today it would be immediately a Class A drug just like heroin and cocaine. Countries that have moved drug policy from criminal justice to health have seen vast decreases in problematic drug use. It's not about creating a free for all it is about regulating the market. He called a child, set him in front of them, and said, ‘I tell you this: unless you turn round and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven.
Let a man humble himself till he is like this child, and he will be the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me. But if a man is a cause of stumbling to one of these little ones who have faith in me, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung round his neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.
Alas for the world that such causes of stumbling arise! Come they must, but woe betide the man through whom they come!’” - (at Matthew 18: 1-7) -

For the sake of peace and humanity: “Always treat others as you would like them to treat you.” And “Love your neighbour as yourself.” That is the Law and the Prophets of God our Father in heaven.
So never worship and pray in the way of the many false prophets who lead all religions.
“But when you pray, go into a room by yourself, and shut the door. Pray to your Father who is there in the secret place; and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you.
In your prayers do not go babbling on like the heathen, who imagine that the more they say the more likely they are to be heard.
Do not imitate them. Your Father knows what your needs are before you ask him.
This is how you should pray:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come; your will be done, on earth as in heaven,
Give us today our daily bread,
Forgive us the wrong we have done, as we have forgiven those who have wronged us.
And do not bring us to the test, but save us from the evil one.
For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, for ever.
      Amen.
