    I picked up an original bright blue Nuvo flute about 6 years ago because I saw pictures of it online and was intrigued. I was amazed at how good it sounded, although I did have to work a bit harder to get a similar sound to my professional model flute. About a year ago I succumbed to the lure of the darker blue newer model, with the reports of it having a better sound, and I like this one even better. I wish these flutes had been around when I was a beginner, many decades ago, and particularly in high school marching band.
    The Nuvo makes a great traveling and "goofing off" flute. I feel comfortable taking it along on adventures where I would hesitate to take the good flute. If I accidentally drop it into a creek when hiking, it will not be harmed. In fact, the original bright blue Nuvo was baptized with me in the Jordan River on my 2015 trip to Israel.

    They all sound really good for student flutes, especially for the price, but there is a significant improvement in the new models. I’m going to get one for myself. Thanks for the review.

    A very good comparison, best part is having a non-fluetist involved giving her impression; truly good idea.

    When the child grows big enough for a full-length flute, you can buy the head and foot joints for the Nuvo Student Flute separately and transform those beginner flutes into a full-length student flute.

    Thanks for this! I teach flute in Japan to elementary-high school. I love the donut! I have has no success with the J silver adaptation for short students! Could you tell me about the amount of incut in the embouchure hole? Also is the 2.0 a bit thinner than the 1.0? Thanks so much!

    For suggestion on future videos: dislike the regular "popping" sound when text appears. Painful if wearing headphones. I do like the tone of the new jFlute much better than the older version.

    Hi!! thank you for your video! Helped me a lot! One question: do you know if I can use the headjoint from my silver flute on this Nuvo flute? Or even a wooden head joint? I mean, do the Nuvo flute body adapt to other headjoints? Thank you in advance!

    This makes me wonder if regular alto or bass flutes might benefit from such a donut shaped headpiece?

      If you play flute Student Flute or if you just want to try it cheap look at the Nuvo Toot. My daughter started on that then moved up to the j-flute.

    Well adding the optional fit joint and straight head to the j flute make it the same as the student flute 2.0? Help?

    What is the diff between flute student and jflute?

    • @FluteAndMusicAcademy
      @FluteAndMusicAcademy  5 лет назад +4

      Hi there, in short
      Jflute is a flute in C designed for 4 to 10yo, hence it is shorter, lighter and plays to D.
      On the other hand, the student flute is a standard size flute in C.
      Hope this helps.

    J head. Where is the bottom joint? It's missing. Where is the C and sharp? They're not there. What kind of a flute is this ? 😮😮😮😮

      This is the junior flute - it only plays to D. But it's compatible with student flute parts - in other words, you can upgrade it to student flute
