THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'm going to attempt to fix my own spark plugs. It doesn't look too complicated thanks to your very detailed and easy to follow video. 😁
Thank you, thank you! I have this same engine in my 2016 Buick Regal GS and am going to replace the spark plugs myself. This video just showed me how easy it is to do. Dealership was going to charge close to $400 for this!
Thank you for this detailed video. I have been needing to change mine for quite some time. TODAY IS THE DAY. This video gave me confidence that I will be able to complete this in minutes just in time to go to work.
Great video and step-by-step guide. Do you have to change the coils when replacing the spark plugs? I don't have a code, I just have a louder than normal idle noise that seems to signal tune up I just did an oil change I'm thinking plugs are next
Thank you🙂...No, you dont have to..but i have had a couple ignition coils fail on that same car in the time theyve owned it..so maybe if it has higher mileage u may as a preventative maintenance
@@backyardchevy328 ok thanks its not high mileage, I'll just replace the plugs and go from there. Keep doing what you're doing and empowering the DIY people out there 👍🏽
Yeah I just started to notice a slightly louder idle noise and was thinking it might be the spark plugs needing to get change. I just hit 85,000 and I believe everything is still stock. Should I also change the coils or just the plugs?
Thank you for showing us the basic steps like how to disconnect the connector. As a beginner DYI I've had problems separating connectors in the past. Also, thank you for the reminder that turbo engines need their spark plugs replaced more frequently.
Hey BC hope all is well... On 96 trans am (M6).. is having issues starting sometimes... It has a brand new starter ..brand new battery ..the opti-spark has 50,000 miles.. now I can hear the solenoid engaging but sometimes it just won't turn over... So I have to resort to jump starting it from time to time .. if you have any possible ideas I would greatly appreciate them 👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲
I had a friend who bought a starter on ebay and it would do the exact same thing..then ended up replacing the starter for a new one a good brand starter and it fixed the issue. Also was it a new or remanufactured starter? Does it always works when u jump start it?
@@travisquintero8334 maybe the battery has a bad cell, so its not supplying enough cranking amps..maybe u can remove the battery and have it tested at an auto parts store if u dont have a battery tester. ..or try cleaning the connections to the battery, maybe its not getting great contact
No, i mean all spark plugs as long as theyre the right ones for the car and gapped to the vehicles specs do their job..although some u do notice work better..but ive only had very few instances where i had to redo spark plugs because the plugs felt horrible
Which one is better ACDelco 41-125 Professional Iridium Spark or ACDelco 41-814 Professional Platinum Spark for 2015 Malibu 2.0 T. Which one suits it better kindly advise. I
Well theyll both work good but iridiums have a longer life than platinum and i feel they work better on these turbo models cause of higher melting point as well
My 2016 Malibu slowly reduces speed while I’m driving. What causes that issue? I have to pull over and turn the car off and then it’s fine for a few miles but will randomly reduce power again.
@@dkstatus24 yea, its just hard to explain how..but you rotate the plug back in and once u feel it touch against the bottom..u do an extra 1/16th of a turn
When I'm stopped at low rpms it doesn't want to go I'm on a budget so I can't take it to a me hands I have to give it gas slowly my tahoe did a similar thing ended being the throttle body needed a cleaning
@@hitmanm818 i did a video on that recently for this same car..and thats what would happen when it would go into limp mode..maybe u could try cleaning it and see if it helps.
No, u don't have to..its just more of a safety thing..just to prevent any possible scenario where a tool falls near the alternator, starter or any battery connection and have the tool connect it to a ground..or in case someone possibly tries to crank it while ur working on it..just to avoid those types of things...but if u do choose to disconnect it..u just gotta remove the negative terminal
Finally. A good quality video with a well spoken individual followed with clear instructions.
Great job with this video. Very detailed and clearly explained, and the camera video quality is great, too.

Hi, what's the torque value for spark plugs in 2015 chevy malibu 2.0t? Thanks
13 ft lbs
Right on, so basically it goes by tread diameter?
@@scorpioknight4 yes
How do u know if it's 6T40/6T70
Perfect video
Thank you🙂
How do you know if you're tightening the spark plug to speck?
Well best way is to use a torque wrench and setting it to the torque value, which should be in my video
@@backyardchevy328 I seemed to have loss my torque wrench. Could I just use a regular ratchet?

You haven't mention if we new to disconnect the battery or not.?
Why did u replace the recoil connector?
The ignition coil? It had a cylinder misfire which i did a separate video on
I'm wondering if it's my sparkplug or catalytic converter messing with my car

Why not use a Milwaukee??
