It's all about attitude if a person is ready unlearn and learn he can learn any skill and upskill himself. So please remove that thought to hire only non IT candidates, please don't have that Bias, hire for attitude & willingness to learn and everything will fall in place 👍
Not really bias brother, most IT candidates are preferred by larger companies so we recruited non IT candidates, they seem to perform well so mentioned. We may be the only company recruit even when they have arrears and give leave for their arrear exams too :)

Everything Accepted Expect your learning about studies in the "computer science" syllabus. Colleges are fun and Learn many things. It depends on you!!. how you learn with the outdated syllabus if you cannot learn the basic concept how you will survive in your current field?!!!
You dont need history of java and old data structure concpets when we are using nosql these days. I believe University syllabus dont get update each year.

Query is ... I'm almost like you brother. What we need to answer when a recruiter ask why you are not fix with one particular area! And they also add a doubt like how you can focus on single work if I hire you?!?
I have multiple resume profiles, when i go and apply for civil engineering i would add only the civil related stuff nothing related to IT security, Virus research or Facade or anything. similarly when I apply for Fibre optics, GIS, IT i would have only related information in that. Yes they would doubt you. Most people don't believe you if you say you make 1 cr as civil engineer as well in IT, guess what i dont care if they believe me or not, you give me a job I am irreplaceable.
