Cool video Larry, but I'm not sure you can chalk up the whole change in TAS to the fairings alone. Your original screenshot showed that you were at 2500 ft on the before, and your second test was at 4000 feet. Higher up you should have a higher TAS. I would think a better test would be at the same density altitude.
@alanverity341 i used 3 rivnuts. 2 under the wind and one on the factory vertical faring. others use 3m 2 sided tape. I went the way I did so I could remove them to inspect during my condition inspection.
I have a 2008 601xl SLSA much like the one you helped on JR Aviation. Can you predict my cruise increase and stall for my airplane? It has a Continental 0-200, 100HP. Thanks.
Nice video Larry. Thanks for testing the new fairings and congrats on your instrument written!

@spapantherbuilder5923 i have tested same DA and altitude. I just didn't have a good screenshot of the EFIS at that altitude.
@@zenvairpilot Good deal! And congrats on passing the IR written
Wheel pants might get you 5kn more - at least that is what happens on average in Cozy Mk4, maybe less because that is faster cruiser.
I'm thinking about that next.
I've looked at them and the website doesn't show any installed pics or details of how to best secure them in place

@@zenvairpilotwould you be able to do a video showing the details of all this?
Nice video, for future reference, the squeaking noise in the background was distracting.
@@scottmiller4711 i know. hangar doors were blowing around. I need to have them lubricated.
You keep costing me money. . . I wondered too about all that open space under the tail. What is the weight gain?
@@deutschlehrer51 less than a pound

probably similar to what I got. Stall didn't have a real change.
