Draft a couple outfielders and you're set. And you still have Perez, Alcantara, BOTH Meyers, Hampton and White.

Trade SIM has the total value going to Miami at 29.7 and them getting 30.7. Forget Luzardo, he hasn't performed well enough to be remotely close to worth what you're suggesting. And the starting pitching hasn't really been an issue. Everyone in the rotation right now is pitching better than Luzardo. And the upgrade from Gleyber to Arraez is substantial, will help the team more than getting Luzardo and would cost WAY less. Now if at the deadline, Cole still isn't back or he's not the same guy... Then maybe swing a deal for a pitcher. But I would go for a more proven guy than someone with a mid 4 career ERA and a current ERA over 7. Not sure how that eases any "problem" at the top of the rotation. I mean, Rodon has a sub 2 ERA, Stroman had literally one bad inning so far this year and Cole is back in a month or so... Meanwhile, the team is third in team ERA, second in Batting Average Against and ninth in WHIP... And they have the best record in baseball... So I don't see what the problem is really.

A local Jorge Mas tried and got as far as sending his business plan for the franchise to MLB when they were up for sale and his plan was to pay the players and keep the team together and buy some relief pitching but the commissioner loved sucking on Jeters knob so that ownership group got the team, like Jeter was going to spend the money he amassed as a player on other players, he invested 25mil in the purchase and his salary was 5mil a year so he could get his money back in 5yrs while being in control of operations without any experience, not one player he drafted did anything and they were all for the most part very early picks except for 2018 and all the players he traded neted them really only Sandy Alcantara. A local Jorge Mas tried and got as far as sending his business plan for the franchise to MLB when they were up for sale and his plan was to pay the players and keep the team together and buy some relief pitching but the commissioner loved sucking on Jeters knob so that ownership group got the team, like Jeter was going to spend the money he amassed as a player on other players, he invested 25mil in the purchase and his salary was 5mil a year so he could get his money back in 5yrs while being in control of operations without any experience, not one player he drafted did anything and they were all for the most part very early picks except for 2018 and all the players he traded neted them really only Sandy Alcantara.
Jeter is one of the greatest players ever but had no business being in charge of the franchise.
