That has to be one of the greatest breakdowns ever. Period.
biomerc 84 yeah the end is too heavy fml
Biggest pit I've ever been in (Wembley Arena, London) was to this breakdown
@@JohnTheHunterDood the end is the best, it just hits so hard
You've obviously not heard alot of breakdowns lol
2022, probably still my favorite breakdown of all time
"It's true what they say, life isn't fair"
RIP Tom, you will never be forgotten, a musical genius taken before his time
life time slaving living in a suburban grave
idk why they didn't repeat this line as a chorus, it's absolutely amazing
I am shocked with the amount of truth I already knew spitted in my face in such a badass way
Spit*
Rekt sorry, English is not my first language :P
Thats alright man. It's most likely that @Rekt can't speak two languages.
Rekt lol you mean spat m8
A bit late but i think Rekt literally and ironically just got Rekt.
I will always miss this Architects, and I'll miss Tom. he was a genius
I second that dude. I really do hope they pull another masterpiece like this out the bag within the next couple of years, even with the "new" sound
@@BlindingSon wont happen brother, the songwriter already gone with the wind, they changed the whole sound due to the message they deliver aint written/came from Tom no more
word rip
I don't think anyone would have understand what this song was about if the video wasn't there. This song makes me shiver every time I hear it. It really makes you think.
Yeah but sometimes the lyrics are hard to hear or understand for that matter. A lot of people don't really listen to what the lyrics mean, they just listen to the music but this video really got my attention and I feel it got others attention too.
Dan Johnson Yeah I meant the screaming. You would have to be insane to not know what the lyrics mean
Personally I think I'd get it.
I kind of got the meaning of the song when hearing the line "And in the land of the free, you know nothing comes for free." It's not that hard to understand if you take the time and let the lyrics sink in.
"These colors dont run" is a saying in America.
The lyrics to this song are fucking brilliant.
They're really not, haha, expand your reading. The message is good though.
Agreed, but just because they're simple doesn't mean they aren't good. "Expand your reading", fuck off, keep your nose out.
It's implied that they're good, 'good message.' to some extent I owe an apology on the grounds that a political message must be delivered with a certain level of coherence - otherwise the message is lost - and in this respect, the lyrics are successful. However, despite the occasional nice aphorism, the lyrics are slightly marred by some confusing poetical attempts and for this I would not clarify them as 'fucking amazing.'
Just found this video, and your profile picture goes great with your comment. xD
I am.
2024. Still a banger.
This song is so relatable right now 2020. whoever is watching this please make this more popular. Everyone needs to see this video now.
Edit: I was wrong, please scratch this comment Everyone, I was on Acid
Sad but true...
It's relatable in the saddest way imaginable. Socialists and marxists storming young heads with their rotten ideas.
The thing is, whats this song describe isn't the biggest problem now, it's the mind of the youth infected by extreme left movement. The means always justify the end for them. I thought i was progressive until these protest affected my family. I'll never forgive BLM and Antifa. Peaceful or not. They've hurt those who were the most precious to me. My friend hanged himself after they burned and looted his business. Something you'll never see in the news. The pandemic, made him suffer a lot and these fucking Commies destroyed everything leading to his suicide. I'll never forgive the mob. I'll never forget that in the name of peace, you killed your own. Civil war will come and they'll get what they deserve for selling their souls. They started that game, and i know the rules now. No justice, no peace, these are their words.
@@hxcvocalist My condolences to you man, stay safe through this darkest of times. One day bright mind gonna prevail all this bullshit.
@@hurryhurry9723 Thanks, it hurts because i can't even cross the border to mourn him properly. I may not live in USA but Canada is just a copy on a smaller scale. We may be different but the youth here is the same. Dumb idiots who think their cause is worth more than the life of everyone, they do not care about us. Even less than all corrupt government in place right now. Stay safe too.
rest in peace tom
The first Architects song I ever heard and the song that made me fall in love with this band. The news of Tom's death are devastating, but i can never forget the one time had the chance to see them live in 2014. RIP Tom you might be gone but the influence you had on me and others will always be here.
I just heared like 3-4 Architects Songs and I have to say that they write the best lyrics of all metalcore/hardcore - bands!
*best lyrics of any genre :p
Check Make Them Suffer Neverbloom or Widower, their lyrics is amazing to
Sure, I'll check them out. :)
***** La dispute is insane as well.
true!
"BLEGH"
- Sam Architects
Nobody does it better
Well spoken
Agreed. But still, there's more to this song...
*BLEAGH*
Chris Motionless
"Hold my beer"
Dear Tom, We will miss you forever
miss u forever/together
Recently got into architects, this is maybe my favourite song from them, amazing band
Thank you for sharing your music with us, Tom. You won't be forgotten
Türkler de dinliyormiş vay as bayraği as
Dinlemez olur muyuz
you are pretty indian face
No. I'm not Indian.
you are pretty, indian face
Tom's guitar work was absolutely insane, too bad that he's not longer in this world.
"If there was a God you would be the death of him" Just as they crucified Jesus. Powerful.
Cowardly lambs are made to be sacrificed, not the Northern wolves.
So there is a God?
@@ctg2421 yes
We had God in human form and we tortured and killed Him. We need help
Still getting goosebumb, even after listening to it 1000 times by now, you can feel the truth, the pain, the cruel reallity, this song is a masterpiece...
After all these years, these colours still don’t run.
Im a hardcore hiphop fan, I don't even like this kind of music.
But this left me speechless. Art.
Deep respect man! It takes a very clever and open mind to think like this. Specially if you are not from this scene. Total respect!
Architects can speak to anyone no matter their genre preference. They truly hold the helm of modern metalcore right now
@@zdoggzero6595 is that what they are considered is Metalcore?
Kurdt Kobain that’s their main classification
@@zdoggzero6595 ok cool, imma fan of metal music but I can't tell what bands are what type. And for the most part, apparently (now that I know some of the bands) I'm not super bib into Metalcore. I like these guys and Killswitch is pretty tight but not much else in the mc genre. I just classify things into two diff places Hard Rock or Metal. After thinking about it and metals diff genres and sub-genres there's not one type that is head and shoulders above the others that I consider my fav tyype. It's more I have certain bands that are probably labeled many diff types, bands like Pantera, Mudvayne, Tool, Lamb of God, Korn, Motorhead, Manson, Slayer, Machine head, Cradle of Filth just to name a few with a little range of types I'm sure are mostly classified into different areas, like Pantera is much Different than Tool, Lamb of God is way different than Korn or Manson but to me they are all just metal. I basically call anything heavier than Sabbath just plain metal and anything not as heavy would be hard rock Zeppelin, Rush, AC/DC isn't metal to me they are Hard Rock, along with newer bands like Breaking Benjamin is hard Rock, Staind, Godsmack I'd probably call HR, Alice in Chains(an in-between heavy and alt). Three days grace 1st album was HR pretty much anything heard on sirrus/XM high octane channel would be HR to me
Rest In Peace Tom
Shauny Rest in peace, Tom Searle. Always remembered. 💜
This band is amazing
Yeah, I get so much energy by listening to their songs.
Best song ever.
Il listen to this in the memory of Tom ! May you rest in peace.
I heard this band for the first time today and omfg they give me so much goose bumps. they have the sound I've been wanting to hear for such a long time!
Haha avenged sevenfold reference XD
Chester Bennington how stupid are you
Christian Horton well i don't know , ask my doctor
this song is just as hard hitting as the video, fucking awesome job!!!

Everytime I watch this video, I always need a moment to process it and digest it.
It is my firm opinion that this is one of the most important songs/videos of our time.
In fact, there is so much fucking truth contained in both the lyrics and imagery that it takes multiple viewings to firmly catch it all.
I don't know who Architects hired to make these vids, but they struck gold.
Damn..
+Mehbobo Torp You're right on the money dude. I was going to say it but i just read it .
+Mehbobo Torp To me this video is just a confirmation of stuff I already know for years. And there's a lot more truth than this!
+Enoch Generation Definitely a confirmation, but the passion, the emotion, the imagery and the musical prowess reach deep inside me and express all these thoughts and feelings better than I could ever express them myself.
+Mehbobo Torp If you like this song you should also watch *Clear Convictions "Media's Exposed Deceit" (Official Lyric Video)*
+Mehbobo Torp The director for these vids is Stuart Birchall. Go check him out on twitter etc - man speaks a lot of truths.
This song has never been more applicable than now
For all of the hate and abuse that is dished out without justice
We need to make a change
This has been on repeat all week. We sure do.
All guys in philadelphia played this while protesting...
@@adnanetouzani8235 That's fucking beautiful, I was wondering if anyone was doing that. Got a vid of it?
I came back to it tonight because of whats going on. It feels even more meaningful to me now. 😞
@@adnanetouzani8235 At the same moment they burned and looted my friend store leading to his suicide. This song wasn't about that shit. That wasn't about beating up people in the streets you utter fool.
I feel like people really dont get this song.
They think its just a anti-USA song or whatever, but its so much more than that.
Exactly...
Well bearing in mind Architects arent even a US band, it actually helps the song no matter what way you look at it. Were at the point where it doesnt matter what country your from, all the governments can effect you
Anti-government, not anti-USA. A government that has perverted the foundations of this country and enslaved its people with chains of dotted lines and credit lines.
It's more of a what the fuck are you doing?? kinda song
Elaborate.
That breakdown at 3:11 goodness gracious me.
lol you think this is a breakdown. go listen to some real breakdowns. great song but not a breakdown haha
Urm, don't need you to lecture me pal. I know my breakdowns very well.
Name 5 better breakdowns! I love a good breakdown
every old song from bmth lol. "pray for plagues" is great. "black and blue" is an ok song but it has the best breakdown ive ever heard.
Are these really the best you can think of? i hated this album
What
This has 6.5 million views? When did architects get so huge??? That is SOOO AWESOME. Congrats guys!! The new album is wiked. And this old song is a masterpiece lyrically and musically. It's a classic.for good now.
This song makes brushing my teeth 100 times more exciting.
It's scary how true this song and it's lyrics really are..
If you play this song on 31st of December at 11:58:01 PM, he says BLEGH right at midnight, making it the best possible start into the new year.
Edit: I DID IT!
Fuck, I'll have to do that, (most of) my friends won't like me for it, but you got to blegh the new year
Thank you, will use it in a few days
Yes!!! Doing that tonight 🤙
@@alfiebailey6165 how'd it go?
@@samvaiphei7398 very good ! A perfect way to start the year indeed
Rest in peace forever Tom. you will never be forgotten
Dang man... I miss this era of metalcore.. i miss this era of Architecs..
RIP TOM
first song I ever listened to by architects and its so powerful. the break down blows my mind eveytime I listen to it just as if it was the first time hearing it. I could have it on repeat all day.
Daybreaker is the most underrated metalcore album ever imo
Everyone credits all our gods and lf/lt (and rightly so) but this album is just as good
One of the best metal tracks ever conceived. Top tier riffs, great vocals, token bleugh, that breakdown..and has a message!
Ugh that breakdown gives me goosebumps..
It's kind of scary that regardless of how much time has passed, we're still falling into all sorts of chaos nonstop.
And every time you give this album a go, you wonder if there's something we can do :/
I think people need more philosophical songs like that. Especially in the United States you know. That's it.
"You had it all..." hauntingly prescient. We had one of the most unique and beautiful countries in the world, and our leaders (yes, both parties) are selling it off one betrayal at a time.
First song I ever heard. Brings me back to why I love them so much EVERYTIME. Everytime.
This is one of my favorite metalcore bands, along with BMTH... Both for the sound and the message
RELEVANT, OH SO RELEVANT
This song gets more real every year
You can always count on architects for good ol bleghs
Kansel y- dam rite son
True man Sam got the best Bleghs in the world!
F
you should hear wage war's blegh
@Deez Nuts Deadweight (2:54), Spineless (0:10), and My Grave is Mine to Dig (0:58) are a few good ones. There are a bunch of other but I can't remember them right now.
UNDERSTANDABLE always reminds me of the good ol’ bleghs
RIP Tom, thanks for everything!
This is the best metalcore song I've ever heard in my life
I love how Architects' Music has such a decent message, unlike a lot of other recent artists. Love them
I wish Architects would've said So repeat this line, everything, everything is fine
So repeat this LIE , everything, everything is fine
They used to have merch back in the day that had the lyrics "don't beLIEve everything that you're told" with the LIE written in bright red. I thought it's was cool that it added another rmeaning to the lyric that isn't expressed in the song itself.
Only the insane have strength enough to prosper.
Only those who prosper may truly judge what is sane.
K4inan wow who said this. Preach
Really the best metalcore song in existence. At least some people are awake.
Rest in Peace Tom.. Take this attitude you guys preached with you wherever you are now.
"Life. Time. Slave.
Living in a sub-urban grave."
Fuck, he knows me personally
still one of my favs, rip tom
What powerful visuals and lyrics. Wow.
I still remember the first time I heard this song and since then these guys have been my favorite band.
In bands like this, we can only trust the quality of every lyrics people must know
I've been listening to metalcore for a long time. Since long before Architects was a thing (early 00s metalcore is my favorite), but the breakdown in this song my favorite in the entire genre and I don't think it'll ever be topped. "You had it all, YOU FUCKING PIGS" then the grunt and the downtuned chugging. So fucking satisfying. I've heard this song thousands of times since it's come out, and when it comes on shuffle, I *still* rewind the breakdown so I can experience it again, at least a few times.
Goosebumps man, Goosebumps.
Architects always make music that matter, I truly appreciate them, they're golden☀️☀️
I can relate to "eyes roll back chemical despair" line. Some of my friends fuck with drugs, and one of them died recently from alcohol poisoning. He was only 13. It still devastates me waking up knowing one of my close friends drank himself to death. Rip tristin, you will be missed.
😍🖤🖤🖤 Architects existing makes my life better. :') heavy poetry.
Rest in peace, Tom
Is it me or is this song a lot more relatable? Especially with EVERYTHING going on right now. It’s safe to say that Architects was quite ahead of their time. Holy fucking shit man..
This breakdown was so sick I had to pick my jaw from the ground. Pure perfection!!!
Watching again in April 2020 and it feels extra relevant.
Oct 2020 even more
August 2021 so fucking too
The lyrics are so truthful and meaningful, so great!!
This song is so powerfull. It brings me to tears every single time I listen to it and will forever be my favorite metal song of all time.
As many have pointed out before me, this video is not singling out America so much as it drawing attention to capitalism and the corrupt methods in which we conduct daily life. How profit over people has become the way things work today. This song is the greatest song Architects has ever released.
This song fucking hits real hard with whats going on right now. RIP Tom, only the good die young
SO FUCKING GOOD!!!!!!! So glad these decent bands are helping to "wake" our fellow brothers and sisters up. Lets make our ancestors proud and start STANDING UP! This is OUR WORLD.
You are right. This isn't my favorite style/genera of metal and hardcore. My favorites are stuff like Lamb of God, Devildriver, Otep, Hatebreed, Soulfly ect... However, I can't stop listening to this song because of the lyrics. I'm seeing them live with Protest The Hero on the 12th. I hope they play this song! We need more young adults 18-35 to wake the hell up to the corruption from the international banks/corporations. I refuse to let them strip my rights away and make the United States of America Nazi Germany on steroids!
MLToasted420 Haha indeed! I'm moving to good old 'merica next year. I'll see you at the revolution!
Rosenrot516
Thank you for joining in the fight. I hope we can have a peaceful revolution/restoration of our Constitution. It's going to take every last one of us marching and our military/cops to stand down against unconstitutional orders. I can rant on for days about this. I give this country till the end of Obama's term before we see a financial system crash.
MLToasted420 America isn't turning into Nazi Germany. I can tell you that for myself since I'm a National Socialist.
America is heading for as modern philosophers state, "inverted totalitarianism", where a dictatorship will be official but it will be in "the defense of the Republic and Liberty". Hitler was against financial institutions, banksters, and freemasons; all whom run America today.
Wanna know what's really scary? In Nazi Germany there were only about 25 Gestapo officers for every almost 1 million people. There are WAY more NSA officials working today, then there ever were Gestapo members even at their height of power.
the part where he sings about how there's no poetry in this, is probably the most poetic thing I've ever heard!!
i come back to this now and then such a masterpiece of a song give me chills everytime
RIP Tom... I think Architects can't write music like this without him...
Agreed. He wrote a huge amount of the material they performed. Such a sad loss.
we dont even know if they will be continiue as a band yet...
alucardgrindcore The album was already written before Justin passed away I'm pretty sure
DasOlli91 I feel as though Architects don't have Tom because of his passing. Further their development as a band.
Noah Maddox the way you're saying that is fucked up
I can't belive i still shit bricks almost 5 years later... Tom is a legend...
Omg, i want this architects back 😍 this song I listen every fucking day!
Lol I'm just watching this with my sergeant (I'm in the navy) and he sayss "Well the message is clear, and I agree, but I need to get paid"
+Cassell Clark UR SERGEANT HAVE MY LIKE SIR.
+Cassell Clark The Navy doesn't have sergeants. The have Petty Officers, and Chiefs.
a navy sergeant? hahaha
The Australian Navy and Dutch Navy both have Sergeants, I think.
God I wish they still sounded like this 😞
If they see this +--- maybe next album will be. Oooooh yaaaaah. The fans demand of it.
But not if it hurts their throats or bodies to still sing/play like this. I totally get not being able to hold a guitar with a bad back. New stuffs allot more synth
And my grandfather wants Hitler back. Some things better change with time. I dont want to have the same stuff for infinity over and over again
The melodies of vocals and instruments come together so awesomely!

Wow I'm stunned this describes America today and this song was created 4 years ago
I don't think it just describes America, in a sense it describes the world
its becasue most Americans think america is the world
Theyre from England...
Most Americans don't think this. A lot of people who aren't American think Americans think this way, though.
Its because we live in a globalized world that embraces capitalism which America has always idealized.

Honestly, the devs need to end this event. Really bumming everyone out. Like, we get it, you read Marvel Civil War comics and you wanna incorporate it into Outside, but this is really outta hand
