    Thank you sir. I've been beating myself for days after completely cleaning and rebuilding my AD IS air dryer with all new purge valve, governor, and filter. It was still not working. I even called the dealership contemplating buying a new one until I watched your video. The problem was I plugged the exhaust port on the governor.

    I like using adjustable air governors . In the event a pressure protection valve is stuck unscrew the adjustment . This will let the compressor pump to 150 lbs. unsticking the valve . Pressure protection valves may supply air to frame suspension valve , cab air ride valve , and the fan hub clutch .

    @ 1:10 the plastic plug that he is pointing to would not come out of my old one.
    It has 4 small holes in it.
    My new one is the same way and "Pre-Installed" The Plastic plug has 4 holes in it.
    I'm not even going to try to remove the new plastic plug because I broke the old one bad and never got it out anyways.
    I hope I made this clear enough.
    I guess it vents through the four small holes.

    My governor has some kind of metal release valve on the exhaust exit, I bought a new governor and it does not have it, it has a plastic plug. Please advice.

    • @fleetproducts
      @fleetproducts  Год назад

      The plastic plug is fine. It is there to keep dirt out and has a small hole in it so it can breath.

    • @Benelli037

      @@fleetproducts Thanks. But some highly recommend removing that plastic plug. 🤷‍♂️

    • @fleetproducts
      @fleetproducts  Год назад +1

      @@Benelli037 You can remove the plug but chances are it will get dirt in it and cause issues over time. We recommend leaving the plug in as long as there is a small hole in it to breath. All governors that we sell come with the plastic plug.

    If the air dryer is not purging at all, would replacing the governor fix the issue? 8 year old dryer

    • @fleetproducts
      @fleetproducts  Год назад

      If your dryer is not purging, there could be an issue with the control line. Check the line to make sure it is not plugged, kinked or frozen. If the line looks good, you may have a faulty purge valve and we would suggest replacing it or replacing the complete dryer.

    i have a dt466 international and the governor is liking air tru the exhaust and my 550 air compressor is not bill any pretion

    • @fleetproducts
      @fleetproducts  5 лет назад

      It sounds like you have some restriction in your lines. Double check them to make sure there is no carbon build-up inside the lines and replace them if necessary.

    If they would only STOP tapping that exhaust port with threads, you wouldn't have a way to thread a plug in it in the first place. Knowing people are gonna make use of ALL the plugs that come with the governor. Having parts "leftover" would make them think they did the install incorrectly. This "problem", or "confusion", is caused by the manufacturer, not the installer. Tapping holes that should NOT be plugged is unnecessary and stupid.

      VENT ALL AIR FROM SYSTEM. take the plastic cap off of the pressure adjuster. remove the snap ring under the cap. remove the spring assembly. remove the small plunger and spring. remove the main piston. clean all the parts with soft brush and diesel fuel. or just spray it out very well with carburator cleaner. or brake cleaner. or starting fluid. dry all parts. lubricate everything with motor oil. reassemble. i just did this today without removing the governor and everything works fine now. a new governor is on its way but i needed something now.

    good video. is there a way to lower the pressure? mine go's up to 140 psi. it's too much

    • @fleetproducts
      @fleetproducts  7 лет назад

      It depends if you have an adjustable governor or not. Take the cap off the top of the governor and you will see the adjuster. Turn counter-clockwise to reduce the pressure setting and clockwise to increase the pressure setting.

  • @barabolak
    @barabolak 6 лет назад

    Yeah, mine is installed properly, however, when the air dryer valve purges, it stays open until the air pressure drops to like 100PSI, and then air compressor kicks in, pumps it to 125, and Air dryer purges again! It happens like every 40 seconds! Purge valve and the governor are brand new too... I don't know what to do

    • @fleetproducts
      @fleetproducts  6 лет назад +1

      I would suggest that you take a look at the unloader on the compressor as it might be sticking causing the issue.
