- This is actually probably the nicest bike I've ever driven. Take that to mean what you will though, I haven't driven many bikes.

hmm 15k+ mi on my Panigale and no issues. My friend has 40k+ on his.. we're both lucky I guess
I have an Ducati 08 848 with full Termignoni and it has a very large first gear as well. Once you get use to it you will love it. The great thing about it is that is it NOT a high reviving bike. Its unique, different, and yes those 3 digit speed creep up on you very fast. The mid-range pull is epic.

Ducatis are like Lamborghini. They look soooooo FUCKEN SEXY...But it overheats, they sound terrible, the stock seats, clutch, and the mirrors suck. And they are like a 20,000 dollar bike. That's a reason y they are like a lambogini.
I personally dont think it´s a terrible sound, but I agree with the other parts ^^

Eh, having an MV Agusta F3 which has a similar seat, the seats themselves are not bad so long as you are riding in a tuck position and your thighs are on the seat more than your butt. For simple riding around though, those seats are a pain in the butt for long durations of time... And you forgot to mention their tendency to break down too. Just glad my bike hasn't had any problems yet myself. And starting price for the 959 is around 15k give or take. For an italian bike, that's about ballpark.

Just hit a year on my 959 this month and I still get a shit eating grin on my face every time I open the garage. Another grin when I get moving. Love this bike and have had zero issues. :)

I love Ducati's but the 959 is my least favorite Panigale .. favorite is the 1199s, it looks the best out of all of them.
