One subtle detail I've only just noticed is there are now _two_ I2C buses. The onboard devices get a dedicated i2c bus and the edge connector one is an independent bus. That's rather reminiscent of enterprise solutions of yesteryear for SCSI bus isolation. It may allow the onboard bus to run at a faster speed.
Seeed Studio availability is November 30. I'm pre-ordered. I don't know what I will do with it but I do know it will be a lot of fun. Thanks for the video, Stu
Regarding the sound recording files, Stu. I do not have the MB V2 yet but does it save audio to a file type which can be transferred to computer drive? If so, has anyone tried to load that sound onto MakeCode Arcade game console, like MeowBit or BrainPad? Wondering if we could record ambient sounds, like live rocket launch, and load that into Arcade game ? Thanks.
Nice presentation, I didn't know this was on the way! Have you noticed any code behaving differently with the faster nRF52833 processor (3:06)? I see a lot of code where the timing depends on the speed of execution and I wonder how that behaves with the 4x clock speed and M4 FPU. The extra memory is good news as it should give MicroPython enough space to run Bluetooth Low Energy library.
In the testing I've done so far the code seems to execute at exactly the same speed. But these were not complicated programs at this point. I do have a rather resource hungry program I will be running on one of them next week. I should be able to compare that side by side with a V1.
I believe the firmware will still be in beta on these engineering sample units. If you have V2 micro:bit for evaluation then I would contact the contact who sent them to you.
I can't wait. This will help my personal project that I've been working on on my channel.

Superb... thanks for this. Very well explained. A good balance between theory and practical application. R

Good video, Stu ! Very informative; I just got a new V2 Microbit with the Yahboom Spiderbit kit. Thanks for your info.
Amazing 😉
❤️❤️❤️
can the microbit 2.0 communicate by radio to a 1.5 microbit?

Hello Stu I am saving up to buy microbit V2
they still didnt put rgb leds I AM SO MAD I cant find any good small board with rgb leds :'(
Does the v2 work with extnsion boards and screens that were for the v1?

hello, this new microbit no longer connects with android applications like micro: bit and kitronik move. is there a solution?
Any chance you would share the coding for your little kitty?
Hi I’m interested in your virtual pet project do you have the code and the picture of the back and front of the pet online? Thanks
This looks great Stu. but how to test the new version of Makeode? Do you have an URL for that?
I don't think there is a public URL for it yet, should be there soon I would think as release is only a few weeks away.
@@StuLowe80 Yes there is, I've found it: tech.microbit.org/latest-revision/
Rip to the octopus pet at the end its dead if you hadn't realised.
I have a 2.2- no manual or pin outs were included…
where can we get the firmware of the micro:bit v2?The official website is only updated to 0253, but v2 need version 0254

@@StuLowe80 I would love to know the contact that provided you the firmware so that I can contact the contact that have you the firmware :D
@@dhruvsheth7260 you'd need to contact the people at micro:bit about that one.
Random question Stu, what visualizer is that you using?

Still a micro-usb? Hilarious. Somebody should wake developers and remind them there is usb-c available since the 2014 ....
Atleast sharpen the pencil.

bbc is the WORST version of micro:bit i can,t even get it connected to bluetooth or the computer
