I am definitely going to check them out now!
after all, "education" was on their sign 😂👍👍
Free advertising for their shop, it's a no-brainer.
Not just that, but also, I never understood the appeal of building model trains like these until this video.
It’s absolutely spectacular how cool it looks.
@@allanshpeley4284 you'd be surprised how many companies don't seem to get that...
Imagine being a figurine inside this diorama, living a happy life, and all of a sudden, this thing passes by you

@rover1940 hi
more terrifying than choo choo charles
That would be epic

The G in G-Scale comes from the German word for 'big' but I've always associated it with 'Garden' as it's a very popular Garden Railway size
Ah yes, of course, garden railways
Groß
@@dominikwylie147 Großhoß gives you deals you love
both terms were used interchangeably: LGB = "Lehmann-Groß-Bahn" (big railway) or Lehmann-Garten-Bahn (garden railway)
Who has a train in their garden?
Major props to the hobby store for being so supportive.
It’s astonishing how some people are so open and cool about stuff like that, while surrounded by uptight people who would never give anyone the time of day.
I sincerely hope that wherever that store is, they gain customers for that.
I'm going there actually because of this video so I think it worked!
It's people like that who keep hobbies alive. When you see someone showing interest in something you care about, rather than scold them for doing it wrong, it's much more rewarding for all parties to encourage them. Besides sometimes the "wrong" way ends up being better.
Having a bunch of G scale trains I always thought of them as garden scale because they were the most common to have running in gardens
@legojack speaking of things that may damage the rails, credit to entertrainment for allowing that dangerous piece of engineering marvel to run on their scene
G scale is also the common scale for the Christmas trains that go around the Christmas trees. They're also built with O and HO scales but all the plastic ones in Christmas decorations are plastic battery powered G scale.
@@mark0305 I mean tbf it was only running along like 3 meters of yard track
@@mark0305 the track, even being brass rail, is very strong.
The contrast between the flavor of awesomeness of the Sawzall train and the flavor of awesomeness of the Entertrainment layout creates its own brand new awesome flavor.
That store is super cool! Props to them for letting you put the train on the tracks!
A variable clutch could be good for slow speed control. Currently if you try to go slow, you are just more likely to stall. Not that it actually matters since this is just a for fun project.
Exactly my thoughts, and it could be more responsive than relying on the trigger of the sawsall
Thomas in the thumbnail:hello i currently have type 2 clinical deppression.... JUST KILL ME ALREA-
Love the attempts into non flying vehicles!!! Also the extra effort you put into the sponsor spots ensures i dont just skip ahead. Keep it up!!!
@petersripol if you liked that train display, and are ever in germany, minituar wunderland in Hmaberg is insane!
The crossover event I didn't know I needed between two of my favorite things - model railroading and Peter's wild inventions.
I love that he is sticking with the small RUclipsr kind of vibe.😁
Something, something, more money, parts are expensive.
The figurines face at 13:04 was 100% accurate lmfao. That was really nice of them to let you put that train on their awesome set up. I'd actually like to actually see their train set up, looks awesome
It is just north of Cincinnati, Ohio
Massive respect to the EnterTRAINment shop!!! So cool they let you out that wild contraption on their tracks and certainly made the video better!!!!
That was pretty cool that the store let you bring that in and put it on the tracks. Hope they get some walk-in boost from that.
You literally took the Sawzall, that converts rotation into reciprocal movement, and turned it back into rotational movement. Love it
Im surprised they let you in there lol. great video
As someone who loves all things trains, including model trains. This was a treat that made me laugh! Great stuff, Peter, keep it up!
Also props to Entertainment Junction for letting you guys in there with a fun project. You won’t get that a lot of places!
Imagine being a little miniature person going about their miniature life when suddenly YOU SEE SOME UNSPEAKABLE EVIL THAT IS THE SAWZALL.
That ending took an excellent twist. Was definitely not expecting Thomas the sawsall to be in such a classy model train display 😂
I just pulled this memory out of the deepest darkest place in my brain. I’ve been to Entertrainment before but it had to be 18ish years ago. I used to live 5 mins away. Thank you for reminding me of a piece of my childhood.
Why settle for a miniature train set when you can make a human sized version with construction equipment?
Pneumatic jackhammer?
@@StoveLad That's what I was thinking
@petersripol do it man
You know, that sounds like a pretty good idea for a collaboration with ColinFurze... 👌🏼
@@zeendaniels5809 Agreed!
Scrolling through the comments it looks like you have attracted quite the swarm of model railroaders - myself included! Love your insane contraptions.
Also poor Rio grande open wagon, glad it survived the cinderblock
Luckily it is a cheaper bachmann gondola car
Oh this was absolutely awesome! Made my day!
As a model railroader, this is just cool to see different ideas on how to make something work. I think the biggest difference in operational reliability is in a steam locomotive, you have all of that weight acting as a flywheel to smooth out the piston travel, where as the power of the saw far exceeds the weight of the apparatus acting as a flywheel when compared to their 12 inch to 1 foot scale counterpart.
I think if you could build one with a lot wider gauge, a ton more heavier, and had the saw directly driving the wheels on the track, (called drive wheels on the 1:1), you could achieve better results and have a lot more smoother operation. Also could make a double saw version and have each saw power one side of wheels, and have at least 3 drive wheels per side. Would definitely help with traction and stability.
But was definitely a cool video! Love it!!!
It's really cool they let you use their space and were not overly serious about their hobby (lots of train guys are crotchety old men) awesome work btw
I wish a million successes on that hobby store. Looks awesome and super cool that they let you use their setup.
The G stands for "Garden." It's a very popular track gauge used for outdoor garden railroads.
Weight over the driven wheels seems super important for this.
I was sooo affraid they would not figure that out by the end of the video.
13:55 i like how Thomas’s original body is there too while his face is on the sawzall train lol
The other trains in this place be like:
“What’s wrong with Thomas today? He looks strange…”
What is this…
Nice work taking something that already converts rotational movement into linear movement back to rotational movment.
I wonder if that could also be a fun paddleboat project... Also: cool Yugo you've got there!
“G scale” actually refers to multiple different scales, as modeling standards and prototypes can vary from modeler to modeler. What you’re building on is G _gauge,_ with “gauge” referring to the space between the rails. G gauge is always 45 mm (~1 3/4 inches), regardless of scale.
Peter is a poet and he didn't even know it. " This is very durable plastic, I think this is going to be fantastic!"
As a rail fan my self, I can say that it is perfectly normal to place large objects on fright cars to see which locomotive has the highest tractive effort.
Drill powered Boat!
@TheDuelLogs.. This is a scam or it´s just a guy being nice? Tell me what you think chat
Holy crap, model trains and Peter Sripol? Perfect combo!!
You would never know it by most accounts today, but stores like that were actually the norm when I was a child, not that long ago, I'm only 44. Most places nowadays are run by people who couldn't extract a needle from their caboose if they had a tractor, a tank, AND a full-size locomotive! Entertrainment Junction is Gigachad-level cool! This looked to be a fun project. You're never too old to play, have fun, and learn! Keep up the great work!👍😁
Plus other stores would have displays set up and taken down for the holiday shopping season. The rest of the year larger toys would be set on display where kids could play with them or get up close views of what they looked liked. Now stores barely bother with display models, as every unit is only for sale, with anything lowering that price to be avoided.
I have not watched this video yet but from just a thumbnail and a size of a Sawzall I can tell this is G scale and I so cannot wait to watch this and I kind of need to replicate this because my dad will just give me weird looks when I make this for his train set
I LOVE THIS IDEA!! MORE TRAIN VIDEOS PLEASE!
Could you make a model "engine" where you use multiple sawzalls to turn a crankshaft? Now that you've figured out how to work with that reciprocating movement.
Like one of those weird solenoid engine(n't) things but way more sketchy!
I have been watching Peter my whole life he's really a ray of sunshine
Amazing title and amazing video as always keep up the great content.
9:30 clearly Peter’s answer to the Trolly Problem starts with “depends if it’s a sawzall powered trolly or a regular one”
I guess Thomas has gone of the deep end
Thomas has been off the deep end for 5 years
Things have been going off the rails since the series ended
@Don't Read My Profile Picture 100% worth it
The EnterTrainment Junction was the best part of this episode.
Lawn mower helicopter..... DO IT!
A stand up hovercraft/disc like those in the old Popular Science magazine, maybe? The prop would probably be the toughest part of the design.
@@JoeGator23 I reckon that would work if he got a lawn mower put a prop on the shaft and let it do its thing, I reckon it would work as a "Hovercraft", It would bring lift to those old hover mowers
That hobby store seems like a really cool business. This is definitely a PR win for them. I saw they actually have a lot of cool things to do for families. I don't exactly have any kids at the moment, but I'll definitely keep them in mind if I have any kids that are train enthusiasts like I was as a little one. Haha
That is very cool! Keep up the good work.
Home Depot but be happy that peters focusing on cutting tools🤣
I had a feeling this would not be as easy as it seemed even though the saw-zall has the motion as a steam locomotive. P.S. SWhats up with the YUGO? lol What you doing with that death trap? lol Thanks Peter
As a model railroader, I find this is extremely impressive. For more traction put traction tires on the wheels.
Maybe move the weight over the drive wheels first, and then add a miniature sand spreader for traction grit...... They could even get away with rubber bands around the tires for more traction the plastic wheels on rail has such low coefficient for gripping power
great video pure creativity keep it up man I don't miss a video but could you tell me the music of the minutes 9:38
yeah, its a great song, not in the description though, I'd love to know what it is to
Just love these power tool build series. Nothing but the best of Peter's mad scientist 😆🤣😂 lol
I would love to see a working drone chainsaw.
Honestly, I think that would be pretty trivial. It already directly drives the chain, all they would have to do is connect that up to a propeller, attach control system to the throttle, etc.
This is basically exactly what I envisioned. Great video, my brother's going to love it.
I’d love to see an RC steam train that uses actual water. Like, you have a controller for operating the different functions like the throttle and the brake, as well as adding to the “fire” ( for safety it wouldn’t be an actual flame, but rather a heating element ). I think that would be cool. An RC train that operates like a full size one. 😊
as a railfan and someone who like building things, this makes me very happy
This was beautiful. What art you have birthed into this world. Bravo.
I love how some engineers probably worked really hard to turn the rotational force of the motor into a linier force of the bade and you just reversed it again.
for your next one do a pressure washer car, boat or drone whatever you do you will make it work
Beginning: shows DeWalt Sawzall and says it's the one they'll use to build the train.
Build: has Walmart Sawzall.
I like that they are converting rotational power to linear then back to rotational
EnterTrainMent Junction is an awesome place. So cool they let your train on the tracks. Can't wait to go back.
Thanks Peter, never heard of Entertrainment Junction, going to add that to my bucket list.
this is spam and I hate people that take advantage of others hard work.
This was a fun build, and the train store was really cool for letting you put this monster on their tracks
Entertrainment Junction is such a neat place. I took my pre-K class there on a field trip a couple of years ago and they loved it
Planes and trains baby
Some goofy fun hack craziness for sure! For smoother, more predictable operation you really need TWO sawzalls with the second on a crank 90 degrees out of phase with the first. Look at the OTHER side of the steam locomotive(s) and you'll see the cranks and rods are "quartered" relative to each other. So one is always pushing or pulling while the other goes over dead center. And BTW EnterTrainment junction has an outdoor ride-on train too. That size would be a great fit for a dual sawzall loco to actually ride and pull their train. Hope to see such a sequel!!
Over the top as always. Really digging the collaborative work with your brother 👍
Sawzall converts rotational power from motor into linear sawing motion. Peter converts it back to rotation via crank linkage. Gearing and wheels convert rotation to linear motion along train track. Rotary to linear to rotary to linear. What the hell
I'm not a train guy, but I do enjoy neat toys - and this is a neat toy. Bravo!
Despite living only down the road from Entertrainment Junction, I've actually never been in there. Kinda cool looking. I'll have to stop in next time I'm home

I love Entertrainment junction! i used to go there as a kid so much!
This has to be the craziest but greatest abomination of trains, steam engines, and power tools that the internet has ever seen. GREAT JOB GUY'S 👍
I love when companies are cool like this. Plus they get some good publicity and free advertising
1:12 BROOOO 💀💀💀💀💀
Glad to see you guys went to Entertrainment junction! Very cool place!
As a locomotive engineer and RC drone/plane/car guy, this is awesome!
The lower the quality of a product peter makes the more comedic it is.
I like how the battery is just dangling off the side, and random stuff duct taped to it for balance. brilliant!
Now I dare you too make a big life size version of make it look like a actual train and can you do more train vids
I love your Totally Normal G scale Train! It made me Smile!
The auto-captions call the sound of the sawzall [Applause], and now I can't stop imagining a little engineer somewhere on it clapping and cheering it on
Me growing up in Cincinnati Ohio, that place was my childhood
But you skipped over a lot of the fun stuff in there
Excellent video! Could we have an impact wrench/driver powered car next? Having to deal with the intermittent blows for power delivery would be quite interesting!
Next thing you know, Peter's gonna have a whole army of Frankenstein power tools.
So just the get this straight, the reciprocating saw (sawzall is a brand trademark) is converting rotary motion into reciprocating motion and then then it is converted back from reciprocating to rotary. Seems efficient...
Power drill powered personal transport

@PeterSripol. @PeterSripol this guy is ripping people off by making them pay for shipping on a "care package" under your name
I was not expecting this to actually happen... this is sick lmao.
It's Thomas' deranged cousin: Dirk the Derp engine.
This is amazing. Good work on figuring out that the blade of the sawz-all is rocking back and forth.
They make an articulating Sawzall. That would probably be more suitable for this application. It travels in an arc motion ensteaf of just single plane back and forth. Although the steam pistons only went back and forth they used a knee joint to keep from being stuck in the 180 position. If the video is made by Peter S..I will always watch and enjoy. You are an amazing engineer.
12:12 *Dudes genuine reaction to the most ungodly train he's ever seen* 🚂🤯
The Mister Rogers type jazz at the end… chef kiss
Nothing professional about this channel is literally just nerds geeking out I love it,❤️❤️
The nest thing should be a jigsaw-powered RC truck!
Edit: title should be "Taking your Jigsaw to Driver's Ed"
Considering the short “piston stroke” and high rpms that the sawzaw possesses, I think it would’ve been most effective to go with a shay design where the piston is mounted vertically onto the side of the locomotive and turns a crankshaft which turns the wheels through gears similar to a differential if that makes any sense.
nice man
