The did exactly this way and it came out just perfect and yummy.. replaced maida with whole wheat, used brown sugar instead of white sugar, lemon juice instead of vinegar, I don't have cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg powder. So added a pinch of garam masala 😂😂I simply served it without mentioning which cake it is..and my family members asked if its Christmas plum cake.. I felt that itself to be a victory.. All of us loved the taste.. the result is amazing!!!! Thanks a lot..
Merry Christmas:) I prepared it yesterday and turned out amazing. Just one thing to keep in mind is that the caramel syrup gets crystallised very soon when it gets cold. So just keep a few minutes gap(very less like 5 mins max) in between making the cake dough and caramelised sugar.
Made this for my husband's birthday since he loves plum cake and not a fan of icing. He loved it and said it's much better than any fancy store bought and that I should bake for Christmas too. Thank you for the recipe! Subscribed! A side note for anyone who tries, careful when you pour the water on caramel. Better use a long handled spoon. Edit: Also I baked in OTG at 165 for 53 minutes.
This recipe is so versatile that I have done so many things and it still works great. 1.I have replaced caramel syrup with jaggery(both have same taste) 2. I have also baked with 1 c whole wheat atta and 1 c Ragi flour 3. And also entire 2 cups of buckwheat flour It always taste amazing.
I baked this cake today. It's very easy and it's so delicious ❤👌. Be careful while pouring warm water into the caramel syrup, high chances of get burns (blast) so use a lid to partially cover the vessel.

@@delintaa Hey better try baking it in the Indian method. Put some salt in a pan and and put your tin with batter and leave it for 45-60 mins and use perfect measurements of ingredients. Caz its your first time it's okay it happens. All the best.

It's an excellent , very easy and no fail recipe but the baking time varies as my cake was done in 40 mins in otg at 170°c and 45 mins in pressure cooker..just keep checking ur cake..happy baking 😊

Baking powder n baking soda are absolutely not same n chemically different.. baking soda it's a salt that makes cake light n fluffy n without it cake won't rise n will turn out flat..meanwhile baking powder is used to increase the volume and lighten the texture of baked goods..so without baking powder cake will be heavy, grainy n with an unappealing texture.. If u use self raising flour ..then avoid baking powder.. Cuz it's alrdy in the flour.. Good Luck 💗

I think u add too much of leavening agent(help to make cake risen in volume) which is baking powder and baking soda which cause cracks in your cake so reduce the amount of these 2 item in your cake 🎂
It is natural, a crack forms on the top of the cake because the gas that develops inside the cake when the cake rises escapes through it, so cakes will have cracks on the top. One thing you can do is reduce the amount of baking powder and baking soda, but still there will be cracks formed.
I tried your recipe it came out very well and its yummmm. I just made one change that is I used powdered jaggery instead of sugar. It's super soft and very tasty.

How did you make the raisins, etc. stay suspended in the cake? When I tried, they all have sunk to the bottom during the baking.
Roll the nuts and fruits in dry flour. Out the flour coated nuts in batter . It wont sink

If it’s oven then how much degree Fahrenheit to bake and for how many minutes
Preheat at 160 and cook at 150 for 50-60 minutes for the above recipe. Plum cakes need a long baking time.

Use of whisk will ease the process..
Also, use room temperature ingredients... Not cold
