Thanks. Im glad the channel is of value to you. No, I haven't done a video on insurance. What a good idea. You should find a good insurance broker from an independent company who deals with a range of insurance companies, and ask their advice. I suggest you start with professional indemnity (and maybe public liability) cover. There is a huge range of insurance applicable to business, the most obvious covering business assets, premises and equipment. You can also insure the income/profits of the business with different types of business interruption insurance, and loan or mortgage repayments. It is not uncomment to insure staff members with a key person insurance. You might want to insure yourself via health/trauma/income cover etc. There are more types, its a matter understanding what is important for you and balancing the premium cost with risk etc.

You would need to talk to a freight forwarder or similar to learn about shipping etc, I have little experience in this area. You should also check out the 2 x playlists on my channel about Start a Business. There is stuff in both lists that should be helpful to you. I hope your business goes well.

I can't seem to find any content on how to start a completely remote business in New Zealand with an international co-founder (US-based). Do you have any content on that or advice for tax liabilities and obligations in such circumstances?

Tax advice is a little out of my area of expertise. You should find a local accountant or lawyer and have them form the company and advise you on the tax implications. There is a reciprocal tax agreement between NZ and US, so it should be straightforward.

Yes, an LLC can own another LLC, franchises etc.
