I've always said to people how talented, versatile Lzzy is, she can sing anything and everything with anyone and she never disappoints, and that's before you start conversation about her talent as a songwriter / lyricist!
The album is brilliant but I wouldn't have said this was the best song on it. However, this is the one that seems to have stuck. I find myself singing 'Ive seen terrible things... ahhhhaaahhhaaaaa' quite often when alone. I genuinely thought Asley was Irish when she started singing, such was the strength of the accent. Only a few thousand miles out tbf 😂
This song should have been huge in 2022, it was needed then and it’s needed now❤️I’m tired of seeing the sickness..it’s horrible and people should jus let people be who they are
You really compliment one another as vocalists. Connected with this song instantly back when the album was released and didn’t think it could possibly be better. I was wrong. Y’all, this was beautiful and so needed today. Thank you.
Not taking away from the other artists who sing with Lzzy, but she hasn't had any performance as a duet, that didn't sound like they've been doing it for years!!
Such a great powerful song. Brought tears to my eyes. Hits hard As I am homeless now after leaving an abusive marriage. Lzzy ur voice is so BEAUTIFUL & powerful. YOU SING LIKE AN ANGEL❤🤘🤘🤘
People tell me that good music isn't being made these days. I tell them that they are looking in the wrong places. Someone tried to tell me that the music I was listening to when I was in my teens and early twenties was the best music of my life. I told them that the best music of my life had not yet been recorded. Here you go proving my point.
Most of the music now sucks. I would have never of known of this song until someone told me. Hardly any bands play their own instruments half go one stage to lip sinc. Not many write their music anymore. And God help me alot are so auto tuned to make their voices better no wonder they lip sinc on stage. I had in my time hard women rockers with morals and something to say. Now that's a dying breed to half naked pop queens. This song here is not made popular, tv interviews not really known. What you see here is a rarity to a dying culture.
Absolutely gorgeous song both melodically and lyrically. And thanks for the introduction to Ashley McBryde. Your voices complimented each other perfectly.
Your voices blend so beautifully!! I am a huge Ashley McBryde fan, but I'm definitely digging the sound of this non-country track. The lyrics are so powerful and immediate. Two strong women and one strong song.❤❤ Also love the outreach for homeless youth. Our most vulnerable should not be unhoused.😢
Adding Ashley in this video was perfect. I almost burst into tears. This song has always touched my heart, but this new version touched my soul. Remarkable ladies just remarkable.
Awesome collaboration! Lzzy and Ashley rocked this one! Been a fan of Ashley McBryde for a while now. This song also made me check out other songs from Halestorm. I wasn’t disappointed!
Back in the 80’s I was so cool that I refused to listen to anything not Hard or Heavy. Then I heard Madonna sing something not spoonfed pop and realized that she had God Given talent. Both of you ladies share that talent. I’m uncool nowadays because I only listen to songs I like. Great Job. Thanks.
❤😢 Wow, it's a very powerful message for all humanity 👏🏽 I retired from youth counseling 10 years ago. I'm 63 and going back to work with our youth and families. It doesn't cost anything to just smile and acknowledge another person.
This has got to make some sort of massive waves in the music industry, a modern day "imagine" absolutely A1 work made even better with such a complimentary voice in McBryde.
Unfortunately this amazing piece of music won't be recognized for a very long time. The greatest of the great get recognition long after the (piece of music or....is created).
Def been feeling this way lately. Truthfully this place has become a wasteland amongst other terrible things. Yall we have to stand up as a unit to make the changes to make this place not to soo shytty. I love these women for being brutally honest in this one. I know we're all feeling "raped" by the prices and government. I'm not gunna go on a tangent. But for real look around guys. . . Really look. . . You see it everywhere. Lifes not meant to be this way!!! Only WE can change this. There are outlets we just need to know how to find them. And guys I promise you once you step into the light I have to offer things will become reachable again. Yes there's supposed to be good/bad. It's called balance. We all know that. Thank you ladies from the depths of my soul for this one. Much love ❤
I see terrible things and i see beautiful things, the world can be Heaven or Hell , does it depend on us or on fate? This song already touched my heart in original version , now it makes me really cry with this amazing video and collab💖
For me this song was like a lullaby for this hard times. In a time of wars, watching extra rich people living next to extreme poverty, addictions, violence.. we can try to do I our best, to be good.
443000 youth are homeless on any given night. Silence, and ignoring and bickering between political ideals is not solving the problem. In fact, letting our politicians bicker without holding them accountable is the reason this gets worse, not better. Silence is accepting that it's right. Bravo Halestorm, amazing video.
I first heard of Ashley in march of 2020 and I saw the video with Eric Church. I also know that Halestorm has played with him and I was really hopening for a collab with Halestorm and Ashley but I never expected to actually happen. now we have this wonderful piece from my two favorite artists, not to take away from it but I want MORE! What beautiful powerful voices, the song literally gives you goose bumps, there is nothing worst than seeing the dark truth about the streets and the homeless, thank you Lzzy & Ashley
I have listened to this song a few times now, and I just can’t even describe the feelings I get listening to it. These two strong powerful yet soft and gentle voices just give life to such a heartbreaking topic. Thank you Lzzy and Ashley for this. 🤟🔥❤️

We learn our lessons
Then defy them
We are heartless and immoral
We carry hatred
Like a bible
And there's a hole in my life
There's a blackness inside
That's eating me alive
Leaving me to decide
Do I live with this pain?
As the rain starts to fall from my eyes
Asking myself why
I see terrible things
I see a sickness in a world on its knees
It will take what you love like a thief
But in my dreams I believe
We're not these
Terrible things, oh
Terrible things, oh
We are nothing without failure
But we have chosen ill behavior
With every scar we have learned
Not to heal, but to hurt
We've become something else
Even I cannot tell just why
I see terrible things
I see a sickness in a world on its knees
It will take what you love like a thief
But in my dreams I believe
We're not these
Terrible things, oh
Terrible things, oh
If I fall
If I run
That's when I

Thank you. I can't always understand lyrics so seeing this to read while the song played was so helpful.
Too bad she didn't write it. Just stole it.
thank you for the lyrics
Lizzy and Ashley’s voices are very good together! Great song!
She is the best voice in hard rock. Period. Then you hear her duets with other artists....and they are amazing.
I couldn't agree more. Possibly (if not) the most talented artist's currently producing music and after 14yrs still being amazing.....
