The "The Games We Played" series is one of my favorite series that you guys make. So watching this compilation is very exiting! When it comes to my favorite year, 2018 was a banger and definitively the one at the top for me. I mean, it was Monster Boy's release year, right? Enough said!

What I like about this channel is that if the guys play games, so only worthy releases of all time, without focusing only on new and often quite controversial releases

i always wonder why not more channels do these compilations. are they afraid it´s gonna ruin their watch time ratio? can´t think of any other reason. i mean you can get a little extra and we don´t have to hunt around for all the parts in order and can just leave it on in the background. everybody wins. i´m certainly gonna watch watch to the end. even though i´ve seen it before.

First11111 Edit: I cannot thank you guys enough for the content you provided during the pandemic. It kept me from going insane. Seriously looking back I can say a new spark started because of your videos. I proceeded to restore all of my consoles. Learn soldering and even get into rgb scallers. Thank you guys so much!

So he finds REVIII jarring because they don't have European accents, but plays games like Persona 5 with English voice acting? How does that make any sense?
[Try4ce] The difference is the consistency of the presentation. Everyone in Persona 5 is Japanese, and you're supposed to assume they're speaking Japanese. Swapping one language/accent for another wholesale for the whole game is fine to me. The difference with RE8 is that you've dropped an American who has only lived in Europe for too short a time to be likely to be speaking fluently, alongside rural villagers who are unlikely to be speaking English flawlessly. So which language are they really speaking? Are we supposed to assume it's English or a European language? If all characters were European, I would be fine with them speaking English with American accents, because we assume they are "actually" speaking their native language and the English is just for the audience. That's the same thing as Persona. It's the presence of an American character alongside these other characters who are speaking just like him that breaks the immersion for me.
@@mylifeingaming Oh, I see what you're saying... To be honest I haven't really played Resident Evil past RE3 and Code Veronica, but if I had to guess they might've just thought people would prefer it that way?... And I'm sure it's easier for them...
(Or maybe having an American killing a bunch of people with accents they thought might lead to some kind of backlash, similar to what happened with RE5?)
[Try4ce] Well, other than bosses, most monsters in RE8 can't speak, unlike RE4. In RE8 there are quite a few NPCs who speak. They didn't name the country in RE8, unlike RE4, which may have been intentional. I'm sure there were legitimate conversations that occurred that led to the way they all had American accents, but the end result still feels weird to me.

(Not that it needs to, because we all just like what we like, and have our own preferences.) I need to catch up on Resident Evil. I hope none of this stuff stands out to me, like it does you. (Localizations of Japanese games can be really hit or miss with me.)
[Try4ce] Well, cheese is certainly part of the RE appeal, and I don't think any games even had Japanese voices recorded until RE6. They were always going for the American B-movie vibe, as interpreted by Japanese developers.
You guys allergic to the PC?
Nobody cares if you have kids, or not. You can either create content, or not. We won't judge you either way. A family should not be a content crutch. Has anyone noticed an issue in the past 5 or so years? Exactly....
