  • This tutorial shows a new feature of MeshLab: the Manipulator. It is similar to the manipulator in Blender, with the use of some keys, the placement of the object in the reference space is decomposed in a set of simple movements (rotations, translations, scalings). Easy to use after a bit of training, very powerful.

8:30 The most important part of the whole video! If you don't execute the command "Filters > Mesh Layer > Freeze Current Matrix" your alignment will not be written to any .stl or other exported files.
Thanks for the great tutorials! Aligning with the manipulator in MeshLab is amazing -- way more intuitive than Geomagic Design X.

How can I move a vertex (inside MeshLab), add/remove one?

Thanks for this video. Very helpful, as I don't have any Meshlab intuition yet.

Hey, very nice tutorial! Is there a way to manipulate my 3D point cloud reconstruction? I mean... I made a reconstruction of a wall, but on the middle it got curvy... Is there a way to straightening?

Hi, Mister P. thanks for your tutorials. they are all very helpful to me.
one quick problem that i have when i import obj file into meshlab, and when i render the axis, the axis is not showing up. is there any way you know a way to fix that? without the axis, i can't locate my origin.
other than manipulating the mesh, is there any quick and dirty way to snap any point /face of my mesh right away to the origin? because when i open my obj file in meshlab, it seems like the origin are far far far away from the model.
looking forward with your reply. thanks again!

thank you for all these tutorials! Question, how can you bring two meshes very close to each other without them overlapping? I would like to close the mouth of a skull, without the two meshes actually overlapping, thanks!

Would be nice to be able to align coordinate system with the bounding box with a function :)

PS: I found it!! :) Filters >> Align to principal axis. Lovely tool!

Hi Mister P, great videos. Learnt a lot on Meshlab from your videos. One question on the Manipulator. I loaded a CTM model, adjusted the positions using Manipulator. saved the models. Load the model again, it seems to revert to the old positions (with reference to the origin 0,0,0).
