A cover of an original hit done well is stand alone IMO, BW Stevensonis no longer with us but his music lives on with great covers by accomplished artists.
B. W. Stevenson from Dallas, TX passed away on April 28, 1988. He was 38 years old. He co-wrote and recorded My Maria in 1973. It reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending September 29, 1973. Thank you Brooks & Dunn for keeping his song alive to new listeners and performing it with great justice.

Agreed! Whenever I listen to Ronnie I think of Keith Whitley. One (in his prime), sings traditional country and the other sings country/rock but both have unmistakable voices that leave their signature on every song. Both one of the GOAT? Absolutely.

I’m lucky enough to have been able to meet Kix Brooks. He is as sweet as you think he is!! Such an amazing person!! He came to the restaurant I work for, and as soon as I saw him, I literally lept into his arms. He said “hi sweetheart!! How are you?! It’s good to meet ya!” Him and his crew for the show “Steakout with Kix Brooks” were all so nice. One of the best experiences of my life. This man is definitely one of the best. ❤️❤️

Have heard this song on the radio dozens of times but never saw the band singing it. Funny how you get an idea in your head what somebody looks like and they can look so different when you finally lay eyes on them. Interesting. These guys are great, and this is one of my all-time favorite songs!! I truly believe this is one of the sweetest love songs ever written. So sweet, too, how that gentleman in the audience was singing "I love you" to his wife or girlfriend. ❤

I saw this performance and another one here on RUclips and I couldnt help it , had to get tickets to see these legends. They just sound 100% awesome, they sound better live than studio. Ended up getting tikets to see them in Las Vegas in December they are performing with Reba....so its gonna be crazy...got tickets right in the center sec 104. Damn...cant wait! Such country legends....been listening to them forever, never gt a chance to see them live.
Dunn has to have one of the best male country voices that has ever been. If you were to play just 10 second audio clips of 100 music artists and told to push stop when Dunns voice was heard you would be able to tell right away, its unique and 100% real country!
