Great video, this was a very good comparison video featuring tones. Although I have a slight bias to Sire, I still think the yamaha sat better in the mix
I had a SireV7 and sold it, too heavy and too many knobs, got myself a Yamaha BB734a, that's a better bass, both build and playability, the rest is in the chops. Thanks for the video Rama........ Hey, put some flats on the Yamaha, I think you'll like the sound.
yeah some V could be heavy for some people but I ever had BB 735 for a while, it's heavy as well. I have some flats I'd like to try for V3. 505 is my friend's he's getting it back :)
@@RamaNatan thanks. I got the M7 alder last year, loving it so far! What a versatile instrument! The only slight drawback is the small space for finger to pull the strings when slapping, but I slowly adapt my technique.
Rama, You sounds great as always. Thanks for recommending the M2. I went with the white with rosewood neck and love. I am mainly a trumpet player but sub in on bass to free up the bass player to sing. Our bassist had brought his American Made Fender Jazz and new Zon headless bass to the gig. After I played my Sire, he (Mettis) asked to play my bass. He never put it down, except for the other times I play bass, for the rest of the night. I am sure he will have one on order soon. Thanks again! Nick
I have two Fender Jazz deluxe Basses. I setup and played a Sire Jazz for a friend. To me the Fender Jazz deluxe is far superior to the Sire. The preamp in passive and active was no match- especially passive mode. That is my opinion. Also too many knobs but good value
Good one, man! However, I'd prefer seeing the TRBX go head to head with the M2 since that would be a more match since both of them have humbuckers.. Maybe in the next video, perhaps?
I guess it depends on what you're going for, but it's kind of like comparing a j bass to, well... something that's not really a j bass. That said, the preamp in the Sire sounds like it has more sizzle in the top end, and the bass itself has that rounder mid-range j bass thump. The Yamaha sounds flatter and more even.
@@RamaNatan I was looking to buying either one of these basses and my only dilemma was to go with the V3 that has the perfect sound I like or the Yammy that has great looks and could imitate, but I kinda went with my choice on the V3 since I found one with a mahogany body

Hi Rama, your video on the secrets of the V3's tone sold me on choosing this bass. - lovely! Are the pink finish and the silver pickguard custom additions, or is this a special version of the V3? I only see white, black, tobacco sunburst and mahogany finish options listed, all with the plain black pickguard...
The difference between the 2 basses is that the trbx505 has a mahogany body and comes in solid finishes. the trbx605 on the other hand has an alder body and comes in a variety of flame maple finishes. both electronics are similar and both can provide superb sound quality. you really can't go wrong with either one. yamaha makes pretty solid bass guitars.
@@afil7033 That's a good one. I have a yamaha bb235. it's a more affordable passive yamaha bb bass and it has an awesome sound. especially with stainless steel strings. it even sounds killer with distortion.
great comparison video and as always great technique that makes both basses sound good. I'm about to order a V7 Vintage alder, I made up my mind almost instantly after I heard you play it. Can you advise where you're getting your backing tracks from, they sound very good.
In this comparison, I like the clearer sound of the Yamaha.
I hear it too on active mode, but passive round V3 little better. Maybe it strings influence

I’m a little new to bass, so with the active parts, was that the closest you could get them to sounding the same?

El Yamaha un sonido más moderno, rico en medios altos y brillo!!

yamaha ‼️
Also sire V3 is much cheaper in India compared to 505.

More fair would be to compare V7 with BB734A. TRBX is humbuckers and it has a modern sound. V7 is classic sound.
Should be 735 with P7 PJ vs PJ 😀
If you get a chance to do the sire p7 and bb735a.... I would love to hear.
I prefer Sire in both passive and active modes....mostly in passive mode the Sire sounds is more "woody" and high end rich

I like Sire V3 better
Gotta say, I like the Yammy better...
I own the 505 and have to be honest. I like the Sire. Just that a slightly more colorful mid and pop. Close, but sorry Yami.
Sire B string out of tune, and fret buzz, and uneven volume made it hard to listen to.
You are pulling the strings down while fingering the note on the fretboard. That's not done.
Obviously Yamaha...
Sire V3 is my vote ...
