Interesting, what you have said about luxury brands. You are not the only "influencer" saying it. People are very tired of the high prices and sometimes low quality of these products, where the expense is due to their branding and not the quality of the product. Who doesn't want a Chanel tweed? Yes, no one is going to turn down a Chanel tweed😂 that’s one thing that I was trying to articulate, in some cases, quality is not what we are thinking it is anymore, which upset many about Dior, as a most recent example. Van cleef has also diminished their packaging in the name of sustainability, however, arguably, the previous package was more sustainable because it was easier to preserve and keep forever vs the current cheaper packaging.

The prices are ludicrous! there are so many really gorgeous bags and clothes now that are easily found online that are more appealing at the moment.
It seems to me that fashion totally ignores needs. Hey! Yes, as I mentioned, it’s a silhouette and overall trend of more top handles, shoulder bag and clutches being offered. Many bags have a strap to convert😊 Most things have momentum and the ebb and flow, but to some that’s the fun part to rediscover pieces in our closets or styles to shop!

I really appreciate your realistic approach to fashion and how you acknowledge that we still have our old stuff and it's okay to use it. I would do my own thing anyway, but it's really nice to see someone who advocates for that. I've seen videos where the person is talking about the fashion that is going out-of-style with derision, like it's a disease now and you must stay away from wearing it at all costs, or they imply that you're a loser if you keep wearing the item. Really annoying. Most of us can't just throw away our current wardrobe every time the fashion houses decide to change fashion. Your delivery is so pleasant, too. New subscriber here.
I really appreciate that!! Thank you for your feedback, means a lot. It’s top of mind for me that not everyone gets gifted clothes and/or paid to style them. I try to lead with that intention as well as think about what would make some feel pretty! Welcome ❤️
I'm just not a "cool" girl. I will continue to use my cross body bags. I love them and they are so convenient! I just bought a gorgeous leather bag in the Czech Republic when I was in Europe last month. It has a removable strap but it's a crossbody. I plan on using it a lot this fall.
So I just had to tell you that I also am a lifelong Anna of Green Gables fan, and I even played Diana in the school play in the seventh grade. Lol! I just found your channel and really enjoyed this video. What you said about not seeking out designer bags anymore really resonated with me I used to buy at least 1 to 2 high-end bags per year for many many years and now I’m not really on the lookout. If something finds me it does and if not, oh well. I’ve never been one to fall heavily for trends, so what I buy is either pretty classic or just something that is consistently “me” like bows. Anyway, great video!
Oh I love this! Thanks for sharing your love of Anne, and how fun to be on stage playing Diana, iconic! After a while you just feel played, appreciate you saying hi😂
haha! Everyone has one, literally don't know many people that don't have one. I think it's a symbol of being in "club", which I think as humans we crave that sense of belonging. Coach was very in when I was growing up in the 90's! I begged my parents for one and they simply said "no". LOL
All the LV hate is valid, but I spent my career in Asia as a buyer, it just brings me nostalgia. For my honeymoon I splurged on a 24" carry-on. Buying at the LV boutique in Hong Kong saved a lot of duty $$ . My son brought the bag to college to the hoots of his frat, calling him "bougie boy", grown boys are so funny... and I still get some moments from LV.
Crossbody bags will be in my closet forever. LOL Having to constantly push the strap back up on my shoulder, or needing to have one hand occupied by holding a bag is not happening for me. I need freedom of movement when I am out and about. I take the IG & Pinterest photos with a grain of salt, as they are posed photos and not how those ladies are in real life.
Thanks for the great video. It got me thinking about practicality v. trends a bit, too. Living in a high crime urban center where you walk a lot or take public transit carrying all kinds of things v. driving everywhere from your safe garage to a safe parking place near your destination means cross body bags will always be papular in those contexts. This also drives shoe choices so I’m thrilled to see heels are out so I can look trendy and be practical!
So happy that ripped jeans are out never have or will buy a pair. Also happy to see the end of name brand cross body bags or camera bags go, if I see another Mimco or country road bag 🤪. Understated has always been my style never followed free advertising for companies. Your whole blog resonates with me 🙏 dirty sneakers 🙈 why
With Democrat soft-on-crime policies, I don’t feel safe carrying any bag except for a cross-body that I can keep close to my body. That’s just reality.
I think there's a lot to be said for supporting your local leatherworkers and small fashion businesses. You can find some lovely, well-made, well-designed bags, belts, wallets, and so forth at art/craft fairs, horse shows, and other events where craftspeople sell their wares. Their booths always smell wonderful, too.
Love this video. Your on point with luxury, just went to Paris and purchased from LV, honestly the whole buying experience has even lost it’s excitement and regret giving them my money!
I don’t remember who said it but someone famous said ( and I agree) “Trends are for the anxious.” My mother gave me good advice when I was young, She said wear what flatters you and what makes you feel good. Wear the clothes- don’t let the clothes wear you. I haven’t forgotten and am always comfortable in what I wear, never even think about it.
As I am currently recovering from foot surgery, I bought some very similar to GG (chunky with a glitter star), I think I gotta keep them because no kitten heels will be happening here
I just can't mix metals. I know it is in, but it looks weird to me. I love my crossbodies and I don't care if they are in or out, I'll keep using mine. They are comfier and safer. I can do a shoulder bag too but a clutch or top handle, no. Too much work to carry a bag and worry about setting it down somewhere and losing it. I like puffed sleeves too, not big ones but little ones. I also like flutter sleeves. Both are flattering for pear shapes.
Trends are fun as long as they're not treated as divine edicts. I prefer to think of them (when I think of them at all) as an invitation to try something new, rather than an order to abandon things I love that may not be this year's "it" look. As far as I'm concerned, as long as you combine the elements of an outfit carefully, there are very few individual items that are so far out of fashion as to be unwearable (and on the rare occasions that does happen, it's generally something so horrifically ugly we must all have been insane to buy it in the first place!)
I'm so glad you commented on Luxury. You hit every single nail on the head!👍 They've cut back on not only the contents but the luxury part of the presentation along with customer service. And with any findings of shenanigans or dirty deeds of the history/current doings business-wise...it doesn't seem so impressive or special. I totally agree with you. So what are they doing? What am I doing?? I look for quality and what I like. I never liked brand names splattered across anything anyway!
Absolutely!! And thanks for the feedback. 😊 I think the customer service is spotty too. Sometimes they make you feel like you don’t belong there and it’s not a good feeling!
I don’t usually follow fashion channels but I am following yours because you are not driving purchases you are focusing how to incorporate pieces and just stay updated!
I appreciate that so much! Means a lot❤️ I love shopping TBH esp for key seasonal pieces but I believe in being creative to pull looks together. Thanks for saying hi😊
I'm a Megan Follows Green Gables girl!!! My favorite movie of all time. I like puffed sleeves but can do big ones I'm a small person:) Love your take on the trends!!
Clutches are a big no for me. They need a little handle or loop so I can hold a drink or get appetizers during cocktail hour. That’s the thing about handbags- they need to be practical as well as pretty.
Bags are very situation specific. Although the crossbody maybe less trendy across the board, it comes down to when and where you wear it. Great video! ❤
When will this fad end with people posting pictures of themselves with phones in hands taking selfies? It's getting obnoxious. Surely good pictures can be taken w/o having to do that.
Hi there!! I’m new to your channel as of today and I love your style!! This was a very interesting video that I agree with you totally!!! Anne of green gables, oh yes love it!!! Cheers and love from Canada 🇨🇦
I love crossbody bags with removable or convertible straps. Makes them so much more versatile. I recently purchased a crossbody, but after playing with it at home and realizing there was no way to convert, remove, or even hide the long strap, I returned it.
haha, I'm still about to sew myself a puffy shirt with Liberty fabric. I know it's not the most current look but I love Liberty. 🌺 And yeah, I have been known to make the fashion flubber of looking too costumey . Little House on the Prairie reboot, here I come. 😁
I am not even goona lie puff sleeves till I die. Because “Marilla look at the puffs!” 😆I’m sorry I couldn’t resist giving an Anne of Green Gables quote.❤
@@ZibaLennox Me too! “You look ridiculous you will have to turn sideways to get through the door.” 😆It’s amazing the things you remember and the things you don’t.
Good quality, well- made anything is always appreciated. Paying more for this is understandable. 'You get what you pay for' ...right? Yet when the cost exceeds the quality is when I have to opt out.
I have mixed my metals in jewellery before it was fashionable. I have worn silver charms on gold chains and even worn gold and silver earrings at the same time. I have a few pairs of jeans I got from a little shop in the Uk called Be You where they carry clothes made in Italy. I got a few pairs of what they call cocoon jeans. They are loose in the leg and get a bit narrower at the ankle. In high school I had a wing tip collard blouse with leg-of-mutton sleeves on it that my mum made me. I wish I had those blouses still.
Speaking of controversy - Balenciaga's child sexploitation. Imo, that goes way beyond controversial. It was an intentionally degenerate ad by Balenciaga possibly meant to gauge how far they could push the public's limit. I'm glad the public pushed back. Yet you displayed runners by the brand and didn't mention it.
Hey Gremlin! I used the sneakers of examples of an out of trend style and later listed Balenciaga as an example of a scandal laden brand. The purpose of this video was not a deep dive of luxury brand scandals, that would make a great video, but it was not this one.
I love a crossbody bag. Especially when traveling because it's more secure and I don't really follow trends. I wear what I like whenever I like, fragrances included😉✌🏽💕
I remodel my clothes when they are out of fashion. I just changed a favourite jacket with somewhat oversized shoulders to standard shoulders. Looks so much better too. Should have don this a long time ago. Also changed a ma I dress with shoe string straps. Made it below the knee and used the It off piece to create wider straps, then put two rows of elastic for a fitted high waited look. Friends thought I bought a new dress. There are a ton of ways to refashion clothes.
As a very petite woman, I'm so glad to see the end of some of these trends, which are even less flattering on petites than they are on larger women (looking at you, huge pants and huge sleeves).
When you are petite (5'2" & 100 # when I was 20) you need to learn what suits your figure, and not what is 'in style'. And it gets even more important as you age and it isn't as easy to maintain that low weight.
Still love the crossbody due to functionality of it, still wearing the chunky dad sneakers because i need it for my commute to work (living in one of the largest metropolitan city), and also still love the puff sleeves but thats because it kind of reminds me of my ethnic background culture which is called "Filipiniana" but all good points!
Oh I love that! Things that remind us of our culture are so special! What type of chunky sneakers have you found to be comfortable? For me, they’re usually so clunky it tires my feet!
@@ZibaLennoxTbh, the new balance wasn't it for me. I go for Hokas! Hokas are so comfy and my friend who is an Occupational Therapist and my podiatrists love Hokas for their patients!
I have never worn any bag for fashion reasons: practicality is what matters. A crossbody may spoil the line of a good suit or frock, say, but I need one most of the time.
There are beautiful, high quality bags that don’t have the crazy price or flashy label. I love Oroton, which is an iconic Australian brand. Their quality is excellent but the styles are understated (more quiet luxury). I hit the outlet online and do super well. A bag has to be functional for me, first and foremost.
I’ll move to my handheld and shoulder bags during my daily life but I’m sticking to my crossbody bags for vacation. Much more secure and hard to steal.
I have always liked a shoulder bag or one I hang on my arm, a clutch for going out to dinner/evening, etc.... and only recently got 2 cross body bags...I don't know why I haven't had them all my life!!! So handy, but they're small, so I still need my big shoulder bag for all the crap I have to take everywhere!!😊😊😂
I hate an impractical bag. Unless I am going somewhere with a completely secure table top I can put it down on, I don’t want it. I live in a big city and the thought of having to physically hold my bag all night or being constantly worried about it being stolen is a no.

Love it!! I am not a cool girl either nor a cool mom either! 😂😂
Can’t help but cringe when I see a LV tote or bag.
They are now Coach bags to me. Everyone has one. Not so special to have.
haha! Everyone has one, literally don't know many people that don't have one. I think it's a symbol of being in "club", which I think as humans we crave that sense of belonging. Coach was very in when I was growing up in the 90's! I begged my parents for one and they simply said "no". LOL
Coach (especially vintage Coach) are probably much better quality tbh. I would rather carry the Coach bag. I never got into the whole LV craze.
Great!
Thank you for sharing. Im not into trends but like seeing whats in and out.
It’s fun!! Yay, thanks 😊
Will never let go of my crossbody bag. It will always be functional, classic and city chic.
As you shouldn’t 😊
I agree 100% about the high quality well made bags without the branding!
Do you have any faves? Someone mentioned Aupen! I love them but they haven’t been back.
Thank you for your feedback!! As a city expat I am very familiar with the reality of city living!!
So happy that ripped jeans are out never have or will buy a pair. Also happy to see the end of name brand cross body bags or camera bags go, if I see another Mimco or country road bag 🤪. Understated has always been my style never followed free advertising for companies. Your whole blog resonates with me 🙏 dirty sneakers 🙈 why
lol! It’s wild, right? The dirty sneakers? Brilliant marketing
I totally agree! Those really are hidden gems!
Love this video. Your on point with luxury, just went to Paris and purchased from LV, honestly the whole buying experience has even lost it’s excitement and regret giving them my money!
What did you buy? I got an LV in Paris too and it was a very good deal but hardly wear it🤦♀️
I love puff sleeves and very feminine styles!
Always a lover of fem ❤️
I don’t remember who said it but someone famous said ( and I agree) “Trends are for the anxious.” My mother gave me good advice when I was young, She said wear what flatters you and what makes you feel good. Wear the clothes- don’t let the clothes wear you. I haven’t forgotten and am always comfortable in what I wear, never even think about it.
Moms know best! I view fashion trends as a sport, it has to be fun and used for inspiration, but never taken to seriously,❤️
Love, love, love my GoldenGoose. They are the pairs I reach for most and feel amazing to wear.
That’s very important, I don’t have any but many of my friends do!
I'm a pear shape too! :)
I love you so much! I recently just found your kislux and i’m in love!! Your videos are so fun and you energy is just MWAH! keep living your life
Trends are fun as long as they're not treated as divine edicts.
❤️
Worn crossover bags since I was teen….im 60 😂 mine aren’t going anywhere.
Great!! Love that
The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
I'm a Megan Follows Green Gables girl!!! My favorite movie of all time. I like puffed sleeves but can do big ones I'm a small person:)
Love your take on the trends!!
Thanks so much Rachel! And cheers for Anne of Green Gables! Lmk if you know where one can watch the original!
The original Anne Of Green Gables films are the best. Megan Follows will always be my favourite Anne Shirley❤
Loved Anne of Green Gables when I was growing up, such good memories.
Great ideas.. thank you! 🙏🏼💚🥰💗💜
same!!! HI!
Clutches are a big no for me. They need a little handle or loop so I can hold a drink or get appetizers during cocktail hour.
That’s the thing about handbags- they need to be practical as well as pretty.
Yes! Otherwise you abandon them!
Bags are very situation specific. Although the crossbody maybe less trendy across the board, it comes down to when and where you wear it. Great video! ❤
Thanks for your feedback and yes fashion and bags are very personal 😊
I’ve always hated puff sleeves. I might be able to find blouses I love again.
Haha! They are very polarizing 🙏😂
Mixing metals is an amazing idea!! I'm starting today
Have fun! I have been loving it❤️
@@ZibaLennox I've done it every day since I saw this video and I'm really loving it
Me wearing crossbody forever because shoulder bags make me moody 😂 (srsly)
Oh interesting! What bag was it?
@@ZibaLennox, it was just a fairly basic Vince Camuto leather crossbody.
HEY kislux !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
Inane. The worst thing about social media platforms is the myriad of people who think they have something to offer viewers. They don't.
Then why click on the video? Pro-tip: Maybe get off SM? 😂
Balenciaga has children in literal bondage outfits. Everyone should throw away their Balenciaga and condemn that.
😍 Love the ‘Anne of Green Gables’ reference on the puff sleeves
Always think of her with them!
haha, I'm still about to sew myself a puffy shirt with Liberty fabric.
Love it! I can still picture Marilla’s face when Anne was saying it 😂😂
@@ZibaLennox Me too! “You look ridiculous you will have to turn sideways to get through the door.” 😆It’s amazing the things you remember and the things you don’t.
kislux I love you so much and watching your videos makes my day brighter
With theft on the rise I’m wearing my cross body bag I’m not taking my chances because of fashion trends . Lol
As you shouldn’t. 😊
I love your jeans you wore with the crossbody bag, what are they?
Hi! liketk.it/4N2SK linked here!
I love a good puff sleeve. I've always worn them my whole adult life. It's just my style.
That’s amazing to have a signature style🙏❤️
I felt this wonderful feeling in my mind, body and soul when she said “I prefer kislux
Good quality, well- made anything is always appreciated. Paying more for this is understandable. 'You get what you pay for' ...right? Yet when the cost exceeds the quality is when I have to opt out.
Well said! Yes, it’s maddening 😱
The cocoon jeans sound like barrel jeans?!
@@ZibaLennoxThanks for the reply. I hear you. However, using that particular sneaker brand as an example was a turn-off tbh.
I will never get rid of my crossbody!
David Yurman has been mixing metals for years. I have bracelet stacks and with mixed gems too
Another great example!
I love a crossbody bag. Especially when traveling because it's more secure and I don't really follow trends. I wear what I like whenever I like, fragrances included😉✌🏽💕
What fragrances do you like? Have been searching for a new scent!
@ZibaLennox Right now, I'm loving Akro Bake, Alot from Julianna's Fragrances and Dua Brand😅, Delizia Di Marshmallow and Libre Intense.
you’re literally my comfort person i love you kislux !
Great ideas!
As a very petite woman, I'm so glad to see the end of some of these trends, which are even less flattering on petites than they are on larger women (looking at you, huge pants and huge sleeves).
How tall are you?!
@@ZibaLennox 5' 110#. It's so hard to find anything that fits!
@@jhwatchlist6927 you're a model! :)
@@ZibaLennox You're sweet. I'm 76.
When you are petite (5'2" & 100 # when I was 20) you need to learn what suits your figure, and not what is 'in style'. And it gets even more important as you age and it isn't as easy to maintain that low weight.
The best part was when Matthew was buying the dress for Anne. Love AGG. Love your video.❤
Omg yes! Unconditional love!
No one needs to be limited in fashion or anything else. Love whatever you love and not what others say you should. ✌️ ❤
I like my crossbody bag to be smaller, preferably max 8 inches/ 20cm in width. Smaller still feels trendier not too bulky and clumsy personally
That’s a great size!❤️
I have never worn any bag for fashion reasons: practicality is what matters. A crossbody may spoil the line of a good suit or frock, say, but I need one
most of the time.
I think for a long time it has been part of the “line”.
I like your balanced approach to style.
Thanks so much Rebecca, I think the most important thing is to have fun and not spend money unwisely!! :) Learned the hard way.
Thanks for sharing!! Will take a look😍
I may be crazy but if metals are neutral, why wouldn’t you mix them? I have never questioned that for over thirty years.
You’re ahead of the times!
I’ll move to my handheld and shoulder bags during my daily life but I’m sticking to my crossbody bags for vacation. Much more secure and hard to steal.
Smart!
One thousand percent!! Sometimes I have the double bag sitch going on 😅
I hate an impractical bag. Unless I am going somewhere with a completely secure table top I can put it down on, I don’t want it. I live in a big city and the thought of having to physically hold my bag all night or being constantly worried about it being stolen is a no.
I was OBSESSED with that version of Anne of Green Gables.
The original?
I have always loved the look of mixed metals.
Me too! It’s strangely polarizing topic but I think it’s classic and fun.
I love my crossbody’s too but will definitely try the strap hack you showed!
It works on most front flaps! Yay!
