this is kind of an old video, but couldn't you use one of your sharp knives to quickly stab the crabs' heads before you boil them to prevent pain? seems more humane to me :3 Still fresh and better for the crabs
Living boil ... is a hard thing for EVERY living subjekt u can´t say it´s a fuxken crab ... are u a "fuxken" parasite on this planet who can Destroy every natural enemy with (i took the american way) ur weapon or other ultilities that given by humanity craftwork. I grew up in Jekyll Island St Simons Island area. I have always loved Blue Crab. To me they are the best! Love your show by the way and since watching your channel I now have Everglade seasoning in my kitchen arsenal!
Discovered you guys today and I am totally hooked! Thank you guys for posting awesome videos like this. Your adventures are amazing! Finally found a channel worth watching.
Sitting here at 8am in Canada, with minus 32 celcius outside! watching you catch and eat crab is making me wanna sell everything I own and move to Florida!!! Great video!
I like this video. The method used to prepare the crab is different to how we do it here in Trinidad and Tobago. We normally clean/gut the crab before we put it n the pot (they are already dead by the time they are ready to enter the pot). And we normally cook our crab in either a curry sauce ("Cury crab") or in a kind of thick 'soup' we call callaloo.
I have fallen in love with your videos and your family, dogs included. You make me smile and everything you cook and eat looks so delicious. Thank you for great entertainment.
I love blue crabs. Never had stone crabs. I love King crab and snow crabs are second to the King crabs. I wouldn't turn any of them down. Everything looks so delicious.
@@MrGRking being from Maryland I can say both are excellent. I kind of like stone crab a little better because the meat is a touch sweeter but blue crab has amazing meat to but it's just a little harder to get out.
I watched this just to catch up on your prior videos and was AMAZED that that was Sarah on the boat. I didn't recognize her until the end. She needs to be prioritized on all of your videos. Of course you do it now!!!!!
I just started watching you about a month ago and really enjoy all your videos, I was on vacation in Daytona a week ago and went to Wal-Mart and picked up some Everglades and I must say I really like it, I've used all four so far and really love the flavor it adds to chicken and pork and especially beef, I hope you and your family get better soon and God bless you.
im trying to keep 2 blue crabs as a pet but its probably the most physically exhausting work on earth maintaining their huge amounts of waste. i should just eat them instead
Hey bro...I always enjoy your videos man from catching to cooking. Love your family, especially when you invite or share with neighbors, also love when you say the grace before you all eat....God Bless.👍👍
I moved to Cape Coral from Maine 4yrs ago. Love your channel! Reminds me of when I did recreational lobstering and clam digging in Maine. I love blue crab but I have to admit lobster and rock crab in Maine is the tastiest.
Best meat in the claws, and the claws are enough. Do you know, how long a craps need to be fullgrown? The claws will grow faster, then to wait until juvenile craps full grown.
As previous poster stated, stone crabs take a long time to grow. It's best to break off 1 claw and throw the crab back so they can spawn and next year there will be even more claws to harvest. Reason I say 1 claw is so the crab can defend itself against other crabs and predators as well as catch food.
Hi dude, great channel, i am from Guayaquil - Ecuador, here we have red crab and is delicious but we cocking the crab of the other way, water, garlic, beer, salt, pepper, cilantro (don't know in english the name of cilantro) plátano yellow and green, and we eat the crab with rice and pico de gallo (pico de gallo is onion, tomato, cilantro, salt, pepper and lemon) Congrats and thank you for share this vídeos. My name is John 👍
Gytis Simoliunas Yea, that show the deadliest catch on the discovery channel that's what they're are catching. Gordon Ramsey also has a RUclips clip where he dives for them in a frozen lake in Alaska.
Shonie Dread the taste is smother than any normal crab because of (well that's what I believe) mud and other minerals, mud crabs are really, really tasty and delicious.
why just take the claws of the Stone crab? I know that they will grow back, but you render the crab defenseless and unable to fee itself. Just wondering
crabs have a second set of smaller claws by their mandibles that they actually use to eat, the big claws are mostly for holding food or defense. They grow back very quickly.
I know that. I live on the southern coast of Oregon, there's plenty of crabs. my question is/ was how can that crab eat? The claws are critical to holding their food as the mandiibles do their job. Why not take the entire crab? There is plenty of meat left other then the claws. My point is Nick, and I'm not judging, that is illegal to do just taking claws in some states. Why? because it circumvents the limit laws, it doesn't discriminate between acceptable size, and it doesn't allow the fisheries to determine if a female crab, which needs it's defenses, was de clawed. No hard feelings dude. I'm not trying to be difficult, I"m trying to understand.
I think he took the claw off so that it wouldn’t pinch his dogs. They were in the water when he put the crab back in. Taking one claw off also won’t kill the crab
Dungeness are by far my favorite! To be fair, even though I live in Louisiana... I live in North Louisiana so I haven't had blue crab since I was kid when I lived in Baton Rouge. Beings that was 30 years ago I don't remember at all how they taste now. I remember I did love em as a kid. The one's I've had in the past few years were Dungeness, Florida Stone, Snow, Queen, and King Crabs.
Oh yes, its the best part of it alright. I usually take the top shell and fill it up with rice and eat it from there. The yellow orange stuff is the best.
There are reasons why people don't eat the yellow stuff. Food is plenty so one can have the luxury to choose. Second, people know that in the yellow stuff is where toxic chemicals and pollutants are stored there. That yellow stuff is the fat of the crab. That is why it taste so good. Crabs are full of bacterias and pollutant chemicals so wash them well if you are eating the shell part of the crab. Wash the crab and shrimp well will keep you safe from problems these seafoods will give you. Clams and Oysters are full of bad bacterias. Some people are so sensitive even when they ate raw Oyster with fresh Lime juice still send them to the emergency room. Food poisoning is no laughing matter. This is one thing you will have to take it seriously. Back in the day when the world wasn't modernized Seafood was safe to consume. Not anymore. I take especially good care in the preparation of all Seafoods especially Crabs, Shrimps, Oysters, and all Clams.
James Long If a crab is in polluted water then the whole crab is contaminated. If caught in clean water the whole crab is safe to eat. Europeans eat the whole crab as well not just Asians. My 92 year old grandfather has been eating the whole crab since he was a child. Soooo yeah.

We do lots of Maryland blue crab when we can here on the east coast, but occasionally like to get some snow crab at the local store, unfortunately they are not fresh right out of the ocean. Your meals all look delicious! God bless your family
Love the videos! My favorite crab line-up: Soft shell blue crab; King crab; Dungeness crab; large blue crab (small ones just aren't worth the work); and stone crab
Was stationed (military) in Alaska for 4 years, the king crab was to die for. Then got transferred to Maryland, could not stop rolling in laughter when I saw the blue crab.
I grew up between Jupiter inlet and the 7 mile bridge fishing my whole life my kids and I eat blue crabs ever sunday it's a tradition we catch them fresh every Saturday we love fl blue crabs.
I Love King Crab, there's so much meat in them and I am from Wisconsin, I plan to order some of that Everglade seasoning off Amazon to try it out, if I like it, I'll order more of it from the website.
I lived in SE Alaska for 15 years and I vote for fresh King Crab. Most people in the Lower 48 have never had fresh King or Snow Crab. Once crab is frozen it doesn't taste as good. But I like all the kinds of crab I've tasted. Here in Oregon it's fresh Dungeness. I spent part of this morning picking Dungeness our neighbors brought us. A couple of crab cocktails tonight and I'll make crab cakes tomorrow evening using my own recipe. BTW, if you've never had deep fried King Crab leg sections with fresh King Crab you haven't lived.
