    My great-grandfather Maj. Simeon Stephen Sparkman who was with the U.S. Army Military Police worked at one of the POW camps in Florida during WW2. Not sure which one.

    As SS troops were for the most part held separate it is unusual for even a lowly sturmann would be kept with the G.P.

    If he was SS he was a Sturmann not a gefrieter. Same same but different name.

    dade city had pow camp 7.

      Dade City is one of the best documented of the camps.
