I enjoy all of Violets covers but this is probably my favorite.
Violet's emotion and that guitar work go together perfectly. In my late 40s very few songs speak to like they did as a teenager. But this gave me goosebumps🖤🖤🖤

this is my first exposure to Meg Myers, those lyric... but damn.. the guitar with vocals in this cover is... hauntingly deep. Like the singer connected with the lyrics.

Yep, vibrato like mochiococaine said, but Violet tones it up a bit with that smoky, sultry inflection she adds to the "youUuUuUuUu," haha.
She is actually riffing! I didn't notice this until you pointed it out. A vibrado would just last longer. Riffing is a set of fast moving notes, usually short and on one syllable or sound.
There's vibrato and then there's tremolo

Holy crap, kudos to you and Dan vasc for standing the stress test of time with my music because if a cover artist only has one good track, 10:1 I don't keep up with them, let alone have dedicated playlists with different selections of your songs for the time. whether it's gaming, the gym, or work, Violet you are by far one of the best musicians out there. I found you through your covers and by now i dont even remember which one was first because god damn it. They are all great. But above the covers are your originals that kept me checking in. Wondering when the new albumn or single is going to release! It's been a sad last decade of living. Thank you for making life that much more tolerable, every 3-6 minutes at a time
This is one of those covers that is about as good as the original, which is meant as a huge compliment. Also those high-cheek dimples are about the best thing that ever happened.
WHY DOESNT THIS HAVE MILLIONS OF VIEWS?! I've been listening to V-O for awhile and this is by FAAAAAAR her best in terms of emotion and vocally passionate performances and it slays my soul to shreds.

The song was already good but you just took it to the next level, interpreting the angst and passion with melodic voice, along with this hypnotizing heavy metal riff. Congratulations on this incredible cover and please make some more Emo covers.

This is a very good cover! I like the tone and the rich flavorful choices made with lyrics... but the chorus does lack some of the punch and power that Meg gets in there. Over all a great version of the song! Well done!

Totally agree with this comment. I was a bit disappointed in this cover, not that it wasn't good, bit misleading tho calling it a metal cover. Meg is way more metal in her delivery and overall energy. In this version, this girl seemed to be a bit too concerned with trying to look emotional, came off fake.
Meg has been through some serious shit (maybe abuse). That's why she can sing it with conviction. Every song I've heard she sings about heartbreak and revenge.
@@joetroutt7425 yes I know. She's incredible and such a survivor. So many artists have had trauma in some form or another in their pasts but not all are able to reach into those dark places and channel their emotions through their work. I believe everyone has the ability too, but it takes work. Meg has also spoke of the therapy she's done in order to get a better handle on her experiences and learn to connect.

To all of the haters, I have one of Meg's original paintings on my wall at my home. It is not a question of metal vs. More metal. The guitars are harder on this cover. I absolutely love Violet and more when she duets with Lauren. On this song, she is just missing Meg's subtlety and sarcasm. That is OK Violet is brave for trying to put her own spin on this song. Do you remember. Meg just shot to the moon doing a cover of someone else's song?
