It's not a TPC video unless it's reuploaded. But seriously, somehow I forgot the stat card for Blue Hawk, so I just added it in. Anyways, stay tuned; my 2020 Coaster Recap will be coming next!
Thank you for giving six flags st louis some representation. Its my home park and no one ever talks about it While I feel silver dollar city is the better park, sfstl will have a soft spot in my heart for many of my first ever rides.
The PlatinumDiva they better keep it. its the last arrow mega looper in existence. And thank god its in six flags. Because it would already be demolished if it existed at a cedarfair park
The only coaster to ever make me leave a park immediately. POS. I'd rather them bring back that green lantern nonsense. Hell, I rode Timber Wolf before the retrack.
The B&M pre drop was used to reduce stress on the chain. They have since reconfigured their chainlift to reduce the stress, therefore eliminating the need for that pre-drop. I don't think we will be seeing those anymore. But a giga with a pre-drop would be awesome.
Growing up with Six Flags St. Louis as my home park, im happy to see the love for the boss! Its still so great even if I was one of the few who miss the 540° helix at the end
My favorite underrated coaster is Rollin' Thunder at The Park at OWA. I'll just come out and say it: I think Zamperla is pretty good at making coasters now.
I rode it in all three rows, and I prefer the middle or back rows. The front row is a lil too whippy IMO. The airtime is insane during that station run.
@@quidproquojoe9046 It's technically actually my home park too. Still pretty small, I feel like it'll get more recognition in a few years when they start putting in more expansions.
AWESOME VIDEOOO!!! I love Viper!! It's the first rollercoaster that I've ridden, everybody say that It's really rough but even It was my first time riding rollercoasters I didn't feel it that way. Everytime that I come to magic it is the first ride that I get on. Viper really made me a thrill seeker! Also Goliath is my second favorite ride at magic mountain.💖💖
Riding a stand up coaster is legit high up on my bucket list. Everyone always trashes on them, but I have never experienced one. I don't expect much of it, but I just wanna get on one. Sadly, there's not a single stand up coaster even remotely close to where I live.
Would be nice if the had some sort of tutorial while in line if there is a trick to it. Went on Mantis in Cedar Point before it was converted. It put such an uncomfortable force on my knees that I missed the ride trying to get comfortable. I swore the style of coaster off.
I'm glad you added the Thunderbolt to this list. I live mile away from Luna Park and I've ridden it probably around 10 times. It is not very rough and give excellent ejector airtime. Also the amount of G-forces you get at the bottom of the drop is amazing. Also unlimited tickets are expensive because they need it to keep the Coney Island Cyclone operational.
Raging Bull is one of my favorite coasters of all time. I absolutely adore the air time and the smooth feeling of the first drop. The back is definitely where you want to be, because it feels as if you're flying!!!
Those are some great underrated coasters! In my opinion, some rides that exceded my expectation included Cornball Express, Thunder Run, American Eagle, and T3
Almost every single Arrow Looper is underrated in my opinion. If you're tall enough to clear the over the shoulder restraints, then you will not get any head banging. The roughness has a unique charm in my opinion. Also great video Peter! Keep up good work 👍
I agree ....except for KD's Anaconda which has a rather painful ('butterfly'?) section after the mid brake run. Otherwise, I still love classic Arrow Loopers like the legendary Loch Ness Monster, the Tennessee Tornado and (sad to hear it's being removed) Vortex at KI.
Ive ridden nearly all the B&M hypers and Raging Bulls drop is the best IMO. The back row is insane. When you feel the speed off the pre drop and watch the front of the train dissappear in front of you, you know you're going to get launched
Thanks for giving credit to stand up coasters! There was a day at King's Island where the lines were so short the operators let me ride the King Cobra several times in a row before having to go through the empty queue again. (Trains were never more than half full, park was just deserted that day.) It was never boring and I think I got in about 30 rides before heading off to meet my mother. It is a shame we lost that one!
Mannnnnnnnnn I was so happy to see Viper make this list that’s one of my most favorite rides at Magic Mountain sure I get beat up but I just love the feel of it I love the rush and that loop in the air is just amazing I love this whole ride and never get tired of it and I’ve been riding it for years 💜
The little drop before the main drop on Raging Bull is an old B&M standard. It is on a lot of their old crop. It is done to relieve stress on the lift hill chain and actually reduces the overall G on the drop.
Yes! Thank you Theme Park Crazy for pointing out that viper really isn’t a horrible ride people make it out to be. Magic mountain is my home park and viper isn’t the most memorable ride but it wasn’t bad at all!
Timberwolf is amazing. When this was my home park, I marathoned it when my family was in Planet Snoopy and I could ride it all day and the Boss is the same
I'd give American Eagle an underrated ribbon. When it races, it's incredibly fun and all it needs is some love to become one of the best rides in the park. Even if it does get the RMC treatment, I think it should still capture the moments that made the original so beautiful.
Two of my favorite underrated coasters are Raging Bull at Six Flags Great America and the now defunct Drachen Fire formerly of BGW. I love Raging Bull, it is my favorite B&M Hyper. It's ashame that it gets bashed so much for not having a ton of airtime, but what airtime it does have is amazing. I have also ridden Apollo's Chariot at BGW and Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure and prefer Raging Bull. Drachen Fire was my favorite coaster at BGW at the time. I road it before the corkscrew was removed in between the brake run and the cutback element, which was the only part of the ride that I would hit my head but it wasn't bad enough to keep me from riding 5 or 6 times in one day.
I liked Drachen Fire too. I don't remember it being jerky and rode it multiple times each visit. Not every rollercoaster is going to be as smooth as a B&M hyper. Sometimes, people complain too much. I miss it. ....I'm looking forward to Pantheon in 2020. I'm crossing my fingers that it will be a great one.
I live in Delaware and I have family in Jersey. I have been to playland and have stood directly in front of galeforce, even riding the small coaster around it. But my family thought it was too expensive and I’ve never ridden it. Thanks for the info and now I can know how it feels from someone with experience
Most underrated to me are Wild Thing at Valleyfair, Gatekeeper at Cedar Point, Alpengeist at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, the Flight of Fear models, and Thunder Dolphin at Tokyo Dome City.
I am happy you put in some good words for Goliath, Riddler's Revenge, and Viper. Viper in particular always gets unfairly hated on despite being and awesome ride, and Riddler's Revenge gets overlooked cause it's a stand up coaster. Edit: Honestly Riddler's Revenge is one of my personal favorite coasters.
Bruh, I’ve ridden GaleForce. I live in NJ and I live close enough to Castaway Cove to drive there, and lemme tell you, it’s nothing like any roller coaster I’ve ridden before. It literally launches you forward, AND THEN rolls you backwards, and the rest is up to your imagination.
An underrated coaster in my book is Rattenmuhle at Familypark in Austria,it’s just a hell load of fun and good theming,it’s by far the best Gerstlauer Bobsled I have ridden
It was nice meeting you at Coaster Con last year and both being able to attend the ACE Coaster Landmark ceremony at Montezooma's Revenge. Highly agree with the rides you mentioned at Six Flags Magic Mountain. In fact, I rode Viper more than any other coaster at the park during the convention.
The Boss has gotten better since it got reprofiled. On one hand I miss the helix at the end, but on the other hand I don't miss the ride feeling like a car crash.
The problem is they have to bring you to a full stop on the mid coarse. Hell, they slow you so much the first car hangs over the drop. Really kills the second half other that the final turnaround imo
Did you ride the boss before or after they took out the final helix? That helix was the best part of the ride and the boss is just not the same without it
Raging Bull is one of my most favorite roller coasters of all time. In fact it was the very first roller coaster that I rode and I loved how smooth this roller coaster is.
If you liked Goliath than you'll really like Titan. It is actually notably better because it slows down less on the lift, has an extra Helix which is extremely intense, and some say the downward Helix later on is more intense.
I've been on almost all of these this year, and I agree with most. A few of the rides were too rough for me to enjoy personally, but they have great potential if you can live with it. Riddler's Revenge was running amazing. Probably my #3 coaster in the park(x2, twisted colossus). Haven't been on green lantern, but I got on it as chang and found that great too. I was also a fan of mantis. With the exception of iron wolf, I've enjoyed stand ups.
Viper was one of my 2 favorite coasters (the other being Space Mountain). I remember one day years ago deciding to ride both Viper and Space Mountain on the same day. Good times!
As someone who rides Viper every single day for work purposes... it's really painful. Pretty cool that it's one of the last of a dead/dying breed of coasters, but if it wasn't for the fact that it's one of the most reliable coasters in the park, I think it would be next on the chopping block at Magic Mountain.
Speaking as a Missourian: * You're the first Timberwolf stan I've seen in my entire life. I enjoy the ride well enough, and I guess familiarity breeds some degree of contempt, because I kind of want it Old Yellered at this point. It's lived an extremely good life, but WOF is in dire need of new fun coasters; we've been waiting since like '09 for it. * The Boss, during my trip, had like zero line. It was rad to ride it a few times in a row.
Viper is still a real popular ride considering it turned 30 this year. It would only be seen as unpopular (and thus underrated in your book) by any stretch because of its age and the fact that that ride is from another era within Magic Mountain. When I was growing up that ride was the most talked about thing when people brought up the park.
love your vids theme park crazy I am a proud subscriber 👍 I do feel like viper is a great underated coaster it is actually in my top 5 coasters at six flags magic mountain 😱
so happy to see the boss on here. ive lived in stl my whole life and didn’t ride it until 2 years ago due to the horror stories i had heard about it. now it’s one of my favorites
This is sooooooooo accurate!!! My brother and I actually rode Galeforce within a month of its original opening and we loved it! It’s his favorite coaster and he has like 150 credits lol
Here's what I think of these coasters: 10) I have a love/hate relationship with Viper. Somedays it runs VERY aggressive, while some days it's not as rough. However, I have a soft spot for this coaster, and ride it every time I go to Magic Mountain ( which is my home park). 9) Agree with you when it comes to riding them a "special way". If done right, these coasters can be really fun. GL also has a really solid layout. 8) Haven't ridden 7) Haven't ridden 6) Completely, 100% agree. I LOVE Goliath, one of my top 10 hypers. It may not be an airtime machine like B&M hypers, but it has a solid, smooth layout, with a terrific view of Magic Mountain from above. Ride it at night especially. 5) Haven't ridden. 4) Haven't ridden. . 3) Raging Bull seems to get the same flack Goliath does. Maybe I'm just an older enthusiasts ( having been an enthusiasts for over 20 years), but I remember back when RB and Goliath were among the top coasters in the country. I kinda wish there were more hyper-twister layouts. They're a lot of fun. 2) Personally, Riddler is in my top 5 for SFMM. I think it has one of B&M's best layouts, very reminiscent of Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa. 1) Boss is the star attraction at SFSTL. A jacked up version of The Beast I like to think.
Was at world's of fun this past summer for the first time since the early 90s when timber wolf opened. Loved the ride. Wish I could have ridden it's original layout, but the new banked turn finale was fun too.
Trick with Viper is if you sit in the front, keep your head forward. If you sit in the back keep your head back. The new train they recently got does help a good amount.
my roommate got a concussion from riding green lantern back in 2016. i was riding beside her and didn’t have any issues, but i guess the head banging can be a mixed bag.
I’m enjoying the fact you included so far 2 from my home park or should I say hometown park since I’m in Vegas now. I’ll admit I felt head banging on Viper but still my favorite at Magic Mountain.
You should ride "The Afterburn" at Carowinds. It's an amazing coaster. Gives u the illusion of flying due to the fact it was originally designed and named after the movie Top Gun.
It's not a TPC video unless it's reuploaded. But seriously, somehow I forgot the stat card for Blue Hawk, so I just added it in. Anyways, stay tuned; my 2020 Coaster Recap will be coming next!

Theme Park Crazy I agree about the B&M standup thing It’s all in how you adjust the seat height use harness to help adjust
Thank you for giving six flags st louis some representation. Its my home park and no one ever talks about it

The PlatinumDiva they better keep it. its the last arrow mega looper in existence. And thank god its in six flags. Because it would already be demolished if it existed at a cedarfair park
Clutch Master, the good thing is, that arrows don’t require much Maintenece, with a few exceptions
Viper is such a headbanger. I haven't ridden it since like 2007 because it's just too painful for me to enjoy.
The only coaster to ever make me leave a park immediately. POS. I'd rather them bring back that green lantern nonsense. Hell, I rode Timber Wolf before the retrack.
I like that you can see Viper in movies like Encino Man, and they even call it "Viper".
The word underrated is overrated
*perfect logic*
I'd say more overused than overrated
Explains a lot
@Ken Norcott it still explains a lot.
Ken Norcott ohhhhh, sorry 😐
@Ken Norcott yep

It wasnt stress, it was just a way for the catch dog on the bottom of the track to disengage with the chain. Nothing to do with the stress.
It would be hard to appreciate it in the back row, which is where you have to sit for airtime

Thanks for loving on Timber Wolf! I have been enjoying this bad boy since it opened in 1989 and you waited over an hour to get on. So many memories!
So happy to see Timber Wolf on this list! I've always liked it, and it's even better now with the re-track, though I do somewhat miss the helix.

Couldn't agree more with Riddler's Revenge; always been one of my favorites at Magic Mountain.
Glad to know that chang (green lantern) still exists lol that coaster will always hold a special place in my life
Here's what I think of these coasters:
10) I have a love/hate relationship with Viper.
8) Haven't ridden
7) Haven't ridden
6) Completely, 100% agree.
I wasn’t expecting The Boss on here, but I definitely agree with that one! One of my all time favorites
can we sit back and enjoy the amazing B&M roar that Riddler's Revenge gives us?
I’m enjoying the fact you included so far 2 from my home park or should I say hometown park since I’m in Vegas now. I’ll admit I felt head banging on Viper but still my favorite at Magic Mountain.
3 coasters from my hometown park. Awesome
Why is it that I watch this channel while I’m eating coaster studios while I’m drinking milk or something and airtime thrills whenever
You should ride "The Afterburn" at Carowinds. It's an amazing coaster. Gives u the illusion of flying due to the fact it was originally designed and named after the movie Top Gun.
