The A3 is more a polyvalent/pleasure car. The Octavia is great for long drives, it's known to be used for taxis a lot... Maybe not in sportline though. The best is to see the cars in person. On paper you can like both, I recently tried the new Golf and the A3, and the A3 feels so much sportier and better refined, while on paper they are pretty close.
That colour, looks awful. Why would anyone spec that and the new badges... it's not an S3 or RS3, so get the red rhombus off it please. Just like BMW putting M badges on non M cars. We're not fooled by it.
