I must say,Maul was one of the most underrated and underdeveloped character and become one of the coolest and more developed character in all the franchise What a badass character
He's the best Sith Lord, regardless of who he would lose against, and a greatly put together character, especially in season 7 of The Clone Wars. He was used in that season as a sort of foreboding messenger, the only character who knew what was coming (other than Palpatine). Seeing the ruler on the underworld and an ex Sith Lord who murdered a Jedi Knight and was taught by Darth Sidious in absolute fear, anxiety, and the feeling that we've all had before when you know what's about to happen and you know you can't stop it: helplessness. He was an amazing character who was put to amazing use as an antagonist and plot device. Also, he looks fucking great.

I always thought bringing back Darth Maul was too much. Out of all the ridiculous things people wrote in the comics (Boba Fett dueling Darth Vader with a lightsaber, Lando being pansexual, etc), they decided to make Darth Maul wearing spider legs after being cut in half and falling 1000 meters canon. I liked it better when Obi Wan was the first Jedi to kill a Sith in over a thousand years and Maul wasn't a monologuing Saturday morning cartoons villain. Reinstating characters after they've already died and giving them another character arc takes a lot of importance out of the story, lessens the stakes, and makes the possibility of death mean nothing. Feels cheap and meaningless, just like what the MCU has become.
@Danny I can agree with this. The idea of bringing back Palpatine in the newer films was also very dumb. I however am glad they brought back Maul specifically bc it allowed them to do more with a character that otherwise would have been a "wow look how badass that dude is! And he's dead.."

Thats because hes no longer a sith lord after obi wan slices him like bread. Darth is a sith title. Losing to obi wan stripped him of the title while he healed in exile. Then when hes ready to fight again and take back his title he starts to call himself Darth again. The rule of 2 makes it so there can only be 2 sith alive at a time.
This movie was underrated. It felt more like Star Wars than all of the Sequel trilogy combined in my opinion. Wish it got more love so that they continued this plot line. I was excited AF when I saw this.

Love how holograms can now suddenly transmit shades of red to aid in the audience’s recollection of this character. Oh, and just as a secondary wallop to the head, he’ll ignite his double-sided lightsaber for no reason since he’s the only Star Wars film character to have one, apparently.
Holograms have shown color plenty of times before, especially in the original trilogy. As for the lightsaber, it’s perfectly believable that Maul would use it for intimidation.

The big bad sith was darth maul who spent the whole time getting stronger with his new apprentice (she was a sith version of ashoka if I remember correctly) trying to stop the jedi order from reforming while Leia had to deal with the new order. Been and Rey would have still been a part of it (with different names) just Rey would have been Luke's kid and Ben would still have been a solo with one eventually falling to the dark side.

In some ways we got an amazing choreographed maul fight in the clone wars final as ray parks was performing in motion capture against ahsoka but yeah it would be awesome on big screen

Presumably costs a lot more than Sam, I'm pretty sure Peter has expressed disinterest in reprising the role, and Sam has really put in the work and made the role his own over the years.

I'm sure Peter could have given us a lot more memorably material if George Lucas had written more than one scene with Maul speaking, but as it is, Sam's iteration is a lot more developed. Still a dick move of them to not at least tell Peter they were going with Sam and explain why. It can't have been that hard.

I suspect they were planning to make another film, but then everyone boycotted this movie over the drama with TLJ. So then spin-off movies just kinda stopped entirely.

Was there a need for him to ignite his saber? Don't get me wrong, I think Maul was one of the most badass and under used characters brought into Star Wars.

Kira should have been turned to the dark side by Maul to become Darth Talon in a sequels trilogy.
That's so stupid. She isn't a force user and Darth Talon is an entirely different character, different species and from a different time period
@@CRYSTAL_CUSTOMS Sooo. Pump your breaks and be nice/ respectful. As for Kira, we never found out the full potential of her character. Kira could be force sensitive just like Sabine Rey. Maybe Kira never fully tapped into the force.

Sam Witwer is amazing.
I want him to voice Darth Maul all the time, he really brings that character to life in my opinion, he makes Darth Maul more intimidating.

Presumably costs a lot more than Sam, I'm pretty sure Peter has expressed disinterest in reprising the role, and Sam has really put in the work and made the role his own over the years.
@@pablerarav9016 Peter actually recorded the part already. They just replaced him without even telling him.
@@EdNorty I was actually reading up on that just now. But I do still think the role has become more Sam's than Peter's over the years.
I'm sure Peter could have given us a lot more memorably material if George Lucas had written more than one scene with Maul speaking, but as it is, Sam's iteration is a lot more developed.
Still a dick move of them to not at least tell Peter they were going with Sam and explain why. It can't have been that hard.
