I have a straight friend from Palestine that had to flee to safety in Israel because his gay brother was murdered by their own family and he wanted nothing to do with the killing. There are hundreds of 'queer' Palestinians living their lives freely in Israel, away from the constant threat of death that being such a way brings under Hamas rule.
This brings me so much joy to see! As a Lesbian, I've bounced from support group to support group, finding only disturbed people. They made me feel like there was something wrong with me as I hated Communism, Socialized Medicine and have Conservative views. I don't feel alone anymore! Loving my child unconditionally was never hard, I honor her wishes and support her in every way I know how. Worrying about the depression she is suffering from the female hormones she's taking is very hard. Worrying about what she is being exposed to at pride parades is hard. And your point about Veterans DAY vs. Pride MONTH is SO valid!

I have a straight friend from Palestine that had to flee to safety in Israel because his gay brother was murdered by their own family and he wanted nothing to do with the killing. There are hundreds of 'queer' Palestinians living their lives freely in Israel, away from the constant threat of death that being such a way brings under Hamas rule.
