My step up from the 152. The variable pitch prop is still not something I master. On the approach I look for 80 - 85, any faster and the plane has too much authority once down, making it very twitchy. I never looked the speed up, it just felt the most natural. It is a very easy plane to cruise with but it needs proper handling everywhere in between. Slowing down, I use flaps, gear, and even idle throttle. The prop pitch lever should be max forward on approaches ( like the mixture ), so I don’t use that as it is a control operation to the wrong side of caution. ( and I don’t have a mapping on my hotas for it ). It likes to be floated in on landing, not too much flare. When windy cutting the throttle a touch sooner for a harder but grippier landing. Take my advice with loads of salt, I know virtually nothing about flying.
Prop sync is used in climb, cruise and descent but not on the ground for taxi. Set the desired RPM and then turn on prop sync. When changing RPM the prop sync should be off. You missed the engine runup. A good rule of thumb for power settings is to square PRM and manifold pressure. Example: 23 inches 2300 RPM; 25 inches 25oo RPM. Great video. Are you Canadian?
Yeah the engine run up on the checklist I have was badly faded. Looking for a better copy as we speak. Thank you for the info on the prop sync!! So it's turned on after takeoff? If so how soon after?
Does the baron come with the standard version of msfs? I got the game via xbox series s gamepass but I couldn't find it in the aircraft list. Do I need to buy it in the marketplace of something?
I also have the GTN750 installed on this aircraft. The only issue I have is that the left side of gauge doesn't meet up with the engine read out column to the left of it. Do you have to go into panel.cfg and adjust panel size? Thanks again
Prop sync is not used for takeoff or landing. If you lose an engine, you don't want the aircraft to incorrectly sync with the dead engine.
The Beech Baron is my favorite aircraft to fly, in both X-Plane 11, MSFS 2020, and real life.
Cool

I wish someone would make a study level version of this aircraft tho
Great video (as always)... Cheers!
Thank you!
Great Video as usual just wish there was a Stable Baron like in FSX Man she was a Fun Fly . Actually was the Best plane in FSX
Wish they would model the circuit breakers and all the ac controls. Hopefully a 3rd party will come and make it ultra realistic

@@OverkillSimulations Yes it is off for takeoff.
Def trying to catch your next stream. Are you doing any fly events with multiplayer on Twitch? Would be fun to have a group bush trip or something!
Definitely want to plan something like that

Is it msfs 2020 baron glass default aircraft? I use default one and my prop sync button does not work..

I never had to do that so I'm not sure Steve
What type of track IR do you use? I had the unit that attached to my headset. Didn't work very well. THX
I use the same. The TrackIR ProClip.
