My Grandmother was born in Belgium, and left to American after the war (where I was born). Some years ago, we had a little bit of a family reunion and went back to Belgium to see where she grew up and the convent she hid in during the war. She was born in Antwerp, but we also went to Brogue and landed in Brussels, as well as crossed into the Netherlands to see a cemetary where some of our relatives were. I was younger at the time, and didn't fully understand everything, but it was interesting and somewhat fun. At some point, I would like to go back, but yeah..not sure why I posted this, but good content and keep up the good work :))

I think "Kättche, kättche" is actually a song from the country of Luxembourg.
It's tricky but the province and the country are two different areas. The Luxembourg province in Belgium is sometimes called "le Luxembourg belge" (Belgian Luxembourg) to differentiate it from the country.
For info, historically, both the modern country and province were part of the Duchy of Luxembourg (and the current Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was part of Begium until 1839).
Well now idk which song would have fit the Luxembourg province... Maybe "le Chant des Chasseurs Ardennais"? It's a military song from a belgian division that illustrated itself during the ww2 against Wehrmacht. This division is associated with the natural region of Ardennes which for the most part is situated in the Luxembourg province. For trivia, the power metal group Sabaton released a song to honour the Chasseurs Ardennais called "resist and bite" (english translation of "résiste et mords", the motto of that division).

It's because West-Flanders (the coast) is where all our rich (old) people go to spend their (final) days in their 2nd homes. And with rich people you often have "high class" girls being a compagnion for them and like you said often did plastic surgery to look attractive. Look at the grand casino of Knokke-Heist for example or the famous 2 old women who said you can't wear shorts in Knokke but only Ralph Lauren.

Keep in mind tho that Walloon can sound very different depending on where you go since it was never standardized to the same length as French for example.

Well, I would have done some provinces differently (terrils and social misery in Hainaut, Standard in Liège, De Wever in Antwerpen...) but can't complain here. I mean, as soon as you're a native, you know more trivia and stereotypes about your country and you would expect other people to do so, but that's actually some niche lore on a world scale lol.
