Or maybe the majority of admitted went to $50k per year private schools where GPA inflation is rampant which allowed them submit "test optional," relying on the GPA and their rotating (shhh) position as Class Officer along with their 4 years of participating on the school's sailing and fencing team? or does anyone really think GPA inflation is happening at public high school? 🤫 These college consultants are mainly talking to the above demographic along with the top two students at lesser high schools. If your child doesn't fit into that demographic, then this stuff is just entertainment.
@@abhart I am referring to students in public schools who are "graded" according to the actual performance vs. students who are in elite private high schools who everyone knows are getting higher grades than they would if they were in the aforementioned public schools. Anyone who suggest that public school with their tenured and often-times unionized Teachers are inflating student grades has never dealt with these teachers. It is quite the opposite. Not following your advice about the additional info section of the app in this context. The answer IMHO is that the standardized test scores are an equalizing counter balance in this highly subjective process. Unfortunately, the trend is moving away from considering these scores. The ones benefiting are obviously the students in the expensive private schools.
Thank you for the sobering video. I would love to hear your thoughts on the new Harvard’s opportunity insights findings on the SATs and academic performance and how this new data may affect policy change for nexr year’s admissions cycle.
This video is not really helpful. You just keep saying you need to be “attractive” and impressive” to the Admission Officers-without providing any insight or explanation as to what any of that means.

Nobody is talking about the over quantities of their application. Too much focus on quantity vs. quality.

So what do they find attractive?
US top college admission just like metaphysics, hit jackpot, or a blind date. No objective standard!
Well yeah it's subjective. Unfair but yeah
