The entire original "The Yellow and Black Attack" EP was amazing. Didn't care too much for the songs they added to it a few years later, but the original I think was just as good as "Soldiers Under Command".

Stryper has never duplicated the raw power of their original EP, amazingly original and heavy....

As a teenager being into the first wave of L.A. hard rock/metal bands, I'm embarrassed to say that I ignored Stryper for the obvious reason, and I'm sure that millions of other ignorant people did the same. However, years later there's no denying that Stryper were as good as, if not better than any of the early bands from that scene. In fact, if I'd done a blind test (knowing nothing about their ideals/beliefs) and was played one of their less overtly religious songs I would have rated it up there among the best (which of course I do now). At least their music lives on and I get to appreciate and enjoy it 40 years later.

I first heard Stryper on Metal Shop and The Yellow and Black Attack had just been released. My older brother immediately went out and found a copy. We spun the crap outta that EP. Still my favorite Stryper album along with Soldiers Under Command.

Stryper is also one band where you get 2 lead guitarists. Michael can play just as well as Oz Fox.

Someone said that Real Videos was a low for them, but the hosts Matt and Hodge were the ones who created this video. RV was also the catalyst for my own show. I still love this song and vid!

That is correct Dion, I was at the show at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, great show by the way. I don't think it was a low for them. Dig Oz Fox's leg warmers back then. I just saw them recently at the Grove in Anaheim CA

I have loved Stryper's music from day one. I have even had so called Christian people on here give me hell because I like "satan's music" and that I need to re-Christian myself....LOL....I guess those people don't realize that if this music gets a young person or rocker to Christ, then it's working! I guess too that those so called Christian folk don't realize that a majority of your hymnal music was once bar/beer drinking music with the words changed....People need to learn before speaking out!

That Sucks that people have given you hell !! You can feel the Spirit at a Stryper concert, that is the way I judge if a group is of God. God has used Stryper tremendously. Stryper Rocks !!!

Funny, TBN refused Stryper then. Now it is refusing anyone who says Jesus is the only way to heaven. Seems they have a problem getting it right. Bye-Bye TBN!

Michael has always said that they weren’t a “Christian band.” He said the were Christians that played in a band.

  • @TallonIV776V

They could've been so much better if their lyrics weren't so damn stupid. Michael Sweet is crazy high though
