A heads up for anyone owning a GMC/Chev with the 5.7 or 6.2 engines from 2019-2023. Research proves GM is trying to protect themselves from the added costs of replacing a defective oil cooler line. The issue is at the engine block where the inlet and out cooler lines attach to a external adaptor to the engine block. When the outside temperature is cold and you start your engine, the engine oil heats up. At some point the high pressure line will have a catastrophic failure dumping your oil on the the pavement. If not shut down quick enough, your engine will lock up. GM not only has a national back order on the oil cooler line but also has a back order on the engines leaving you without a truck and possible payments. Proof is in the pudding! Research “Global Safety Field Investigations DCS5833. GM says the defect only on certain VIN trucks sold in Canada and Alaska. This is false! Research proves trucks in several states who have diverse cold temperatures are having cooler line failures. Look up GM N212326940 This should be a National Recall for every GM/Chev. truck sold! ATTENTION: If You have purchased these trucks, PURCHASE the Extended Warranty package that covers the engine/transmission. GM is getting away not paying on vehicles after 60,000 miles until the owners file enough complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and NHTSA. I was able to purchase the cooler line from the Chev dealer in Canada but after it was installed, they said the 6.2L engine was locked up would need to be replaced on my extended warranty.
Thank you brother for sharing your experience. I have a 2020 with a gasoline engine and I am so sorry that you had this experience. I hate poor customer service but what i dislike even more. A big ticket purchase that does not perform as expected. The main reason i am posting a comment is to thank you for reminding me to remain humble and communicate effectively without blow up and shouting. Good luck!!!!
I was in your shoes way back in 1988 with my newly redesigned bought new 2500 Chevy, 4x4. For starters: I recall when my 4th alternator went south and the serpentine belt came off and whipped the hood causing numerous dents right before my eyes. The 5th one lasted after they changed the main bracket that was cracked causing flex under load stressing the bearing of the alternator.
This is the reason I switched to Toyota, tired of breakdowns and expensive repairs. I always bought GM or Ford, no more. I feel for you hang in there. Thank you for sharing your pain.
Something I've learned through the years and a saying I have. "If it has tires or tit's, it will give you problems." With that said I learned that some are more reliable and better built than others, but eventually they all will give you problems. You just have to roll with the problems and fix them. Sometimes an easier fix than others. Good luck my brother and God bless.
Thanks for posting your experiences. I've been thinking of going from a gas to diesel GMC or Chevy "refresh" in either High Country or Denali trim. I've had several good test drives and I'm impressed with it, but I've been hesitant because every time I speak to a different salesperson I realize they have very little knowledge about the products they sell. This may also be the problem with the technicians and service advisors. It's the same with Toyota, Ford, and Dodge. I've waited for this redesign nearly 3 years, and I' don't t have the confidence to drop $65 - $85K on a vehicle they cannot maintain. It's common to have issues with a new redesign,, but with the prices (and markups) they must do a better job testing their products, and educating those who interact with customers. They should buy that truck back and reimburse you for the trips when they failed to perform. I'm keeping my old truck for now.
This is more common than people think a lot of the testing of new vehicles are tested by us the consumers yet we don't get paid for it you pay them because you pay them and get the inconvenience on top of it all. My rule of thumb when it comes to a new design or all new anything wait it out so that they get all the bugs out first.
I went through almost the same situation with my ‘23 AT4 3.0. My updated completed successfully like 3 days after I bought the truck brand new. A few days later, dead battery. Trip to dealer, updated stuff, sent me on my way. Next morning dead battery. Towed to dealership. I was in a loaner for a week till I got my truck back. So I had driven it for like 4 days before it sat at the dealership for over a week. Long story short, I had a bad ground wire in my power seat module that was a parasitic drain on the battery at night, killing the battery overnight. It was fixed and everything has been fine for like a month now. But my confidence took a big hit and I totally feel you when you say you don’t trust the truck now. It’s my first GMC and first diesel.
J, I truly wish you well and you are definitely handling this whole debacle respectfully!!! Beautiful truck and hope you receive some sort of promising answer/acknowledgment for the lack of good customer service.
Very good information about your Duramax diesel. Just bought a 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 (with the Duramax, LZ0 refresh). Have only had it about a month without any issues. . . I have to applaud your patience with this dealership. At the 2nd visit with the same issue, I would have firmly (but calmly) elevated this to the Service Manager, then General Manager, then Chevrolet, etc. I to paid good money for a new truck and I feel that services after sale is just as important as the sale. If GM doesn't feel this, I'll never buy another car from this company. No bad experiences from my local dealership (or GM) yet. Good luck, you deserve the service you paid for.
🍋 Might want to consider filing for a lemon 🍋. If they don't have loaners they should be giving you a rental. I believe GM has to give you something if it's a warranty issue and will take overnight to repair. Service advisors are clueless. I have a 23 Silverado that I bought in June, but the first time I used the heat was in October. I noticed there was no heat on the passenger side. Dealer looked at it and said an actuator on a blend door was not working. Since there was a strike they couldn't get the part. I finally called in mid December and found out the part was in, I guess they forgot about me. The service advisor said it would take 5 hrs. I was ok with dropping it off and using my wife's car. Next day(Friday) around noon they called me and said it's going to take about 12 hrs and it should be done late Monday or early Tuesay. I was pissed but said just get it done. No call Monday or Tuesday. I called late Tuesday afternoon and they said they almost had it apart! I was livid and went off on the service advisor. I told him I would be there in half an hour and would be expecting a loaner truck. They finished it late Thursday. Now the 2 usb ports buy the heater controls don't work. Back to the dealer after the new year!
You going out of your way and I commend you for keeping your cool. My 2012 Sierra had chronic issues and finally needed an engine rebuild at 30,000 miles. The issue was the Air Fuel Management system shutting down cylinders and not providing oil to them. The truck was never the same afterwards and I ended up trading it in at a loss. Ask yourself with the problems you have now do you think they won’t get worse with age. I wouldn’t be able to trust it even after months with no issues. I would get rid of it at this point, especially with over a month in the shop.
No. Cmon. His only issue was a bad ground wire. The codes and everything are always thrown after battery dies. The grounding issue was fixed…things are fine now. The OTA updates was an issue for many and is being worked on by GM. It is a lot of bullshit to go through, but the. Actual issue is not that big of a deal.
Unbelievable!!! Man, I wish you the best. I could not handle the problems you encountered. I would have lost it. GMC should just give you a new vehicle. It sounds like a serious lemon.
This is why I have been buying Toyotas and Hondas since 2003. Never going back to any other brand of car. No car manufacturer lives up to these brands.
I fine it really funny how people think buy just going to Toyota and Honda thier issues dissappear lol. I work part time for a towing company and we see plenty of Hondas and Toyota get towed. More Nissan that anything funny enough. Ford and GM truck not that often. I've always owned GM and never have a problem other than normal maintenance like brakes tires and fluid changes. That amount of people having issues with newer cars is still a low number compared to the amount sold.
@@35RSkyline really not funny, its piss poor American quality. Any engineer can tell you within seconds which is a better built car inside and out. If you look at the cars history the Japanese built cars far outweigh American built cars. Even though my Toyota was built in Mexico, the quality is flawless, its the way they manage the factories. It’s a systematic issue. American cars are just not up to par with Hondas and Toyotas. I agree it needs tho change but the new cars are garbage. Checked out a Ford Maverick the other day compared to my Tacoma it was utterly pathetic in the comparison of quality.
Man I test drove one of these and fell in love with it but now you have me second guessing whether I should get it or not. Back in 2008 I had a Nissa Xterra that kept having issues and I finally went into the show room where they had potential customers and I very loudly told the girl at the front desk "I need to speak to someone who can help me" and I explained the issue and how they keep me coming back time and time again. The sales manager tried to get me to come back to his office and I said "no lets talk about it here in front of everyone so they can see what a great dealership this is and how great you're going to take care of me for having to keep coming back for this check engine light". He was so pissed his face turned red but after I left that day the issue was resolved and they did give me like $150 to spend on services (like oil changes and stuff). But people look at you like YOU are being a jerk when you do something like that.
Damn...thank you for sharing this. This video definitely has helped me make the decision to not consider this vehicle. This is insane everything you had to go through. I'll admit i would have lost it long ago and not have been as patient. Hope your car is now without flaws.
Ive been binge watching your channel, specifically with this 2022 Sierra and just wanted to say, just bought a used colorado 2 weeks ago, had to take it in for a engine light, for some reason man, the advisor never calls me, i always have to call THEM for an update. Like you, I don't like blowing up, I just figured it was a low expectation to at least get a call, been in the shop for 4 days now havent even been looked at...WITH AN APPOINTMENT. Enjoying the videos though! :)
So sorry about your truck J, but thank you for sharing all this with us. I wanted to buy this truck but was very fearful of GM reliability. There is no way I would buy one after seeing what you’ve been through. I sure hope everything works out for you
I feel sorry for you man. You remind me to why I switched to Ram over GM. I have no no no regrets. I thought about Ford but I know to many people that have issues also. Paying that kind of money for any truck and going through that grief isn’t pleasant.. take care
I’ll stand by comment I had in a previous video, I think ours and other RUclipsrs issues (it’s happening to non-diesels) is the computer they used for the refresh. I think diesel part is fine. When mine broke down it was almost identical to how yours did (not charging, not jumping, not turning off to kill battery, the codes) but mine wouldn’t start for whatever reason. Got it towed and they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. In fact, the tech told me using Spotify crashed the computer. Mine hasn’t acted back up again but the trust has definitely been hurt
J you handled this very well. I’m typically very patient with things as well and trust me you’ve done more than enough and a backlash was well warranted. I’ve only blown up maybe a few times in my life and it got me to where I wanted to go but I still didn’t like it. It’s not me
Good Lord . . . WHAT A SAGA ! 😬 Best of whishes and hope this whole debacle comes to reasonable ending for everyone involved. 🤞 EDIT: I saw going thru the comments that your issue was resolved and you ended up with a gasoline powered variant. That's great news, best of luck with your new shiny truck ! 🙂👍
My girl uncle just paid 55 grand for a 2018 Yukon Denali and lifters just went a week later, GM quality has definitely went down but I’d pick them over ford anyway
I admire your patience and I’d like to think I’d handle this in a similar manner. Losing your self control will not fix the truck. I hope it continues to perform as it should for you. I was going to look at a Silverado diesel this morning and you have changed my mind. Thank you and again sorry for your troubles.
The whole time you probably had a floating ground causing havoc on the entire electrical system of the truck. A loose ground can do all kinds of weird things. Best thing may be to just lemon it out.
As much a I love the idea of this engine, I've seen too many of these issues. I work a lot and have a long daily commute, so I need a dependable vehicle that just works. I don't have the time or patience to be taking my vehicle to the shop all the time. I've decided I can't buy one of these. It's a shame because, again, I love the specs and performance of this engine and I was planning to order either a Siverado or Sierra, but not anymore. This sounds like an electrical problem and that can be nearly impossible to isolate. Thanks for your honesty and consistency on this!
Gm used to be a good company. I mostly owned Chevy , the new GM s aren't very good. They are making them so cheap but charge a fortune. The only two car co. That are good are Toyota and Honda.
@@captainbeyond4350 I would add Mazda and Subaru to the good list as well, basically most of the Japanese brands. All car companies have quality issues from time to time, but the Japanese seem to far more consistently build quality, reliable vehicles. I really want my next vehicle to be a truck, but there isn't one right now that I would buy, not for the price anyway. I guess I'll just wait a while longer.
A man works hard for his family, money is hard to earn. And this is what you get from a company that took taxpayer bailouts that our government freely gives I completely admire you self control, sticking with a calm clear mind. Personally I would have driven it straight into the showroom glass and tossed the keys to the sales manager. As I sat in my cell contemplating my actions I would find my calm mind. God bless you!!
I was about to buy a Sierra Denali until i read all the problems with them., so last weekend, i bought a Ram limited...thanks for sharing and sorry for the problems that you are experiencing. is it time for the lemon law?
Sorry to hear about your experience with your new truck. I have been an electronics technician for almost 10 years for Mack and Volvo heavy trucks. Unfortunately I have seen this numerous times with loose grounds causing intermittent fault codes, warning lamps, hard starts etc. Sometimes they can be hard to find depending on where the problem is. Seems like the dealership may have missed this but hopefully it is fixed now.
I had the same thing happen to my truck it was completely dead and I thought I had left the lights on until watching this video. I had the same issue, it would not jump start then charged it for over an hour and still had to jump it to get it running.... luckily I had no check engine lights ... wish you the best man hope they figure everything out for you and everyone having issues.
My 23 gmc 1500 elevation already giving whole bunch of problems at 3,000 miles old, it just left me in the middle of the street not running at all. It’s crazy how much you pay for this vehicles and go through all this issues.
Hey brother, sorry about your frustrations and headaches. Hope all is goid with the truck now. Im a bit confused. Ive watched some of your videos now and trying to understand, this is your diesel sierra? Not the 5.3 liter? Another video you have mpg issues with 5.3 liter? Are there any mechanical issues with that 5.3? Watching your videos really made me starting thinking if i even want to go look at this 2023 gmc sierra 1500 5.3 liter. Its gonna be for my business but i hate headaches. I got enough of that. And i totally understand losing faith. Especially when they say they force udpate. What do you think? Would you still have made your purchases knowing what you know now? Thanks for the video.
I have the same issues on my 2023 Canyon Denali. They've had the truck in & out of the shop for a couple of months. I had it only maybe 3weeks total. They are replacing my Canyon with a 2023 Sierra SLT/Elevation with similar features. So, it's not the engines or diesel, it's GM & their crappie OTA's. Like you, I was very patient, but my bar was slowly descending & they appreciate it. P.S. I had a great sales & service rep.
I wonder if there is a way for you to find out if your truck was one of the ones that was built and parked for month's waiting on chips. As all us car guys/ gals know, cars don't do well when they just sit and I can't help wondering if that's not what the cause is of so many of these new trucks having issues.
Should be able to get the build date/week of the truck and when the dealer received it. Would not be surprised if there is some lot rot causing issues.
I had my 2022 GMC Sierra 3.0 diesel refreshed for all most 11 months now with over 22,000 miles on it. I should say I'm not having all the issues you are having. The only thing I have is that the music is cutting out now and then for about 3 seconds. Thank you for noticing that; I might need to ask my service center to get it fix. Sometimes, the company has those lemon cars. I hope all your troubles can get resolved.
I feel your pain, I purchased a new 30K Yamaha side by side, second I took it off the trailer it had steering issues. Took Yamaha 3 months and a letter from my lawyer to get them to act. Lawyer fees were $1500 but they put a new steering box in it. Big company service has been horrid as of late.
Sorry to hear these issues. I had a 2020 silverado with the 3.0L duramax. I had nothing but problems with the check engine light..I ended up unloading the truck and haven't looked back. Really liked the truck but like you said, you lose trust. Props to you for self control. Good luck.
It's funny i'm watching your video about the problems you're having with your truck then a GMC ad pops up saying how good they take care of you at GM, man I pray i dont have that problems I just bought a 2022 GMC canyon ive had it for two Months now my wife said she had the dash lights go out and nothing would work but when I drive it dont do any thing. I feel bad for you. in my State of WV after 3 times of them trying to fix the same problem the State's Attorney General will make GM take it back or replace it, I had to do it on a ATV they made them give my money back. and you're doing the right thing by keeping your cool getting mad dont do any good but still let them know its pissing you off tho Good luck after watching your videos i'm worried about my GMC truck now I had a GMC kept it for 18 years no problems other than a few minor things great truck thats why i bought a new one
I was recently in a situation very similar to yours and I would suggest contacting a lemon law attorney before risking a loss with your truck. I agreed not to discuss the agreement or settlement but i was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. They will step up and reimburse you for the inconvenience and frustration that you've delt with but you have to go through with a lemon law claim for them to do so.
Dang Brah, I am glad I didn't get that diesel. I haven't had any issues with my 2022 refreshed SLT 5.3 the big test is this weekend when I tow my boat lol! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Watched your video I feel your pain going through the same thing with a different brand these manufacturers think they can get away with anything somebody in Congress should put a stop to it if you bring your truck back three times give me your money back and that’s it all the time that is wasted and the lies that are told are unbelievable hang in there brother stay calm and I hope your truck gets fixed and you have no more problems. God bless.
Got my 22 refresh elevation with the 5.3 on September 5.. 1,400 miles later breaks down and needs new injectors. Been at the dealer waiting to on parts for a week now.. don’t know when it’ll be ready
@@thetruthyesscanned it, codes came back to a cylinder misfire. Took it to the dealer, left it 2 days and got a call back saying it needs a new injector. I called today asking for an update, said they’re still waiting on parts since they’re on back order. As of today it’s been sitting there for exactly 2 weeks. And dealers that do have the parts don’t want to sell them any for that reason
No no no, don’t get an Escalade get a Denali! Lol, just kidding, you have been a coach for me to be more patient. I appreciate your sharing and heads up in general and I hope you have better luck. I just bought a X31 2023 5.3 v8. It sounds like you should move to Gresham Oregon and get the right treatment from Weston GMC … I would be a good neighbor too! God Bless good luck. I will be paying attention!
I feel your pain. 2022 Sierra At4. 100+ miles from home at a river park. 104 degrees out. Put it in 4W-lo because I was going about 100 yards through smooth river rock. Get back to where I can put it into 2W drive, and it’s stuck in 4W-lo. Tried everything in the manual, nothing worked. Called the dealer, and the service technician said try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Luckily a nice man had some tools and I disconnected the battery, waited about 30 minutes and it was back in 2W-drive. At least we could drive home. Message said service 4W-drive system. Doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in me. Truck has less than 2,000 miles on it. Will take it to the dealer. Good luck with yours. I am thinking GM, under the current leadership, will fail.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I have a 2021 Elevation 3.0 Duramax quad cab X31 4WD for a year ow and no issues at all. I was thinking about trading it for the refreshed one exactly the same config. I'm shocked how more expensive this truck is. I purchased the 2021 for $53.350 + taxes. No markups or addendums in Bakersfield CA. Building exactly the same config for the 2023, the price is $64.500 !!!!!!! I'm shocked with the price jump, can't believe it. I think this is the last time I get a truck.
Sorry to hear, I've been a GM fan for a long time. It seems like the 99-06 had a lot less issues than the newer stuff. I was watching a video a guy had a newer Ford Raptor and the update killed his battery. Im upgrading my old Silverado in the spring, thinking of a second generation Tundra
Hey man, I'm following your story closely. I am trying to decide if the diesel or the 6.2 gas engine is the way to go. Next year I want to purchase the AT4X AEV edition. Currently from the information I'm getting the diesel is not available, but that truck would be perfect with the 3 liter Duramax. Please keep us posted!
@@emorse912lifter and piston issues. My 6.2l 2020 Silverado 1500 with 26,000 miles just through two pistons out the block. My work struck 5.3l, has had multiple lifter issues.
I had the same issue with my 22 Silverado TB. Dealer did what they could and the stabilitrack is off for now and check engine light has gone away. Heard it was a big recall but on all brand new trucks 🤦🏽♂️I hope everything worked out for you
I have a 22 limited model with a 6.2, I don't know what they changed but I've been having zero problems. I feel for you man, I would have been through their roof by now.. take care and hope you get it worked out. By now they should have offered you a new vehicle.
I’m sad to say my 2023 Silverado is having issues at 3 weeks old the radio is going bezerk and my wipers stopped working while driving on the highway In a down pour. Not cool hoping for the best.
After going through this with my old WRX ins 2015 i called the general manager of the region. They bought my car back for the price i had bought it for and sold me a year model newer for my original price. I had the car for three weeks I did not even make my first payment yet and they said drive it don't worry about it I said i am not taking that car because I will be stuck with it.
I feel your pain. My 2023 just received an update on Wednesday and I picked up the truck on Monday and it didn't claim success or failure but there are errors for 4wd and forward collision system. The dealer claimed to find a broken wire in the dash between the radio and HMI but when they patched it, the system is worse and now every system has an error. The update claimed to have a feature update for adaptive cruise which from what 3 other people mentioned we don't have that feature and it seemed to kill the truck. If I manage to get my truck back i'm refusing to install these OTA updates.
I was on the fence about a gas or diesel truck. You have sure helped me make up my mind! I would have left that truck on the street with the key in it a long time ago! You had a lemon and bad customer service. Wow
I appreciate your sharing. I had a few issues with Duramax. I understand how you feel it gets to the point where the truck is unreliable, and you lose faith in the brand. My truck is 4 months old and I get the feeling of what now is going to happen while driving. It's really hard to enjoy!!!
I have the same thing with my 2023 canyon, gas engine - I went into the preferences and turned off automatic updates & update button - have not had a problem since - when I want to check on updates, I go into preferences and turn on update - when update finishes, I turn updates back off again. suggestion: you just might try going to another chevy/gmc dealer to see what they have to say
I watched a video from a repair shop where they found that GM uses a soft mesh ground wire. This absorbs water, dirt and salt. It will corrode the wire and loose ground. The ground issue could be related to this poorly designed ground wire. I hope the issues you have been experiencing are resolved. I was thinking of getting full size truck and like the features and look of the Sierra and Silverado. However, I have zero tolerance for reliability issues and have doubts about the engineering and quality of the parts used in these vehicles.
You said you were in Austin? I just picked up a 22 refresh duramax 3.0 AT4 and I love it so far but anxiously waiting on those gremlins to appear. I've already experienced that GMC incompetence at the dealership. Any chance it's the same one? N.M.?
Bruh, your situation is a terrible experience. But I have to admit, you had me laughing a few times as you were detailing your frustrations - I think we've all experienced similar spots dealing with companies and their representatives. But keep it pushing man, I hope they finally resolve your issue and give you a satisfying product!
Hey Brother With a completely dead battery in my Ford pick up ... I found that I couldn't charge the battery for love nor money. I found to charge it I had to disconnect the battery and it would charge fine. Hank
With the chip shortage , these companies are using low quality products. This is also the price you pay for the new teched out vehicles. These companies should be sued.
Sorry your having all the issues with your truck. Hopefully it all gets rectified quickly. I have a Denali Duramax built and waiting to be shipped. Hopefully I don’t have any issues.
@J. Williams Good to see that GM has fulfilled their end of the deal. Your new truck is on the way. Actually from your latest video, it's here... that's awesome my brotha. One Luv! 🙏🏾
I’m 62 and I have had many new Chevy/gmc trucks, some very reliable some nothing but trouble and in the shop once a month.when I get one like that I eventually get rid of it.
I like the new electronics in vehicles but it’s just more to go wrong. I think get a base model with as little electronics as is possible these days, less to go wrong. Just my experience
I was just looking at a 2023 Sierra Duramax with 20k on the odometer. I was wondering why it was back up for sale in another state (not original selling) with seemingly very little wear on it. Now I'm wondering if this was a truck that had issues and someone dumped it. It was priced very reasonable. Makes you wonder.
I know a guy who had a similar type issue with a Ford raptor. He finally said I do not want the truck back and made the dealer buy it back. He went and bought a Hyundai Santa fe. I would get rid of it or tell them to find me a good used Tundra on their lot and make the buy that truck back for a trade.
Here's the paradigm: The dealerships struggle to get vehicles repaired under warranty. The profit is not in warranty work. But, if you sell the truck to the dealership, it will be repaired and on the lot for sale within a week. Get your money out of the truck.
I know how how you feel my Sierra went through 4 transmissions in 2500 miles the anxiety of not knowing if what looks like a beautiful truck will make it to roundtrip
Bought a ‘20 Sierra 3.0 Duramax new. Towed back to dealer 3 times, limped back in numerous times. Been without my truck for 2 months now. Sorry, no more domestic trucks for me. A shame about the unreliability though because it sure is a great truck otherwise. Good luck.
Dealerships are the absolute worst. They only care about you when you’re buying the truck, after that they give horrible service. Sorry your having all these issues. That 3.0l would be a gem if the government didn’t mandate all the emissions BS.
GMC still...or Chevy, I like them regardless of what's happening here. Good products in my experience. This is just one of those things that happens to us.
Sorry to hear that you have to deal with this, I know it’s frustrating. I had a 2009 Ram 2500 with a 6.7 Cummins, it was in the shop a dozen times in 10,000 miles. Multiple EGR issues, turbo cleaned twice and ultimately replaced twice and on and on. I did not have the numerous technology gremlins your having, that has to be very irritating.
I have a 2022 GMC Sierra SLT 3.0 Duramax refresh. With 8k miles no issues! Love the truck sorry to hear your dealing with this.
Did you ever run into any transmission issues?

I was in your shoes way back in 1988 with my newly redesigned bought new 2500 Chevy, 4x4. For starters: I recall when my 4th alternator went south and the serpentine belt came off and whipped the hood causing numerous dents right before my eyes. The 5th one lasted after they changed the main bracket that was cracked causing flex under load stressing the bearing of the alternator.
This is the reason I switched to Toyota, tired of breakdowns and expensive repairs. I always bought GM or Ford, no more. I feel for you hang in there. Thank you for sharing your pain.
My 2022 Toyota Tundra has no issues,I’ve owned it for a year … love my dream truck …
Thank you for your real life account of ownership. You saved me buying one. I been thinking about it.
I was thinking the exact same thing
No.
Been there, done that with GM! I traded it in to another brand, problem solved! Best wishes!!
Unbelievable!!! Man, I wish you the best. I could not handle the problems you encountered. I would have lost it. GMC should just give you a new vehicle. It sounds like a serious lemon.
LOL it was just a ground wire issue. And bad service from the dealership. Doesn’t even come near case for a lemon.
I say go for it, one persons experience is not the other. Tons of people have had no issues, if you like it get it.
@@2024CorvetteE-Ray If I do I’ll post a comment back.
Damn we work so hard for our things and they sell us shit. Was lookin into a 23 sierra. Maybe just keep my old truck for now.
Paying that kind of money for any truck and going through that grief isn’t pleasant.. take care
Thanks for the support.
EDIT: I saw going thru the comments that your issue was resolved and you ended up with a gasoline powered variant.
My 2003 Avalanche with 292k miles still run like new :3 They don't make them like they used too 🙄
True fact. My 99 Sierra runs like a tank.
A man works hard for his family, money is hard to earn. And this is what you get from a company that took taxpayer bailouts that our government freely gives
I completely admire you self control, sticking with a calm clear mind.
Friend of mine had his injectors replaced took over a month. 24 ‘ 3.0. I’m going to shop 5.3L thx.
Bummed to hear all these bad issues.
I didn’t look back at your older vids, but did you have any issues with the 2.7L 4-cyl?
Not one issues, solid engine.
Ive owned mine since May no issues at all with the 3.0
Sorry to hear about your experience with your new truck.
I am wondering if your GMC came with the leather seats or did you add leather seat covers
You have the patients of a saint! Thanks so much for sharing your experience.
2020 Silverado 5.3 just hit 70k miles. I've had zero problems with my truck.
You certainly have more patience that me. I would have exploded by now. Hopefully the problems go away
Good luck.
I had the same problems with Dodge's service department with my 2015 Wrangler
WOW, I feel your pain...they just replaced mine too...horrible experience.
I don't understand how a brand new truck needs new injectors after 1400 miles...
Congrats to you for keeping it together. Don’t know how you managed that but good for you. Classy dude. Hope it gets better
Will do, thanks for staying with me. 🙏🏿🙏🏽🙏🏾
I just bought a 2023 Z71 3.0 LZ0 Duramax….Dealer says they’re pushing the 2.7 and stopped producing the 5.3 due to lifter problems
The 6.2 has valve issues, the 5.3 issues and the 3.0 has issues as well.
@@emorse912lifter and piston issues. My 6.2l 2020 Silverado 1500 with 26,000 miles just through two pistons out the block. My work struck 5.3l, has had multiple lifter issues.
That dealer ship very lucky ur a nice guy , God bless , thing will work out
I had the same issue with my 22 Silverado TB. Dealer did what they could and the stabilitrack is off for now and check engine light has gone away. Heard it was a big recall but on all brand new trucks 🤦🏽♂️I hope everything worked out for you
I have a 2022 RST refresh and it’s been great. Sorry for the bad luck
I have a 22 limited model with a 6.2, I don't know what they changed but I've been having zero problems.
I feel for you man, I would have been through their roof by now.. take care and hope you get it worked out.
By now they should have offered you a new vehicle.
I too have the 22 6.2 Denali..... Runs like a dream!
Thanks for your video and review ! My admiration , you re handling the situation with class - not considering a gmc diesel anymore
I’m sad to say my 2023 Silverado is having issues at 3 weeks old the radio is going bezerk and my wipers stopped working while driving on the highway In a down pour. Not cool hoping for the best.
That is really sad,the price of these vehicles is unreal ,good luck and God Bless
Wow
I would push a dealer buyback or make them trade me for a new one on their lot. Hopefully someone one from gm gets you taken care of.
I appreciate your sharing. I had a few issues with Duramax. I understand how you feel it gets to the point where the truck is unreliable, and you lose faith in the brand. My truck is 4 months old and I get the feeling of what now is going to happen while driving. It's really hard to enjoy!!!
I have 11000 miles on my 3.0 diesel. No issues yet! Thankfully!
Nevermind just watched another one of your videos and yes, same incompetent dealership.
Bruh, your situation is a terrible experience. But I have to admit, you had me laughing a few times as you were detailing your frustrations - I think we've all experienced similar spots dealing with companies and their representatives. But keep it pushing man, I hope they finally resolve your issue and give you a satisfying product!
Man, you have way more patience than I !!
Hey Brother
With a completely dead battery in my Ford pick up ... I found that I couldn't charge the battery for love nor money. I found to charge it I had to disconnect the battery and it would charge fine.

With the chip shortage , these companies are using low quality products. This is also the price you pay for the new teched out vehicles. These companies should be sued.
Hate that this is happening to you sir. Love the long discussion videos you produce though.

Sorry your having all the issues with your truck. Hopefully it all gets rectified quickly. I have a Denali Duramax built and waiting to be shipped. Hopefully I don’t have any issues.
@@nathanielwashington9775 oh u will xD

ATX area? What road is dealer on? I am starting my purchase journey and visited a dealer on Research.
I am sorry to hear this J.
Here's the paradigm: The dealerships struggle to get vehicles repaired under warranty. The profit is not in warranty work. But, if you sell the truck to the dealership, it will be repaired and on the lot for sale within a week. Get your money out of the truck.
I know how how you feel my Sierra went through 4 transmissions in 2500 miles the anxiety of not knowing if what looks like a beautiful truck will make it to roundtrip
same thing happened to my 23 canyon. left me dead and stranded at my work and had to be towed to the dealership.
If you had to buy another truck would it be gm, ford or ram, etc???
GMC still...or Chevy, I like them regardless of what's happening here. Good products in my experience. This is just one of those things that happens to us.
Ahh hell no screw GM
Sorry to hear that you have to deal with this, I know it’s frustrating. I had a 2009 Ram 2500 with a 6.7 Cummins, it was in the shop a dozen times in 10,000 miles. Multiple EGR issues, turbo cleaned twice and ultimately replaced twice and on and on. I did not have the numerous technology gremlins your having, that has to be very irritating.
U still have the Cummins?
Oh you are making me worry, I just bought a new 2022 refresh SLT with the 5.3. The is my first GM product, I hope I don’t regret it.
