@POWERHOUSE after consideration I will give you an explanation.... human beings who lack self responsibility, usually lack it in not just one aspect of their lives, but typically throughout. So for example a human that will abandon a domesticated animal, who is dependent more or less, will likely also commit the same act again. If for example this same human being is now interacting with a human, and there is misunderstanding, or fight or something that strains a relationship, could very easy abandon that person. If the fight was serious enough, instead of gaining self responsibility that has been practiced, this person could assault or more

We have to take care of these dogs one way or the other.
Poor animals. Bad thing is people will adopt these animals and then in a few months when things get hard for them these dogs will be abandoned again. I've seen that here when people came out of Covid lockdowns. Just didn't have time for them any more. Such a sad situation.
Obviously you don't know the cost and time it takes to vet and adopt out all these animals. Our shelters are overcrowded as it is.

My heart breaks for these dogs, and cats. I could never abandon my dog for any reason, especially not to break into a country illegally. Seeing this reminds me of a day I was walking with my mother. Across the street a couple of little Mexican kids were playing with a dog and speaking Spanish to it. My mom, in her early 80's at the time, softly said "don't they know that little dog can't understand them." I looked at her and said, "if that is their dog, he can't understand you." She got this questioning look on her face and said, "oh I guess you're right." I guess she thought, at first, that all dogs speak English...they don't.
And like most kids they're hopeless at math.

Perhaps local restaurants can gather leftovers and there can be a support group that gets the animals to a site location that they may be fed and have a chance to find housing.
This is actually a smart way of thinking considering the situation. Capture, spay/neuter, and vaccinate. Then feed with safe leftovers and work to get them into shelters (anywhere but the South). There are great transportation opportunities, and hopefully they can be utilized for these sweet and innocent beings.🙏🐾

There would be less if the pet adoptions weren't such a scam. Some of these organizations charge as much as 1200 dollars to adopt a dog. Plus all the veterinary care,etc.
Used to be you cd adopt a pet for 70 bucks(San Francisco SPCA)and that included first vet visit,shots and a coupon to reduce cost of spay or neuter.
I have three dogs and can't believe how expensive veterinary care is! I live in a very rural area which is economically depressed and the money they want is not in tune with the education or liability of the job! They are just greedy!!! I try to avoid them!!
At my shelter they are $125 and that includes the spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. There is not a shelter or legitimate rescue in my entire state who sells dogs for that much.
@@whitterbug The SPCA is holding dogs for ransom across the country. They haul them from one state to the other and it's at least 700 dollars to adopt a dog.
Where do you live? The moon. Every shelter on the east coast charges the same way. I wd call it for profit ransoming of pets.
@@sidneylittle5399 yes, my state is on the moon. And I work in rescue. I go to educational conferences, work directly with rescue groups, advocate, and have helped re-home thousands of pets. I think I know a little bit more than the average person in regards to numbers in this case. Instead of fighting with people on the internet, why don't you go volunteer at a shelter or rescue and get some first hand experience. Go do something good in the world and help someone.
